We were in from out of state, and decided to meet up with family for Denny's for our Christmas dinner. First off, I called Denny's in Cambridge, from my home state of Virginia to see if they would be open for the holidays. I received an automated message that basically said, "Thank you for calling your Cambridge Denny's! Spend the holidays with us! We're open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and New Year's". With that message, our family of 14 planned to dine at Denny's on Christmas Day. Just days before leaving town, I called to inquire about 'call ahead seating' or reservations. I listened to the automated message again, and got an employee on the phone who informed me that they didn't do reservations, and they closed on Christmas Eve at 6pm, and opened on Christmas Day at 4pm. That isn't a problem, but they really need to change their automated message. Had I not called to inquire about reservations, and spoke to an employee, we could have very well showed up much earlier, only to find the doors locked. In fact, when we arrived at 3:30pm, we sat in the car knowing we'd have a 30 minute wait, but we did see very confused crowds lining up at the door, trying the door, and knocking on the doors quite perplexed. Honestly, I hadn't expected Denny's in Cambridge to be so busy on Christmas Day, but the parking lot was full. Like I said, there were 14 of us, and although we weren't the first in line, we did manage to all sit together. Service was great, and I give high kudos to both the wait staff and the cooks (my husband and I split a breakfast platter that was made perfectly!). My stepdaughter ordered mozzarella cheese sticks and something else, but really enjoyed them! My sister in law and brother in law had nachos that looked very unappetizing, but I think overall, most were very happy with their food and service. Great job Denny's! But please update your automated message to reflect accurate hours. read more

I was surprised the reviews were so low here. The service was good, everyone was very friendly & it was clean. I know Denny's doesn't have the best food but I think with chains the one thing you should be able to count on is consistency & I'd say it's pretty consistent with what I remember. I had the Philly cheesesteak omelet & I was expecting tiny bits of finely chopped beef but it was like big chucks of fajita steak & was really good. I will say it was a bit greasy but it's a diner so that's expected. read more

I've never seen this Denny's so busy before. Almost every seat was taken, yet we were lucky enough to get a booth and were seated right away. I ordered the Wild Alaskan Salmon with corn and broccoli. The food came out pretty fast considering how packed it was, which was a pleasant surprise. The salmon was good! It was a fairly big size and came with tartar sauce, but I didn't use it. The veggies were yummy and the broccoli was steamed very well - no hard pieces. The dinner roll was delicious! The inside was buttered and toasted, so it had that nice crunch. Today'a lunch was a surprise. the Turkey sandwich my husband ordered and started to eat had rancid meat in it. No one apologized for serving this nasty meat....no comp on the meal just on our drinks, no manager came over to express his disappointment in his staff. all we heard was "I wouldn't eat that either can I get you another one". What kinda cook serves to the waitress a sandwich with rancid meat? The cook had to grill this meat in order to make the sandwich how could they not see this disgusting meat. Makes me sick!!! Better check everything you order at this Denny'. Heres the best part they received 3 awards for food safety the last being in January 2024. Now that's hysterical!!! read more

The bathrooms were clean and the servers were incredibly friendly. I ordered a brisket sandwich to go and the brisket was so chewy I had to spit it out after chewing it for about 5 minutes. The green smoothie was good but needed to be blended a little bit longer. There were large chunks of ice. I was almost late for work waiting for my to go order. They do not have enough staff for the volume of patrons. read more

Solid diner food. The service was very good. The veggie omelet was fresh and delicious. Both my dad and I ordered the veggie omelet, which is served with yummy home fries, and a fresh biscuit. The service was very good for this time of night. When I asked for some hot sauce for my omelet, they actually had some. Not only did they have some, but it was Cholula, which is what I keep in my fridge for my omelets at home! Will visit again if late night dinner is necessary. read more

Ate here a few times. Food is decent. Service depends on how busy they are. The place seems clean.

4th or 5th time here and first check in. It has been a few years since I ate here last and nothing has changed. Service is good, cook staff is slow. Food is ok. I ordered the Supreme Skillet if I recall correctly, as it was to have sausage, well it may have but it must have been ground fine enough I couldn't see it. I did find lots of potatoes and veggies and of course the 2 eggs. This isn't really a complaint, but of they may have been busy as it is still hunting season or at least appears that way from all the Camo that was in the place and they may have been running short in the back. It still tasted good. Now the coffee well that is another story. It tasted burnt as it always does at places like this. This is partly due to the coffee they use and mostly due to the metal bottom pots that may never get cleaned and over heat the coffee. Will I be back, yep, why, because there isn't much for breakfast in this town at this end of town at least. read more

Fit Slam Breakfast with what I call the (3)Amigos (Coffee, OJ, and Water) . Also, a fruit cup on the side. The perfect post work out breakfast. Fit Slam- scrambled egg whites with spinach, (2) slices of turkey bacon and a English muffin split in half. Fruit Cup- strawberries, green apples, bananas, and red grapes. Taste- was about average nothing spectacular, the fruit was fresh, especially the strawberries. Waitress- was friendly and the service was good but for me and this is just me a little to often. But, heck I don't like people anyway before 10am. Overall, I will give this one a slightly above average. Just about 4 miles outside of Zanesville, OH Exit 160 Interstate 70 west. We just visited and the food was good but the service was severely lacking. They were so slow. We waited for our food for forever! I asked for hot sauce with our meal and she never brought me any. We had to ask a different employee for some. and towards the end of our visit we asked for 4 waters and waited over 15 minutes while we watched her get drinks for a table next to us twice! Plus they had a coffee refill and she never came to our table to refill any of our drinks.After waiting so long we never received them, so we told her we wanted our check. We were not in a rush, however we thought we would get our food in a timely manner. Brittany was nice, but we definitely were not a priority to her. read more

It's a typical Denny's. We had the 55 menu tilapia dish. The fish was done well and was tasty. As you would expect there was a lemon slice with it. It's supposed to come with a choice of soup or salad- but they were out of salad- I think they should have offered another side to make up for it. You also choose 2 sides- the broccoli was properly al dente and it and the sauteed squash were very good. Two pieces of buttery garlic bread also accompanied the meal. The service was good. If you have an AARP card a discount is given. We had a good, healthy meal for a fair price. read more

Mediterranean Grilled Chicken This is a new menu item at Denny's. There is only one lump of Feta Cheese about the size of half a Tablespoon. It is not enough. They should put at least two Tablespoons of crumbled Feta cheese. Also, the Feta cheese is NOT sharp. Good job at Tomato Bruschetta, they could have added some dried tomatoes as well. There are two pieces of chicken, one much smaller than the other. The chicken is dry. I have eaten Chicken bourbon at Denny's before, the chicken pieces used are uniform in size and moist. It is what it is at any usually Denny's, except service was particularly slow and painful. We had a big party come back from a camping trip, and we were all dead tired, and wanted to hurry up and grab a bite. We ended up being there for almost 2 hours, because it took 20 minutes in itself to get drinks. But hey, IT IS WHAT IT IS! Can't beat a late-night Country-fried steak. read more

Parking was great (were able to park next to the door) and there were no lines... we even went around lunch time and the place wasn't very packed at all ;-) the décor was decent... not fancy but not sparse and the lighting was adequate, but not overbearing... the layout was typical of a denny's and the place was very clean and calm. we got seated and taken care of very promptly and got our drinks very quickly. It was taking us a good amount of time to decide what we wanted, and she came around again and asked if we were ready, and we said we wanted more time so she refilled our drinks and then came back very quickly later and she refilled and we decided... I ordered a skillet and a side salad (ranch dressing).... and she took the order and .... the salad for me came right about the same time as my meal did... approx 3 minutes later... LOL... but the speed in which we got our food was pretty fast. My skillet (the western one) with ham, bacon, eggs, peppers, potatoes (normally baked redskinned but they substituted with hash browns instead so we can still have it!) (most places would not offer it at all!) which was very nice. It also had cheese sauce and a few other things.... it tasted very yummy I wanted more but my tummy said no cause it was full. LOL... she was very good at taking care of us and about when we were about 80% of our visit there she introduced our new server, as she said the manager wanted her to go on break, so she introduced her to us and told us she would be taking care of us and was very informative and polite about it! ;-) we had very good service there, the food was great and as an added bonus the place had wifi and was decent speeds. ;-) the prices were cheap (25 bucks for 3 people) 4.8 stars for this visit! ;-) read more

Called in ahead of time to order, asked THREE times if they got the order over and over, they said yes. Went into pay, they forgot HALF of our order. So I had to go back in, repay and wait an extra 20 minutes for my husband's food. Ordered a burger with ketchup, mustard, Swiss & American cheese & onion. Only HALF A PIECE of Swiss cheese & onion. No ketchup or mustard after them confirming it. So freaking upset, never again!!!!! read more

My family and I visited Denny's on Sunday, November 6th at approximately 8 am. It had business but it wasn't as busy as it usually is. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes just to get our drink order put in and then another 10 to get them. We got our drinks and was ready to order. Since it took so long to get drinks we were intending on putting our order in when our waitress (Teri) came back. We waited another 15 minutes just to get our order but back in. I ordered a veggie omelet with avocado. W e waited another 25 minutes for our food and we were only a party of 3. Regardless our waitress brought me a veggie skillet instead which I did not order. And then she said we don't have avocado. Well Denny's that's just dumb because there are quite a few items on you menu with avocado especially the tilapia, salad, and cali sandwich. What would you tell the people that ordered any of that??? Our service was so bad we didn't get refills on drinks and refused them when she actually asked. Very bad attitude and slow service and it wasn't even that busy. Bob Evans in our town gets people in and out constantly and I have never had this problem with them. So thank you Denny's and thank you Teri for giving me the realization that i'm never going to Denny's ever again. And p.s. they didn't even deduct my skillet off our receipt even though they fucked up. They did deduct the avocado though. Still very upset. read more

This place is an ok place; but, I found the wait on my food was a little too long for the guest count in the restaurant. However, the staff were courteous and polite and I enjoyed my Holiday Dinner.
