I had insurance so I filed a claim & they directed me to return to Diamond Cellar to pick out a replacement ring. Immediately it was not a pleasant experience. The receptionist never placed me in que despite being the 3rd person in the door after they opened at 10am. I sat annoyed for over 30 mins before approaching her again and asked if I should just make an appt. She said no there was a mix up. I wish I would've just left then. So much happened in between then and now but on 4/25 I called asked if I could speak to a manager because after placing my replacement order they have continued to try to mark the price up despite everything being written up properly & me having both the receipts for the stone as well as the setting. I originally called 3.5 hrs before closing and the receptionist told me if the female manager felt it was important she would return my call. I called back 25 mins before they closed again asking to speak to the manager. She then informed me the manager would call me back closer to closing time. I said do you not close in 25 mins? She said yes then abruptly ended the phone call that ended with "bye". At this point I'm going to try to reach someone af the corporate office because the way they are behaving like a used car sales lot is appalling. I refuse to pay a penny more than the agreed upon price that is on all my order receipts I was given when I placed the order on 2/21. They have flat out lied twice now about why the cost is changing. Avoid at all cost, even if you've had spectacular experience there in the past. I would much rather have them refund my insurance company the money that was wired to them for the replacement and take my business elsewhere and be treated as a valued customer.

The owner/designer, Brad, recreated my wedding set; it's beautiful, unique, and comfortable. He took the time to listen and understand what I wanted. Now he knows what I want better than me. Yes, really... he does! I showed him a picture of a necklace I saw, which caught my eye, but wasn't quite right, not "the one". He personally designed and handcrafted the perfect pendant which I love! He found a cost-effective way to modify a chain I already owned. Thanks to him, my diamond earrings are beautifully set enhancing their sparkles and are easy on/off with secure backs. My pandora bracelet is no longer "pandora's box". The beads are secure and don't fly off when I put it on or take it off. I can finally wear my tennis bracelet without fear of losing it. Appraisal paperwork was extremely detailed and immediately provided to me; multiple copies, in a binder I won't misplace. No hassles. No delays. Finding the right, trustworthy, talented, and professional small business to take care of me with my sentimental and valuable possessions was my goal. Mission accomplished! I explained exactly what I was looking for (even showed a Tiffany & Co. reference), and was immediately told customization was the only option... with no pricing guidance, no range, no transparency. That's a miss. When I did find a band in-store that worked, I moved forward--still without a clear idea of cost. After a long back-and-forth with a manufacturer, the quote came back at over $1,500 more than the comparable Tiffany piece. Pause. I also had to remind them about their own bridal promotion while actively making a purchase. That shouldn't be on the customer. To salvage the visit, I added earrings and dropped off jewelry for repair (which, to be clear, the smith work was excellent). But the buying experience? Still off. And here's where it really mattered: I later found my original ring through my Tiffany rep and called to cancel the order. Thankfully, I caught it in time--because buried in the fine print is that custom orders are non-cancelable. Stopped in to this little dinky underwhelming and clearly vintaged and authentic little shop, and took all of five minutes for this older guy with a magnifying glasses headband to get this done. He came out from behind the counter and asked what wrist size I need, told him mine and he said ok give me just a few minutes. He clearly had been doing this his entire life. This guy only charged me like $5 to take a few links out. I expeced to pay at least $20, so this was an awesome surprise. Due to the quick service, the lack of flair and truly honest and sincere work I defffffinitely will be going back here for any future watch needs!!

The store was fairly busy, but when we told the salesperson what we were looking for and my mom explained I needed some jewelry education, they grabbed Jack who took us to a private room for a crash course in diamonds. What I thought would be a 5 minute run through on diamond color turned into a nearly two hour question and answer session which Jack seemed glad to take part in. I was looking for an oval solitaire, they didn't have any, but Jack ordered in a few that looked promising on paper and they were in the very next day--on a Saturday, no less. I wasn't disappointed with any of these diamonds, they were all beautiful, and Jack let me take all the time I needed at the microscope. When I finally settled on a stone, I was passed to Kate who took plenty of time helping me design the perfect ring and band to showcase the stone. It was a 4-6 week process, but well worth the time. I took a few things away from the whole experience: you have to work with someone trustworthy, there is such a thing as an ugly diamond, and the internet makes a great place for selling poorly cut/debris-filled stones. I hopefully won't have to buy any more jewelry in the near future, but when it comes time to get more, this is definitely where I'm going. Pictures to come soon!
