If I could give 0 stars I would we sat here for an hour and a half and got no food ended up getting it to go after waiting 45 minutes to just order, then after when we ask to get it to go they were rude about it, there was a total of 3 tables and the other tables got there food way before us after they got here after us. We tried to eat here around 10:00 on a Friday night. Our family stood at the entrance that was decorated festively for Halloween for several minutes while a server looked dismayed at us several times without any welcome. We noticed that in spite of the lovely decorations, the eating area was covered in filth with food remains from previous customers that were actually served. Finally, we were seated. As one of the maybe 4 employees approached our table, she asked another employee if we would be her last table of the night. Mind you, they are open 24/7. She proceeded to tell us her 2 previous tables walked out on her. We committed that they appeared to be understaffed. She said they were short staffed and seemed frazzled. There were only 3 other tables with a few people at each besides our family. We told her we were going to leave and try somewhere else. She smiled and replied, "thank you." On the bright side we went to Wendy's and were promptly greeted by friendly servers. Our food was hot and wonderful! Went in for breakfast and by the time we were served our meal it was time for lunch. The service was extremely slow. It took over 40 minutes for us to get our order. People were not seated in a timely manner and ended up leaving. It was a disappointing experience. Our food was just ok, not all of it warm but we had waited so long to get our food that we didn't say anything. I hope that they get it together or they might not make it. read more

A lot of locals are "hating on" Denny's especially on Grant County Information, but I think it's a great addition to the dining landscape here in Silver City. Although I dine primarily at locally owned spots, Denny's is a nice option for a sit down breakfast. On a recent visit, we were served by Veronica, who was extremely patient with my special requests (grits out before the meal, something a restaurant back home used to do) and no butter or powdered sugar on the French toast. Veronica is a polished and polite server with a bright smile and she made our Sunday breakfast experience a pleasant one. The food came out lightning fast and was just as we ordered it. A tip: Denny's has a 55+ menu on the very back page. There are some wonderful items there. read more

I had such high hopes for a consistent type Denny's experience. Fail The interior is nice (granted the restaurant is relatively new construction). Service seemed prompt at the beginning. Then went down hill. My meal came out wrong and was sent back while my 3 other members of my group ate. I thought I had seen my new meal hit the window and it just sat there. And sat there. And sat there. Not once did our waiter come back to our table to fill drinks or ask how the other 3 meals were going. As they finished their meals I had to get up and ask about my meal. "Oh here it is its ready." While grabbing the same plate that had sat in the window for over 10-15 minutes. At that time I just cancelled my order. Ridiculous. Terrible service. The first time eating here in person the manager made a huge scene in front of dozens of customers, obliviously admitted she was on drugs(MMJ), then eventually apologized. She claimed that she couldn't honor a substitution that we had been doing for years in our home-town Denny's; eggs for bacon. Which would have been fine had we been informed in a proper manner but instead she caused a fracas. Strike #1; will never eat there in person again. Strike #2: placed on online order months later, after my fiancé gave birth it was the only thing she wanted and insisted we order for delivery. The online platform wouldn't allow me to add grilled onions to my hash browns for some odd reason. So I called the restaurant so they could add it for me and I can pay the difference. Upon answering the phone, the lady on the phone had a terrible attitude and stopped speaking to me almost immediately claiming to her manager that she "couldn't do that, and didn't know how." A few seconds later she hung up, upon calling back they recognized my number so the phone was picked up and immediately hung up. I waited two minutes and called back and someone finally answered and claimed that "they had already made the change for me", but no one ever charged me nor was informed that they were willing to make the change. I sit here writing this post praying to god that when my order arrives it will be correct. What a nuisance! read more

Seeing that other major restaurants in town were closed..Remembering that Dennys franchise of always being OPEN was a peaceful decision of where to go for dinner. Entire experience was stupid and a waste of time. Couldn't place an online order, so tried to call it in which directed me to a call center in India. I wanted eggs, hash-browns and pancakes, but they said I had a third option for sides. They wouldn't let me just order more eggs. They wanted to charge me extra for them instead of just letting the 3rd option be eggs! I told them to transfer me to the restaurant, surely they'd be able to do it. The person on the phone said she couldn't take call in orders, only online and they couldn't "sub anything".....for goodness sakes. Finally I get an order placed, go back to pick it up and the food was wrong. My wife's eggs were practically raw (supposed to be over medium) and they didn't pack one of my kid's meals. Tried calling the restaurant to let them know so I could pick it or get a refund, no answer. Tried calling 5 times. They weren't busy, atmosphere was dry, low pitiful energy and unpleasant. They can keep the $6 for the kids meal. Will never go back! read more

This is a newer Denny's, replacing the old Red Barn Steakhouse next to the Copper Manor motel. It was a welcome sight for us as we came in cold from a winter Silver City evening and were greeted with hot coffee, lots of refills, and a delicious pie and ice cream. As it is, I presume a 24 hour place, it was hopping late at night with teens rolling in from some dance or formal, so it's a lively place. I don't make it down to Silver but once a year or so it is nice to have a place like this here and near all the motels. read more

The service was terrible. We placed our order. Our drink order was incorrect. Asked for lemon but never got it. Our breakfast order was wrong. My daughter never got her pancakes. We asked for a side of hash-browns but never got it. The bacon looked reheated. Her grapes looked old and we're not appetizing. She said they tasted weird. Our waiter only checked on us once but this was after we finished our meal. We were still charged for the hash-browns and for her pancakes which we never got. Lunch. Mid-week. 2PM. The restaurant is empty except for 3 guys in black jackets wandering around. Cooks, busboys, servers ? We're seated and one takes our orders. By choice we're seated in the back dining room. Our food arrives, prepared as ordered. The person says "I'll check back". We're there 90 minutes. He never checks back. No drink refills. No employee ever enters the dining room during that time. After eating we wait for a check. It never arrives. We get up and head toward the register. Two employees, including our server (?) are sitting at the counter playing games on their laptops. The third guy is sitting in a booth on his phone. we say "We're all set". No response. We go to the register. A manager (?), Devan, appears. We have no check to give him. He looks on the computer and tells us the total. I mention we never saw our server after getting our meals, never got drink refills, and never got a check. He mumbles something like "OK". Wow. A new low has been reached for service. read more

When Denny's first arrived they were overwhelmed with so many customers and probably why there were some negative reviews. My wife is disabled and so we get meals to go. The service has been good as was the food. Last year on the 4th of July we took some out of town guests to Wranglers. There were only 4 other tables that were occupied so we should have gotten excellent service and food. Just the opposite. I still get angry about how we were treated. I've lived here in Silver 17 years and have never complained about a restaurant and my wife has been here 54 years and has never had a worse time than that July 4th last year. read more

This Denny's is a great addition to our community. They have their specials which keep the menu new and fresh. Each restaurant in town has great items on their menu that you can't necessarily get at the others. If you are a Denny's fan this one opened just last year. Just spent over two hours at our local Denny's . AWEFUL service when our food was up our waitress was outside smoking . ( only 2 tables in the restaurant at the time )After awhile we got our food and it was cold she forgot some of our items . In every town I've lived in, I've always enjoyed eating at my local Denny's because of their great cuisine and their variety of menu items. Of course, when Silver City opened up the new Denny's- I was eager to go in and enjoy some of my favorites. Here is how it went: The parking lot was packed, so I knew that others shared my anticipation of the new place to eat. Once I arrived, it took less than 10 minutes for my party and me to be seated. The facilities were clean and very well decorated. The hostess seemed nice, and left us for our waitress- who unexpectedly failed to show. We sat and waited for at least 15 minutes and tried gathering the attention of anyone who might be able to help; but our attempts were unsuccessful. Staff members passed us without even asking if we had been helped. We didn't even get our drinks. Finally, we were able to ask the front hostess if we could get some assistance. Our waitress showed up sloppily and without and apology, but that wasn't the worst of it. She greeted us with an "oh sh*t, what can I get you guys?" I was shocked at her lack of professionalism and instantly felt that I was not prioritized as a customer. Once the food arrived it was classic Denny's taste and appearance and definitely satisfied me, but I couldn't get past the rudeness of our server. I have been back several times and have been consistently disappointed with the quality of service. The food does not disappoint, but poor people skills makes for an unpleasant experience. Today, Labor Day 2018, was our second visit to this Denny's in Silver City. The first time was about a week after they opened. On our first visit we gave them slack because they obviously didn't quite have it all together. The service was S.L.O.W. and the food mediocre, but the server was pleasant and the atmosphere was clean and, well, new. We didn't love waiting to be seated and waiting for *meh* food, but it was good to see the place busy and, as I said, they were new. So, fast-forward about a year to our second visit. As we entered the building, it was 12:30pm and there were lots of people sitting and standing in the lobby. A lot of customers, that is. No employee at the cash register. No employee seating people. The restaurant was not in any way full. My estimate is that PERHAPS one-quarter-to-one-third of the tables had occupants and I saw only 1 person eating at the counter. It was unclear where in the crowded area we should stand in order eventually to be seated, and so as to avoid obstructing people who were trying to pay. Because we stood there for 10 minutes before an employee came out to the lobby, we had the opportunity to hear many comments such as one elderly couple who muttered that they had been waiting for 40 minutes in a booth for their food, and they were leaving then without ever having received their order. We should have heeded their warning, as it turns out. During our 10 minute wait in the lobby, a party of 4 who were already inside the restaurant when we arrived, left. They said they had been waiting Too Long. As it turns out, of all the people crammed into the lobby, we were one of two groups to be seated. Two. So that means somehow all the others were waiting to pay. We should have taken that hint, too. We were seated by a friendly person who indicated our server would be right with us. Well, maybe not "right" away but still reasonably soon, a young woman who didn't introduce herself but whose nametag read Skylar, asked what we'd like to drink. A little bit of a wait later we got our drinks. My coffee was only just over half filled. *sigh* Oh well, we would be getting refills. Ever the optimist. Just let me say at this juncture that Skylar is very sweet and pleasant and I have nothing against her personally. I hold management of the restaurant responsible for the poor service. About 10 minutes after delivering our drinks, Skylar came back to take our food order. We got more coffee then. Not because she offered, but because we asked for it. Skylar didn't stop by to ask how we were doing, or offer any explanation at all as to the wait. Just once when she was passing by did she throw over her shoulder a comment suggesting our food would be "right up." That was after we'd been waiting for a half hour. And we asked her again for more coffee as she breezed by our table. She brought it in a few minutes but, again, we had to flag her down and request it. The food arrived 20 minutes after that. No kidding! By this time we were keeping a sharp eye on the time. Now, I want to point out that there was not a shortage of wait staff apparent. Granted, they can't serve what's not coming out of the kitchen; however, it is my opinion that they should have been much more attentive to their customers - keeping us informed as to the reason for the slow food prep, and doing everything reasonably within their power to keep us placated. Something as simple as frequently offering coffee and perhaps crackers or bread and butter. That's not what happened. As it was, we were left to stew about the delay and then only to overhear another waitress informing her table about the short-staffing. We overheard later that it was not waitstaff but kitchen staff that was short handed. Skylar said not word one about it until she brought our food FIFTY MINUTES after we had been seated and ONE HOUR after we had entered the restaurant. (My pancakes were rubbery but I didn't complain because I was very hungry by that time and couldn't imagine how much longer I might have had to wait to get fresh ones!). We told her the food had arrived JUST in time as we were just about to walk out. She said, "Yes, I know. Sorry for the wait." She was polite but it was too little too late. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: friendly, timely communication makes ALL the difference. It is customary for restaurants to tell their customers how long they can expect to wait, if the restaurant is experiencing delays. Such difficulties happen. There should have been friendly, helpful staff AT THE DOOR, greeting people and letting them know how long a wait they might reasonably expect. Olive Garden comes to mind. We left zero tip. Sorry, Skylar. And we will not be returning to Denny's. We are locals who will tell other locals and all of our visitors about our experiences at this Denny's, as well as providing this constructive criticism to management via Yelp. read more

Great addition to the town--brand new premises, clean, delicious and ample servings of food, attentive and quick servers and reasonable prices. My partner was extremely pleased with his steaks and potatoes and desserts every time we went there. The server was quick with his refills and looking after whatever he needed quickly. I on the other hand got cold tortillas, a disgusting and inedible steak, and when they brought him his take-out dessert, they left mine in the kitchen. Having just had a meal there I found out it was just like the Denny's in Deming. Food service is bad meaning my food was all cold before it was served. It took them 25 minutes to cook and serve me cold food !! I have run a restaurant myself and this should never happen ! My toast felt like it had been sitting out some where, my omelette was not only cold but it had burnt meat in it , how many times did they try to cook this meat before trying to pass it off to a customer ?? And my hash browns were like everything else cold.I might as well make myself a sandwich and a piece of fruit, it would be much cheaper and always be the same. Spending 19.00$ for this meal was a waste of money by me. I also need to mention the Men's room where the only stool was in a stall that was locked from the inside with no one in there and the urinal was about 2 feet off the floor.Personally it was a huge waste of my time , I thought a new restaurant might be a good idea boy was I wrong !! read more
