We absolutely loved working with the team at CDI Diamonds & Jewelry! My husband had originally picked out my engagement ring from here, starting with a design that they had and customizing it to make it extra special for me. He had rose gold added to the side of the ring, and a euro shank to help balance it out. I had no involvement in the ring design process - he did it completely alone with the help of CDI, and I love my ring to death!! It took about 3 tries of resizing for us to get the free just right, but now it is absolutely perfect. For my wedding bands, I had a design in mind and was able to work with CDI to get custom rings created. The custom rings were made to have the euro shank to line up with my engagement ring, and were also made to be the same width as the main ring in order to match better. I then wanted two different textures on each ring, and diamonds from my grandmother's wedding rings embedded in the side. Since these rings were then soldered together, it again took me 2 tries to get the resizing right. CDI was very patient with my vision, and helped create rings that I will love for life. This 5 star review of CDI, Matt, Ernie and staff is long overdue. We have always avoided the national chain and big box jewelers for lots of reasons. After shopping locally, independently owned and operated jewelers for months for just the right upgrade for a 40 year old engagement ring unsuccessfully, we found CDI through a referral from a mutual friend. We wanted to upgrade our 2.00ct, princess cut diamond to a more modern setting. We were looking for WOW without breaking the bank. As value shoppers we wanted bang for the buck. After the first visit we thought we finally found what we wanted. Matt sized and suggested we fix a chip in one of the corners. The chip wasn't visible to the naked eye but Matt showed us and explained how we could loose the diamond if left unrepaired. The charge was very nominal. The setting had to be special ordered and would be ready in 3 weeks just before Christmas. Ernie called a few days later to let us know what we wanted was discontinued in yellow gold and we'd have to start over. Through the Christmas rush We postponed getting back in as We knew it wouldn't be ready by Christmas and Matt was getting slammed with the Holiday rush as were we. After New Years, my wife new exactly what she wanted and drew out a fairly descriptive drawing. She also didn't want to be involved anymore but did not want to leave Matt hanging and to let him know if we were going ahead with the project or not. Unbenounced, I went back on my own with honed in description in hand. Matt wasn't in but Ernie pulled exactly what I wanted from under the glass case. Matt called with price along with giving fair trade on the existing gold setting. It was to be Ready In two weeks. Came in again, alone, for pick up on CDI's Super Bowl Party. There was over 50 happy customer in attendance for a fully catered affair with bloody Marys, Mimosa, hot dogs, barbecue, chili, nachos and my finished ring. All the staff and customers said......WOW. Paid for the ring and had Matt save it for a SUPRISE Valentines/Anniversary visit. On the premise of going to Rusty Bucket for Friday night Valentines Day dinner, I suggested we stop in and see what Matt had to show us. Matt and I prearranged placement in the case front and center with a huge price tag on the ring! Denise PICKED OUT her ring from the case and of course it fit perfect! She was totally enamored and would not take the ring off! (Still not realizing that it was her original diamond in the exact setting she had DREAMED of!) I offered and Matt accepted an even Steven exchange; our old setting and diamond for the new gorgeous ring! Pros of Dealing with CDI Value: The 2ct solitaire now looks like 5ct. by only adding .66ct Price: More than fair and very competitive. Knowledge Quality Easy to deal with. Ellen, Renee, Matt & all the staff at CDI were an absolute pleasure to work with. I had been shopping for an engagement ring for quite some time when I first walked into the store. CDI is extremely knowledgeable, friendly & not at all pushy. They truly did help me make the best possible decision. Before making the purchase, I compared what CDI had to offer with the more well known chains in Columbus, a few smaller stores & online retailers. When it came time to make the decision, I actually bought a diamond online (that had a generous return policy, thankfully!) and took it into the store to compare with CDI's selection. Ellen was beyond patient and allowed me to compare both stones for nearly and hour by the naked eye, under the microscope and in some example settings. In the end, CDI's diamond was the clear winner. From there, Ellen worked with me to design the absolute perfect setting. She suggested a few tweaks to the design I had envisioned & they made the ring look absolutely stunning. My fiance was blown away by the ring they helped me to create. I can't recommend this place enough. I am someone who takes a very long time to make large decisions, and after weighing all of the options, CDI was far and away the best place in Columbus to buy an engagement ring. read more

Perfect and amazing engagement ring at the perfect price! After going to a "local" jeweler decided to try this place because of their history. Ellen was there and was so attentive. She was patient with me and took care of my needs. My ring had broken in half, she helped me pick the right ring at the right price. She made her recommendations and she listened to what I wanted. Shopping at CDI Diamonds and Jewelry is a positive experience. This establishment has a great variety of jewelry, from the traditional to the more contemporary jewelry lines. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is knowledgable and helpful ~ no pushiness at all. Matt and his staff enjoy their business and it shows in their approach to their customers. I have purchased several pieces, and more recently had my pearls checked and cleaned. I wouldn't trust my pearls to just any jeweler! AMAZING PLACE WITH AMAZING PEOPLE WORKING!!! My engagement ring was my late grandmothers, and this past June I took it there and they reinforced the prongs that hold the diamond and restored the band. These amazing people made my ring look BRAND NEW!! Recently, I bent the band while wearing it, so I decided to take it to a jeweler that was closer to me (will NEVER do that again). That jeweler gave me the ring back more bent than before and the diamond/prongs were off center. I then IMMEDIATELY took it to CDI, where they were able to look at it and assured me that they will make it look new again. Just one week, I picked up the ring and it's back to its former glory!! I am ever so grateful!! This ring means a lot for both me and my family, and we are all so happy with the work they have done!! They were able to fix another jewelers mistake (which says A LOT in my book). I will forever recommend everyone I meet to go there. And to top it off, they are all SO informative!
