It was massive. It could've used more seasoning, salt etc. But the meat was of good quality. My husband got the blue cheese burger seasoned with cajun spice which gave it some added salt and made his burger so much better than mine. Overall, if in town, this place is a must. Quick, friendly, pretty tasty, and decent priced. Got the chicken fried steak on my visit. Portion with fries, salad, Texas toast, and sweet tea was rather scrumptious. Went through the drive-thru and ordered a burger, two fries, and a drink. The total at the speaker was $17.68, but when we got to the window it showed $14.60. So at least we weren't charged for it, but it was frustrating saying we were wrong when the price changed and the employee could have admitted he forgot. We were told the second order of fries wasn't on the ticket. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit confusing since we had ordered two. Told the employee and he said "the combo doesn't come with two fries". Which we never suggested it did, just that our order was missing an item. The employee seemed a little distracted and forgot condiments and salt and pepper a few times. The fries we did get were also on the smaller side compared to what we normally get. (In a very small bowl, compared to the regular side) Not sure what was happening but definitely not a regular experience from Jucys. It was a burger from a fresh-formed patty cooked on a hot grill and the smashed, where the edges are slightly burned but eatable. It's an incredible taste of beef that melts in your mouth and makes your tastebuds sing "hallelujah!" Add those long, fresh cut potatoes that are flashed fried to the mix and you have an amazing meal. BTW, they have free chili to eat as an appetizer or add it to your burger or fries. The burgers here are really good most of the time, the one on Gilmer Road. The people are friendly. I don't care for the free beans though as they are too spicy. However, last Monday our burgers were not as good as usual. The meat was lacking in taste and was not cooked as good as usual. Yet, this remains to be our favorite burger place. I live in Nevada so every time I come "home" I have to have a Jucy's burger So last week I pulled up to get a burger & a chicken sandwich. Once I made it home I was so ready to eat..and brag to my husband how good it is...I opened my container and was very surprised at how cold my bun was...no problem I'll warm it up...I got a knife to cut it in half and looked inside NO MEAT!!!!!...they gave me a burger with no burger!!!!...I was so pissed!!! I had to drive back across town to return this lettuce burger...once I got there the manager was so nonchalant...I asked for a refund and she never offered anything additional not even a soda for my troubles. Just passing through Longview and I was hoping that this place was going to be one of those interesting little places that you stumble on that knocks your socks off. It wasn't. I got a cheddar cheese burger and I did like the amount of veggies that they put on the burger but it was really wet and I'm not sure why because the patty wasn't especially juicy. So now my bun starts falling apart because it's drippy and messy but if that's your thing then this is your place. The French fries came out looking a little burnt but I thought well, maybe they'll be crispy but strangely they were soggy. Go figure. Place wasn't busy at all and now I understand why. Ladies were rude from the second we walked in the door, 3 of them huddled around the register too busy talking and not wanting to do anything. Our daughter (2) was trying to say hi to the one who was going to take our order and she just looked at her. Which is funny because my husband orders his extra well done and we've had problems before with them being pink in the middle. As one of the most popular places to eat a burger in Longview, I was not at all pleased with the quality of our to-go order and even less pleased with the interaction with the staff. There was nothing "juicy" about our overcooked burgers. Had I known my trip was going to be wasted, I would have thawed out the ground beef in my freezer and toasted slices of bread. When I stepped up to the counter to add a large cup of water to the order, not one of the regular cashiers came towards me to help me. The location on Gilmer road is always very clean and nice, but the original location down on Highway 80 has that old burger joint charm. Either place is a great location though for an excellent burger. If you don't leave full, then it's your fault.
