On a recent day trip to Silver City, we found this great spot for breakfast. Immediately upon entering we knew we had made a good choice. The lobby area was warm and inviting and the counter service was excellent. Our food (Breakfast Burrito and Raspberry/Almond Scone) was delivered soon after we found a table on the back patio (there is no indoor seating) and settled in. Great food, though a little pricey for ordering at the counter. $40 for 2 breakfast sandwiches and coffee. I did get a sparkling water though as well. The scrambled eggs and melted pepper jack on the ciabatta rolls were good-juicy sausage, green chili and a bacon jam - but the bottom bread slices were totally soggy so I'm not sure how they'd fix that. The potatoes were cooked perfectly but not really seasoned. I went back in to grab a picture of the menu board (mostly egg dishes, salads, and oatmeal options) and ended up getting a coffeecake muffin to go for another $4 with tax, which ended up being the highlight of the meal! Super moist buttery poundcake with cinnamon swirled in and streusel on top. Epic! I also hear they have lunch items like a tray of smoked and roasted chicken that walked by our table (yum yum) and ceviche(!) I enjoyed the patio and music as well, though of course being outside you may deal with flies (I did but my partner did not). Really nice people working / walking around outside to help bring needed things like ketchup. Overall I'll go back to try some more of the baked goods (their scones looked delicious too) and that smoked chicken. read more

It's rare to visit a place that not only feels like you've come home but has you smacking your lips so hard you think about moving just so you can eat there every day. Corner kitchen has staff that are genuinely happy to be there and it shows by how they interact with you. The dining hall has a nostalgic comfort feel. Howard often feels like a heart of the community the way he welcomes newcomers and those who clearly frequent the place. But let's talk about the food. I had the pleasure and privilege to eat four different meals, a cookie and a scone. I can't choose which I loved more. The breakfast --frittata with ham and cheese and a side salad with the most perfect lemon dressing over perfectly picked greens-- was my most recent eat. A real gem at the end of the road. Enter at the corner and the menu stands before you. Order your meal, grab a drink, and pay at the counter. You can sit outside or in a room out back with fans and a cooler. Service was polite and attentive, and I soon had my meal. I ordered the salmon kale salad, thinking at least it would be healthier for me than the beans and cheese served everywhere else in town. It was sublime, with the salmon cooked perfectly, and the grill on the veg was a nice touch. If you are craving well prepared meals and are stuck in a town with little to choose from, this is the place to wander into at the end of the road on the corner. read more

Most excellent breakfast! This place is a sweet gem, off the main drag in Silver City, NM. We were looking for a home-town kind of place, & this is it! With a very limited breakfast specials menu: egg scramble, breakfast burrito, or oak bake, the food is hot & delicious. Al fresco dining (COVID protocol) but lunch will be served in the newly renovated "warehouse" seating area. Howard, the owner, was most gracious. Open 9:30-2:30 Thursday through Monday & THEY SELL OUT! So, make sure you're there at 9:30 for breakfast or Noon for lunch. The food was so-so; I ordered eggs and biscuits and gravy. The gravy had sausage which I should have asked about; my bad. The biscuits were cold although the eggs were hot. Hubby enjoyed the asparagus omelette. The dining area was pretty strange -- out the back door and in another to eat in a rustic area. Waited another 15 minutes and that time was told the system lost our order. Requested a refund but did not take the tip out of the tip jar. No response from Howard at this time. Stopped in for breakfast and very glad we did! My husband had the breakfast burrito with bacon. It was huge and very tasty. I had the breakfast salad with eggs, salmon, avocado and summer squash. Wow! I haven't had salmon cooked that well in years, the eggs were cooked to order and the squash was perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of bite all served over nicely seasoned mixed greens.
