Every time I eat here, I witness Price Discrimination. they Sell the same product at different prices to different customers. I always have to tell them to fix my ticket because it never matches the price on the menu. I'm usually a $20 tipper but when they price gouge like that it makes me want to walk out w/o paying and let them take the loss. Food is always good but I won't be eating here again My last straw was when I ordered a burger with an extra patty, and they charged me $4.49 when the menu price was $1.50. Haven't been to a Denny's in a while....what a shock! Denny's used to be a place where retired folks on a budget could get a good breakfast for a reasonable price...Not any more! The service was marginal and the prices are off the charts. $53.60 for breakfast for two people, are you kidding. $3.69 plus tax for a very small cup of coffee with NO refill/warm-ups. The hash browns were thawed out, browned a little on the outside but still raw inside. I'm sorry but two people paying for a four person breakfast does not work. We'll never stop at Denny's ever again. We'll stand by and watch the chain go out of business and it will be well deserved. read more

I went there mid-day, I wanted to take my daughter out to breakfast; as a single mom, I can't afford to do this very much, my budget is too tight. But on this occasion, I had been given a visa gift card, and wanted to have breakfast with my kiddo. I ordered a T-Bone steak and eggs, and my daughter ordered mac-n-cheese with Brisket. At first, the waitress was nice and cordial, although she did remark about the mess on the floor at the adjoining table. I brushed it off as she must be tired. I gave her my order for my T-bone, and she asked about doneness- I said that I wasn't really sure what the proper level was for Denny's (because med-rare at Roadhouse or Outback often isn't the same as other places), but that I wanted it to be lightly pink in the middle but not bloody. When the steak arrived, it looked a bit light in color, but I didn't see any blood. I cut into it a bit, and it looked ok on the surface, but I soon found out differently when I actually took a bite- it wasn't bloody because it was RAW on the other side...it has to cook a bit to be bloody. She hadn't quite left yet I apologized and said I was wrong, that I was a bit underdone, and could they cook a bit more for me. She took got a look of disdain, called over the manager and they took it- and that was the last I saw of it for quite some time (my steak came after my daughter finished eating and I had ate the rest of my food, when I was too full to eat it) But in the meantime, something else happened, and that is the crux of my complaint, although the steak was bad enough (not the raw part, the fact that they took so long to bring it that it was useless) Once they took the steak, my daughter started mixing up her mac n' brisket, and then offered me a bite (it had just been delivered) I had it to my mouth when the waitress reappeared simulaneously, and popped it in my mouth with the intention of giving my daughter (16 yr old) back her fork; when I did so, it wasn't just hot, it was superheated boiling hot and I wasn't expecting it because she had been stirring it for about 5 mins, and taken a few bites (and I like hot food) but it was burn your mouth badly hot (again, this is for context, it's not the basis of the complaint) So I put it in my mouth, the waitress has come to stand there, and it's blistering my mouth... I have 2 choices: spit it out or drink something. So I reached for my soda, but I am truly in pain at this moment, and I miss it and tip it over and make a mess on the table (admittedly) This is where the true complaint starts. I was embarrassed, but tried to keep it light and have a laugh about it. But the waitress looked truly pissed, like nobody has ever split at her table before, and she's offended. Overlooking that, I apologized profusely, and she goes off and came back with a stack of disposable rags, says here you go and leaves us to clean up after ourselves - now, I'm conflicted right here, because I didn't really mind that so much, I made the mess. But I can also honestly say, my daughter has spilled plenty over years of growing up, and that's never, NEVER happened to me, even at fast food, where the server is like "you clean it up yourself". WHATEVER I cleaned it up, I am still in the mindset, maybe she's had a long day. Until she comes back and says "i'll get you another soda if you promise not to spill it, and talked to me like I was a five year old. NOW I'M MAD. She's lucky I didn't throw it on her, after all, she already thinks I'm a karen because I didn't want my steak raw. But I try to be a model to my daughter, so I ignored her. My daugher ate her plate once it cooled off, I decided to eat my eggs and toast because they were getting cold (still no steak) and my kid was completely finished by the time it arrived, to which the waitress pronounced as she set it down "are you full yet???" I took it to go, and it was all I could do to not stiff her the tip. I decided to keep it classy and gave a 10% tip, but I would not have if my kid was not there; I typically tip 30%, even when things don't go smoothly. She deserved ZERO. The more I thought about it, more mad I am, and frankly I want my 40.00 back onto my card. I don't want a coupon, or a cert...because I will never go to that Denny's again. Please refund me my money. I came to have a nice meal with my daughter, cooked the way I asked for it, not to have my mouth boiled, not to clean, and certainly not to be made fun on by the waitress who clearly hates waitressing. So we decided to do a dash order and it was Denny's to the rescue. Not sure why all the negative reviews here on Yelp but kind of figure it's the people here in East Texas not so much the restaurant staff. Dash quoted me a delivery time between 40 and 60 minutes and my food was here exactly 45 minutes after I placed the order. The driver was a little lost but that's nothing to complain about because I do live out in the middle of nowhere. What I can complain about is that the driver did not read the directions that I had given when I placed my order. This would have solved a lot of headaches and the food would have been delivered a lot sooner. Order number one - brisket melt with a side order of hash browns. This was husband approved and he enjoyed every bit of it. Order number two - patty melt with a side order of seasoned fries. Anybody who knows Denny's knows it's all about their season fries that's it that's all the sides you need. Patty melt was delicious and fresh. Burger was juicy & onions cooked perfect. Order number three - appetizer combo which we included Buffalo bites, onion rings, chips & queso, and chicken strips. This is the perfect picky kid approved meal because it offers a little bit of everything. We decided on a side of the new Nashville hot sauce and that sauce is absolutely delicious. I wish they had given us a few more of those cuz my daughter definitely did enjoy them and this is usually a child that just likes ranch dressing with her chicken nuggets. Order number four - cobb salad this included bacon, fresh avocado, tomatoes, cheese, hard boiled eggs and potato sticks on top of iceberg lettuce. Dressing of choice of course was Ranch. It was a good salad minus the Potato Sticks there was just way too many of them and they did not add any nice flavor or texture to the salad at all. Firstly, I don't understand why this restaurant became so damn expensive; it used to be more affordable than IHOP. After the experience I had at this location, I'm continuing to eat at IHOP. The diner itself was nice and clean but I was curious about why half the restaurant was closed off. I ordered a Moons Over My Hammy. It's basically and ham, cheese, and scrambled egg sandwich. I was asked how I wanted my eggs; scrambled, obviously, because that's how they're made for the sandwich. My spouse ordered the All American Slam, eggs are scrambled with cheese. They were asked how they wanted their eggs; scrambled , duh. Tell me why when our food arrived that we both received an EXTRA SIDE OF EGG?? Was this server new? Did the server not know the menu? I should not have paid this ticket. In fact, I should have spoken to management about it instead of sitting on it and eating anyway. I was very hungry and ate, despite knowing there shouldn't have been an extra side of egg. As for the food quality itself, half the sandwich was soggy and the hashbrowns were greasy bits of crunch; hardly edible. I know me saying I'll never come to this location again won't do much to hurt the business, but I do hope it elicits better training of the servers and learning the damn menu. read more

Worst service and food I've ever received at a Denny's. Kyle was our server, we got only 1 cup of coffee, no refills, food was cold when it got to us, took him 10 mins plus just to bring water and the place was empty. I'm sorry Denny's but the company is losing my business permanently. I mean, it Saturday morning, endless hot coffee and a hot breakfast isn't too much to ask. What can I say, it is Dennys. Everybody has heard of Dennys. My friend and I went in and ordered the Superslam special. Eggs, bacon, sausage links, hashbrowns and two pancakes with a side of toast(additional $$$) and two coffees. The waitress was nice enough, brought our food out in a timely manner, I had to wait about another 5 minutes for my toast but whatever. She wasn't super attentive when it came to checking on us between ordering and recieving our food, I would've liked another refill of coffee but oh well. The girl Faith has the worst customer service. I tried to pay and she was not paying attention to my payment method because she kept turning around to have a conversation with her co workers. After 5 minutes I finally made my payment and walked away. My sister was up next, as she was walking up to the register to pay, Faith turned around and told her co worker to take over the register because they have an attitude and this ain't my job. I guess she didn't know it was my sister. If she's going to be at the register then she needs better customer service if not find another job or better yet maybe she can become her own boss so she can chill and have all conversations she wants. We did speak to the manager to report it so hopefully she gets some kind of training. I will say our waitress was really good and was very attentive to our party of 15. read more

Quite possibly the worst and most uncomfortable experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Walked in shortly after 11:00 on a Saturday night. 1st thing I noticed was a guy in shorts and a sleeveless shirt sweeping up within 15 feet of the door. Was seated quickly and apparently he was the husband/boyfriend/significant other of a waitress who had the area right next to ours. He then sat in a booth directly across from us and glared at the waitress and her every move. She had a couple come in and order (while he was peering over from the booth next to them) and when their food arrived (unfortunately the gentleman ordered a steak for some unknown reason) it was very, very small apparently. When he questioned the waitress about it, her dude in the next booth popped up and went to her aid and confronted the man. Our food was edible but not much better than that. Needless to say, I won't go back in this Denny's and maybe not any other one since there is apparently no management or supervising. I gave it a 1 star since that's the lowest that is allowed. read more

After 15 minutes we asked to be moved due to "eating noises" that can only be described as very unpleasant. When the food came out it was incorrect. My daughter and I had some slow service when a big group came in shortly after us and my waitress wasn't around much. We noticed the manager delivering food and staying really busy helping. I never got the ticket so I went to the register to pay and the manager overheard me say I barely saw her and he discounted our ticket and gave me future discounts to use. This is a review based on a late Saturday evening visit (after midnight - Sunday morning)...We had spent the evening in the emergency room for my elder grandma and we hadnt eaten, so my uncle, mother, and I passed by Denny's for some late night food. It was busy despite being a rainy Saturday night and only ONE wait staff who was doing it all, busing, ordering, registers,...who knows..possibly even cooking the food!! We order BYO Slam, All American Slam, and Moons over my Hammy...Everything came out great...I was in town from New York (raised in Cali where Denny's was a Staple, not so much in NYC), so I truly missed the Moons over my Hammy (fav dish).. While I was a fan of the food, this review is to give a personal shout out to the server staff member who was holding down the fort during our visit: James Tyler S..I truly hope your hard work gets noticed and rewarded by management and this is to let you know that we noticed your hard work and it was truly appreciated given our evening up until then!! Keep up the great work, and to management/upper management, know that you truly have a gem in James Tyler! I hope you acknowledge and reward..people with that type of work ethic, customer service are far a few these days!! I don't think we will ever be going back to Denny's. I saw the score from the health department was a D after we had already eaten. There was food on the floor along with either bird or chicken feathers and the workers kept walking around all of it instead of sweeping it up. The restaurant was practically empty, apparently everyone knew about the bad health report except us and another man. The container on the table that holds the small jelly packets was nasty with dust and lint in the bottom. It was shown to the waitress and she took it but never brought it back to our table. We have enjoyed eating here in the past. Food was always good with prompt service. Needless to say we want be going back. read more

So I ordered food online and it said 20 mins it will be ready to pick up. Well I get there and there's no food ready. I had to wait additional 15 mins on the food. There was no apology for the issue or anything. They acted like it was normal not to have the food out on time when ordered. I will not be returning to Denny's ever again lost my business for good. Very unprofessional and I hope this issue doesn't happen to everyone. This review would of been different if there would of been some kinda of apology for the issue but there wasn't and this is why they get a 1 star.
