This store is jam packed with clothing, accessories, handbags, beach stuff, jackets, Shoes, beach flip-flops, and items adorned With Cannon Beach logo for women and girls. There is a lot to look at!!! You literally have to squeeze through aisles of round racks of clothing that have plaques, books, hats and such balanced on top. With more clothes hanging on every inch of the walls. It doesn't prevent me from stopping in while I'm in Cannon Beach, just saying there is a lot of stuff and it's not neatly arranged or organized. I always say, "there is beauty in the space in between." This applies to decorating one's home, a painting, words on a page, conversation, and stores! The prices are high-end boutique even though the clothing is more like one would find at the Mall. After walking to several stores on this strip, this store was moderately priced in comparison. I purchased a Roxy brand beach hat, a few stickers, and a limited edition Hydroflask. The store was extremely busy and we were there during the height of tourist season. Stores located in small towns, with heavy tourist traffic, I anticipate paying significant mark-ups. I didn't experience that here. They had a good selection of well known surf brands and I would definitely recommend stopping in. Loved the no sales tax, though my credit card may not. :) read more

We go into Ter Har's pretty often when we visit Cannon Beach, if only to browse and wait for the next sale. They have some interesting collections of clothes that make it fun to duck in on a rainy day after a wet walk on the beach. The prices are higher, as you'd expect with a boutique in a beach town, but they do have some good sales. I recently scored a pair of cute dog print rain boots for 50% off here. The staff has been nice and it's always fun to look at the awkwardly hilarious Christian themed tshirts, with slogans like "Lettuce Taco About Jesus". I wouldn't say you must visit here, but if you spend a lot of time in Cannon Beach without coming here, you're missing out on some fun finds. read more

Their merchandise is more geared toward teenage girls, but somehow Mr. K and my boys were the ones walking out the door with their arms full of purchases. Reminds me of a recent Modern Family episode. Before you get any ideas, their purchases were completely gender and age appropriate. Ter Har's extended their Black Friday sales through the weekend, so the entire store (not just one rack) was 50% off. Perfect time to purchase boogie and skimmer boards for our trips back when the weather turns warm once again. They are one of the largest clothing stores in town and definitely are going for beach and casual outdoor wear rather than an upscale boutique. The have Dakine backpacks, hats, etc. I prefer the location in Seaside, which has an even larger selection, but this is a nice option in Cannon Beach. read more

I pretty much live for shops like this! They have lots of cool and randoms things. They also have a pretty big selection of clothing and stuff for tourists. I found these amazing sunglasses here last time I visited that I haven't seen in any other stores and they were cheap too, which is obviously a definite plus! I was on vacation in Cannon Beach, Oregon in July and we were shopping in the little town, which by the way is such a cute town and I love it, and we stopped in to Ter Har's. This shop is so cute, it had great summer selection. Lots of clothes, water bottles, accessories, stickers, cute bags, and more. It's a pretty crowded store though because of all the merchandise. I got a few things there including a bracelet. Originally, when I bought it, this bracelet was a bright peach color. I'm really disappointed because I've had it for about a week now and I've been swimming a few times and the color has completely faded. It's now white. I still like the bracelet because it has cute beads on it and it's still pretty even though it's not that color anymore but I am still sad that that color faded because I wear a lot of bracelets and I didn't have a bracelet that color. Overall, though, the store is really cute, a lot of cute merchandise, and I enjoyed my time there, just a little disappointed in my bracelet. But I do recommend if you're looking for cute summer pieces. Plus, it's in a very cute town. :-) read more

My Cream Handbag lasted Two Seasons. I have found Bracelets that I like at Ter Har's in Cannon Beach,.... as well as some Other Items that I will purchase Later. I took my Darling Husband with me,... and I'm Glad that I did. If you are Black or Brown, or Beige... you will probably be Stared at when you are Visiting Cannon Beach. I get stared at frequently. Every time I visit Cannon Beach, I wind up in this shop. I can't seem to help it. While I'm not really a shopper by nature, they have a terrific unique handmade shirt collection among the souvenir stuff. Some of my favorite closet items come from here. We've been coming to Cannon Beach for the last 20 years and we go to different shops that we enjoy we entered the shop my wife likes to buy clothes and shoes at this particular shop as well as they have one in seaside the people are always very nice and always understanding and very willing to help one individual thought that she had to cast her opinion on what she feel was best for us as a customer in the future she might want to keep her opinions to herself because she didn't know that we were talking about to one of the other employees about housing and success and about the same age group which had nothing to do with that person she made us feel very uncomfortable like we didn't want to come back then we called back to talk to a manager and she avoided telling us her name and we knew it was her that we had the conversation with we don't feel this going to go anywhere with the manager so we wanted to leave a review as well as her name Tiana In the future she might want to refrain from what her opinions are people and understand the conversation before she makes somebody feel uncomfortable to come in your store will we continue to come back regardless if she works there or not I just want to make sure watch what you say in front of her she will let you know her opinion and sometimes opinions matter when you know what you're talking about love your store read more

When wandering around The People's Republic of Cannon Beach enjoying all of the highlights of the coast...the sounds of crashing waves, the wind whispering through the leaves, the gasps of people discovering gluten on their plates, the whispering Prius ignoring you in the crosswalk, locals and tourists alike with tummies full of the official meal of the Pacific Northwest---"Assburgers!!" (inside joke), and rude, sub-par service....I found myself drawn into a shop with an inviting 50% Sign. Actually, my lovely lass was more drawn in...I was just along for the stroll. Ter Har's has a smart formula. Put your shops in high traffic tourist locations (Seaside is their other location) and offer things that people on holiday can't live without. Lots of beach wear, trinkets, bobbles, and other shiny things at an extremely high mark-up. It's Capitalism boys and girls, and you make it work!! Being a local, the Wintertime Retail Depression of the coast can have its benefits, and 50 % sales like this that are storewide are a nice perk. It is really the only way that we would shop here, as we let the tourists pay to bait the traps. Lots of name brands and quality merchandise. Lots of Christian themed tees for the popular Christian Conference Centre and it's Kool Aide swigging inhabitants. WWJD? Well, I doubt he would condone the homophobic, self-centred, hypocrites that use his name in hate, but that is another discussion. Being a lad, and not a very pretty cross dresser; Ter Hars doesn't have many items that appeal to me for my own personal wardrobe, but my voyeuristic needs are met with some of the sexy styles when modeled by others. The store is a bit crowded and tight in it's layout, so I would imagine during the tourist rush it can be uncomfortable, unless frotage is your kink. A bit overkill on the shoplifting signs and security signage, but sadly this is a sign of the times. Employees stalk you a bit and it can be creepy. Nice and clean store. Some cool things, some gaudy outifts, some kitsch, and some deals, so explore.... read more

Loved finding this cute place just out of the blue! I'm a 60ish woman who likes to dress age appropriate but have some items that are current. I found several things. Staff were friendly and attentive; it isn't pet friendly as someone else said but I can just imagine how awful it would be to have dogs "marking" your merchandise! We bought a $6 PNW sticker & when we went to put it on the hydro the sticker was broken & wouldn't peel off correctly, then we went back into the store to ask if we could just simply return the sticker since the one we originally bought was broken. The girl running the cash register was a bitch & was laughing at us. Then she called the owner to see if she could switch out the sticker & the owner said no. I go to the beach a lot, and I always stop in here to look around. It is a store mostly for girls and women, but they do have a small section for boy/men.Their clothes and novelties change a couple times a year, there is still some cool things and people can easily find something for them. I always end up venturing in here but I'm not exactly sure why. They have cute enough clothes and I've spent plenty of money here in the past but I can never stay long. Prices are what you would expect for the area, but what drives me crazy about this place is the sheer amount of stuff! It's hard to walk around without running into people/displays/rack of clothes. I don't usually feel claustrophobic but shopping here makes my head spin. If you don't mind it then you'll probably have a great time and find some really awesome clothes, but if you don't like tight spaces then you'd be better off finding somewhere else to shop. read more

Best shop at cannon beach! It was not geared toward teens. The had different sections clearly for different age brackets. They have name brand items! Toms, roxy, quicksilver, Lucy (looooove!)... Just to name a few. They have shoes, hats, clothing, gifts, bags.... I'm 30 and doing items too young for me and too old for me. However ever age group can wear toms or Lucy if up ask me! They even had hees jeans I have never seen before. They have no zipper or button. They almost look like maternity, however I asked and hey were not maternity. They are freaking awesome!! Lots of unique clothes here that you can wear to work or on the beach. Nice dressing rooms and had 2 young super nice and helpful gals that worked there. My husband bought a roxy purse for his daughter and asked the gal of it was a good buy for a teenage girl and she was very helpful on which one to purchase. I ended up spending a good amount on some Lucy leggings and a quicksilver top. Very clean and had items in every size. Can't wait to go back again! I'd actually expect to see Vera Bradley in this shop. I think it would do well here. Just sayin! read more

Ter Hars has horrible customer service. We have a vacation home in Cannon Beach and have frequented the local shops. It is well known to locals that Ter Hars is not consumer friendly. The staff like to socialize amongst themselves and appear to be annoyed when customers request help. For some misguided reason, I visited the store and purchased a pair of boots. Every time I wore the boots the closure would come undone making them impossible to wear. I went into Ter Hars and explained the problem with the boot closures. The first response from the salesperson was we are not accepting a return or exchange. She looked at the boots and said it appears the boots are defective. So they sold a pair of faulty boots but feel no obligation to return, exchange or even give their customer a suggestion to remedy the situation? Whoever owns or manages Ter Hars is either uneducated in customer service or just doesn't care. The bottom line is Ter Hars is there to sell to the unsuspecting tourist who will not be in the vicinity to frequent their store or require extra services. read more
