Basically dried chicken and a skillet full of potatoes counted three pieces of mushroom one piece of pepper very little cheese, not the correct meal for the bourbon Burger it was dry no sauce present. Could hear the conversation that the lead chef was having about I am not remaking it serve it as it is, and that was before it even got to the table. I normally give good reviews and it saddens me to give a bad review it, to add a gentleman that was sitting directly behind us, sat down three minutes after we did. We were halfway through our meal before someone came and talk to him.

Meh, standard diner fare. Nothing to write home about. Fills a void where everything else is closed late at night

The place is just an old diner in the town of Strawn. We showed up at 1130. They had nice crowd no wait. Sit down and order. We got a small and a medium chicken fried steak. For the sides fries and mash potatoes with a small salad each. The small steak is prefect size for me. But if you are hungry go for medium or the large. The chicken fried steak is made a little different than most. Not the usual type of breading. We really enjoyed the meal all was very good. The steak was tender and great flavor. Fries cook perfect and great for dipping into my gravy. Mary came around and took the order and she also went to each table and made sure you like the food. Very good service from all the staff. We will be back and you should give them a try.

I'm really surprised at how many four and five stars there are. Almost nothing we got had flavor: Queso - literally just cheese with nothing added - no salsa, no jalapeños, no onion - nothing. If you put queso on the menu, I think people expect it to have more than literally melted cheese. Chicken Fried Steak - loved that the breaded parts stuck to the meat and was excited to eat, but again, literally no flavor. We didn't finish it and we didn't take the leftovers. Mashed potatoes - No flavor AGAIN. We were so surprised and disappointed. You can see everyone there busting their tails though. Those women deserve every penny of every tip left for them.

Besides the pharmacy, a variety of retail items and a cafe style fountain bar. The menu has breakfast and lunch items to pick from. I chose the biscuits w/gravy sausage while my husband had eggs, sausage and toast. My biscuits/gravy with sausage pile on top wasn't quite what I was expecting. I was expecting real sausage gravy. Anyway, it's a nice store and a nice downtown district so enjoy your downtown stroll.

I stopped here while on a business trip and was shocked when I received my bill…read more I ordered a $12.99 burger, a Cherry Vanilla DP for $2.80, and upgraded my fries to onion rings for $2, according to the menu. Based on those prices, I expected my total with tax to be around $19-20. Instead, my bill came to $23.38. When I called to ask about the charges, I was told they no longer had the original ticket, so they couldn't review the itemized bill. The employee explained that I had been charged $3 for the onion ring upgrade instead of the $2 shown on the menu, and that my soda had apparently been upgraded to a large without my knowledge or permission, adding another $1. They also mentioned there were several other small charges that contributed to the total, even though I never requested any extras. The restaurant refunded me $2, but that still left me paying $21.38 instead of $19 for a burger, onion rings, and a soda, which I find excessive. I've always met clients at another restaurant when I'm in town for business, but this time my meeting was here at someone else's suggestion. Compared with both the restaurant I normally visit and restaurants where I live, I found the prices and unexplained charges disappointing. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. This place has been there a while and always has customers we thought we'd give it a try. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable! The restaurant was clean. It has a diner feel, nothing fancy but just right. They have daily specials but the prices overall are very reasonable. They have a simple salad bar which was included in our meals and we enjoyed it. I had the chicken fried steak w mashed potatoes. It was fresh, not from frozen. And really good! I got the gravy on the side as I expected to take home leftovers. The mashed potatoes were a large portion and very tasty. The fold was also fresh and warm and very good. My husband had the fried pork chop w a baked potato. He really enjoyed his too. We left with a ton of leftovers. I ordered my son a chicken strips and fries to go and he really enjoyed it all too! It's great home cooking that's reasonably priced. Totally worth going!

The ribeye was perfectly cooked, tender and perfectly seasoned. My wife always gets the chicken fried steak. It's a huge meal and a heck of a deal. I can honestly say that Newton's bread pudding is the best bread pudding I have ever had and is one of my favorite desserts. I follow their social media and I always see their burger Tuesday's. I got the triple meat smash burger with grilled jalapeños and bacon added. My wife got the buffalo chicken sandwich. They were both tasty.
