We reached out to Denon & Doyle for their photo booth services as they came highly recommended from our wedding coordinator. We received a response from Sue within 24 hours and the whole process from there on out was easy and seamless. While Denon & Doyle was the only photo booth vendor we reached out to, upon research of several other providers, we realized Denon & Doyle had by far, the most variety and options at a very reasonable price. Not only did they offer different photo booth styles (open booth, a more traditional closed booth, in-motion, etc), but they also offered a a number of lighting options, backdrops (sequins, floral, streamers), and photo templates (strips vs 4x6). We decided to go for the open booth as we felt it would be the best fit for our reception space and vibe. From there, we worked with Megan on designing our template. She was very accommodating with incorporating our custom monogram, matching up the font type with the rest of our wedding stationary and paper goods, and playing around with various formats to settle on the design we liked best. On the day of the wedding, the photo booth set up went smoothly. Our attendant was kind and professional with helping our guests with props and navigating the process. We were pleased that the booth printed high quality photos to take home and also gave guests an option to email and text the images to themselves for easy sharing. The booth got traffic all night long and was clearly a hit. A few days after the wedding, we received a full photo booth link where we could see all the photos taken over the course of the night. Tim was our DJ for our wedding in March 2018. Working with Denon and Doyle was incredibly easy in the lead-up to the ceremony and day of performance was fantastic. Tim got a feel for our musical taste (we can be picky) and did a great job integrating our favorites, adhering perfectly to our "do-not plays," but also responding to requests from our guests and even picking a few tracks on his own that kept our guests on the floor all night. Absolutely brilliant experience. Susan Doyle and Brian Holmes set us up with Ronnie, our deejay for the night. He drove two hours out to our venue and still got there early. After setting up the reception hall for sound, he made the wedding ceremony flawless, including wiring up and mic-checking our officiant with plenty of time to spare. We appreciated his attention to detail, as well. He took the time to run through the playlist with me for the ceremony and his timing was just right. During the reception, Ronnie was fun, engaging, and picked solid music that was completely in keeping with our desired music choices for the night. From the first time we arrived at the Showcase in Pleasant Hill, we were sold on Denon and Doyle. They do a beautiful, relaxed, informative presentation, with DJ's present to talk to. I went with my daughter and her now husband. After talking with several of the DJ's, they chose Chris. Chris totally got it with the "flavor" of the wedding that my daughter was trying to achieve - casual but well executed. Just like was said at the presentation, the DJ's will fill in where there is a need. Chris was right there to help out the other vendors, he got us drinks plus he set up the speakers and audio perfectly and thoughtfully in both the ceremony site and the reception area. He was seamless, professional, personable and we loved having him there. He needed no instruction as to what to do or where to do it and we knew we could leave him to do his business and rely on him to do his part. Denon and Doyle was the EASIEST vendor decision we made when planning our March 2011 wedding! After 4+ people individually recommended them and after reading all the reviews and going to their open house event they put on monthly, it was a slam dunk! Our DJ was Mark Haggarty and he did an amazing job throughout the evening! The dance floor was PACKED all night! I also had several phone conversations with Mark prior to our wedding and he was so helpful and had many great suggestions! Mark worked seamlessly with our on-site event director and I never had to worry about anything all night! Denon & Doyle is INCREDIBLY organized and professional! We had Tyrone and Felipe man the music for our wedding. We really appreciated their adaptability when the schedule got derailed (of course it always happens)! They were able to figure out our projector and computer without me giving them any instructions, and this is a very finicky projector! They also adjusted the sound setup "on the fly" to amplify the music for our outdoor performer. There was also a smart re-adjustment by Tyrone to skip out on the table-to-table photos in order to give more time for the "dance with parents". I put together an initial playlist to give an idea of what we wanted; then we shared it with an event coordinator and talked to him on the phone, and he put together a more extended playlist for our wedding and prepped the DJ for the day of. Sue was incredibly helpful and easy to work with going through the planning process, and she was so kind and understanding when we had to postpone a few times because of COVID. We finally got to have our wedding last weekend, and our DJ Kevin was fantastic! We heard all of our "must-play" songs and most if not all of the "play if it works" ones - even though we had some random, lesser-known artists and songs it all worked so well and there was always a group on the dance floor through the whole night. Hired Denon & Doyle for our wedding just last month. Price is pretty much the same as other DJ companies but their addt'l hour isn't as expensive as others. Love their online "wedding planning form" which you can utilize as a guide to plan your party. You can make your payment as well through their website and you can totally do installment payments on there. Usually they just assign a DJ that they think best suits you and your needs. I decided to pick out DJ Chris Mowery even though I had never met him. Didn't see him at their DJ showcase either. I just solely relied on the raves I keep reading about him both here on yelp and another wedding website. It was convincing enough for me this guy is a PRO. I didn't even meet him till we are just 2 weeks away from our wedding. These people sure were right about him and MORE. I had no idea that this DJ was more than a freakin DJ/MC. He made sure to bring champagne and hors d' oeuvres for me after the ceremony while we were taking photos. He was also assisting our photographers, food servers, he was checking in with our guests during dinner asking them if they need anything else and kept everyone updated on the Giants score as well. lol I was like who is this guy?? i thought I just hired him as our MC/DJ?? He did way above and beyond on everything! He was ON IT with all the music he played as well. He also did a fantastic job as an MC. Got all the names correctly. Very professional and stayed classy. He isn't one of those annoying, obnoxious and ghetto MC/DJ.. Even had a surprise fun game for me and my husband that sure added entertainment to our guests! At the end of the night, he also gave us a copy of the mix of all the songs played at our wedding which my husband left in the tuxedo he rented! Emailed him couple of days later and asked him if he could possibly send us one again and he did and mailed us one right away! So happy and impressed with Chris. He exceeded all of my expectations. Choosing an MC/DJ for your wedding is one of the most important vendor you have to decide on when planning your wedding. I would love to give D&D below one star, but that is the least I can give. D&D DJ'd a friend's wedding and I thought they did a decent job, so when it came time to choose for my wedding, I thought why not, I have seen what they do. During the planning phase, they were very helpful in answering questions and providing recommendations. I spoke with, I believe, Mark a few days before our wedding to make sure everything was in order. I had provided my own complete list of songs for the special dances as well as the dinner and dancing music. We got to our reception and I spoke briefly with the DJ and everything appeared to be in order. UNTIL, we were announced, walked across the floor to do our 1st dance and waited...and waited. The DJ had broken our 1st dance CD (it was a unque song that was shortened just for us). Weird that he hadn't checked it or brought a back up, I think. My brother in law went to my house to get my iPod to try to fix the situation, but that did not work. Finally, after everyone was actually finished eating and sitting around (2 hours later), another DJ brought another disc so we were able to do our 1st dance song. I was obviously very caught up in the moment of things and it did not dawn on me until after our night was over that: 1. The DJ did not play a SINGLE song off of the list of dinner and dancing songs I had provided. 2. Nor did he play the mother son song. In addition, someone made a request and he actually told them he wasn't taking requests because he already screwed up, so why bother. When I emailed to discuss what had happened with the company, after a few e mail exchanges where I was trying to get to the root of what happened and why. I guess my tone was deemed inappropriate, who wouldn;t be a little upset in this situation? The owner said some not very professional things and BLOCKED my email address and they would not take our calls. They did refund ALL of our $, but to be honest, some things go beyond $. Now, I say this, as there are so many companies to choose from, why pick one that handles a situation like this. I am sure this was a fluke, but this is a day that I can not get back and the music was truly one of the most important parts to me or should have been. read more

We used Denon & Doyle (DnD) as our DJ for our wedding; DnD also provided our photobooth. We selected Richard as our DJ, who we met through the meet and greet at DnD's studio earlier in the planning process. We instantly clicked with Richard when we met him and knew he'd make a great DJ for our event. He definitely did that. Elegant Touch of Stings provided our music for the ceremony, so DnD provided our music for all of our reception. Richard coordinated with Elegant Touch of Strings beautifully. We had a number of our songs selected for the big items during the reception (cake cutting, the dances, etc.), but were undecided as to our entrance song. We gave Richard a lot of leeway to select that song, as well as most of the songs during the evening. We gave DnD a long list of "no play" songs (we go to so many weddings every year that the list has become quite extensive), as well as general descriptions of our likes and dislikes. Richard carried out the evening flawlessly. His announcements were all made in good taste and with good timing. Guests were dancing throughout the evening and everyone commented that they had a blast dancing all night. We go to several weddings every year (at least 5-6 per year for the past several years) and Richard was one of the better DJs that we have heard. We are so glad we selected Richard and DnD for our DJ needs. The photobooth was really well done as well (we decided to go with the booth and not a separate photographer). The operator was very considerate and even put aside the photos of my wife and I for us so that we didn't need to worry about the copies throughout the evening. The guests loved the opportunity to take pictures and had a lot of fun with the wide variety of costumes and props that DnD brought with them. The photos were high quality and DnD offered a lot of different options for layout of the prints. Plus, DnD worked with us to perfect the image and message on the print so that it perfectly matched our theme. At the end of the evening, we received a thumb drive with copies of all of the pictures as well as our personal prints. We had a blast going through everything and seeing everyone's pictures. Our only regret is that there wasn't enough time in the evening for everyone to take even more pictures. read more

Since there are a million things for you to do while planning a wedding, the last thing you want to do is agonize over choosing your DJ. That's where Denon & Doyle come in. They make the process sooooo easy! You get to choose your own music, and choose what music you do NOT want them to play (although they DID play the Chicken Dance at the insistence of my husband's aunt). They give you a little booklet for you to fill out with all the significant names (i.e. wedding party, parents, etc.) and you also tell them what order you want the night to progress (first dance, speeches, bouquet toss). You also dictate what 'style' you want your DJ to have- if you want them to totally run the whole show and be completely out-going or if you just want them to be fairly quiet and low-key the whole time. Their prices are kind of high, but, as they say, you get what you pay for. read more

Despite a very detailed instruction sheet, they played the wrong song for the Father-daughter dance (couldn't correct it, so I was forced to dance to bad song)... keep in mind, only time my father has been on a dance floor since the 50's! I used Denon & Doyle for my recent wedding and it was o-k. We went to an event at their warehouse in Pleasant Hill where they go over what they do at weddings, song ideas, game ideas, samples of music & lighting and such and they seemed to know what they were doing so we booked them. We were told that 2 weeks before the wedding we would be contacted by their coordinator to go over what our song choices were for all of the entrances, special dances, garter toss, bouquet toss, cocktail hour music selections and genre and reception dance music/genre, pronunciation of names, bridal party entrance line up and such. Around 2 weeks before the wedding I got an email with a long online form to fill out with the details rather than a call, no biggie. I started on it and saved as I added things. About a week before the wedding the "coordinator" called me to hash out the final details as well. Cool! He was nice, gave him all the info and spent a good amount of time on the phone with him. To this point still a solid 4-5 stars! Day of the wedding. What happened?!?! 1) Everyone in the bridal party is being lined up to enter the reception and the DJ had the order all wrong. We went over this over the phone and online. 2) Entrance song never played until we were already in the reception and on the dance floor and even then, it was a 30 second clip!?! Instead of music let alone the song I asked for, the DJ got everyone to clap in sync. 3) My father is being introduced for his speech and the DJ totally botches our last name. You have been dealing with me and had my contract for how long at this point??? Like 8 months! And we went over this as well! I can understand maybe someone from the bridal party but the guy who wrote you the check?!?!? 4) I asked at the contract signing, interviewed the different DJ's at their on site event on who knew 80's music, wrote it on the online form and over it on the phone when they called to verify that the DJ played a big 80's mix (which I even gave examples of songs) in the beginning so that the older and younger crowd could all relate and get out there to dance. Instead he started with hip hop and all of the older people went home SUPER early. (The younger crowd had fun but it was supposed to be 80's to please the masses!) At the end of the night I would have still even rated them a 3 despite the above. One thing I will give him credit for was I did ask that one of my husbands buddies that doesn't have a filter was not allowed to make a speech. When my hubby's buddy asked the DJ to make a speech, he did listen to that part and he did come to ask me. My husband said to let his buddy do it and the DJ told him "the dress wins" and he had to hear it from me. I did let his friend make the speech (and happy to report it went way better than I could have hoped for) but the fact that the DJ checked and had to get my ok scored big in my book! Maybe even got it from a 3 back to a possible 4 stars. So why the 2 star review you ask? Because after all of that, the "coordinator" send me a followup email asking for feedback on the event in which I outlined the above. I took the time to respond with the above experience and not even a "thanks for your feedback", "got it", "note taken", "sorry". He didn't even respond. So for wasting my time with the list and call, botching my last name, not doing what was promised and asked and then no caring once you asked for my feedback. My wife and I got married at Rancho Nicasio on June 20th and had Jason Wheat as our DJ. Jason was there early and was on auto-pilot in regards to setup. Every single aspect about him was extremely "high-and-tight" in regards to his professionalism. He clearly knew his job and knew his equipment. Most important, he was extremely polite, fun and social. He kept everything going smoothly and without a hitch. Everyone thought he was fantastic and we could not have been any more pleased. LOVED our DJ for our wedding!!! I can't say enough how awesome Louis was. He not only made the music portion flawless with having several areas to our venue that needed sound, but he also checked in on us and even made sure I had champagne in my glass. Everything went smoothly and effortlessly. From the ceremony, to cocktails to dinner and toast all the way to dancing not only did the music flow exactly as I had envisioned, but he was FUN!! SO MUCH FUN! I can not tell you how many people, both old and young came up to us during the wedding and Sunday at the other functions we had for the wedding, how amazing he was and how much they enjoyed him not just as a DJ but as the MC for the evening. We had so much fun on the dance floor and even with a snafu from drunk guest, Louis kept his cool and kept the party going. Denon & Doyle make the entire process easy. They have open houses so you can meet the different Dj's and then when you book they have a lengthy form you fill out with all the specifics and requests so when it comes down to the big day- there are no surprises. I had heard so many friends complain about Dj's being disorganized but that could not be more opposite to Denon & Doyle. Total professionals, and totally worth every penny!! We contacted Denon & Doyle very last minute about djing our wedding last month. Sue was extremely accommodating and Brian was very helpful on the phone with the logistics. They were also reasonably priced! (7 hours = $900, approx). Stephanie was our DJ for the day and she was spectacular. Everything was so smooth, Stephanie was so nice and friendly. She was the perfect fit and made our day that much better. She knew what music to play and went off the list I had originally put together with some help. She was able to read the guests well and kept everyone dancing the whole night. When it got too hot/stuffy in our venue, the guests moved to the patio and she and a friend of mine worked to get the speaker outside so we could keep dancing out there. She was absolutely wonderful. 5 stars for our DJ Patrick, he was a consummate professional and really adept at getting our guests out on the dance floor. It was easy to see that he was an old hand and knew exactly what he was doing. he is also quite a stylish dresser. my friends later told me they saw him on tv, working for a celebrity event. not sure if that's true, but still cool to know my dj was of such high regard. However, the reason I give only three stars is because I was not happy with the customer service. The manager seemed snobby when we ran into some issues, which is not unexpected given that they probably get a lot of business that he can afford to be rude to one customer. But I was especially turned off when he seemed annoyed at my requests and questions. It's a wedding, man. it may be a daily grind for him, but for each bride, it's a once-in-a-lifetime. you can't screw up this kind of thing. not unless you want bridezillas on ya! read more

AMAZING!!!!!!! This company was recommended by my wedding coordinator and everything was absolutely wonderful. We hired Denon and Doyle for our DJ/emcee as well as photobooth. 1) Very professional! Never had to contact them, they would contact me first! 2) They KNOW what they're doing and they KNOW weddings so they were very helpful with running of things day of and other details you may not know if you're a first time wedding planner. 3) At first we booked Ed, but due to a date mix up ( the ONLY thing that wasnt absolutely perfect, but man they were super professional about it) we ended up with Richard which actually worked out wonderful! RICHARD (DJ) is amazing! He's FUN interacts with the crowd, checks in with the couple, works with venue and coordinator. MAKES THINGS EASY!!! Ok, so I was at a Bar Mitzvah and saw D&D do their thing and said I have to have them, then I reached out and saw the price tag... dramatic pause - you don't need to rationalize it -its WORTH it! THEN I met with them and booked their services! They do it right and will MAKE your event - soup to nuts - I'm talking meeting, planning, execution, follow-through they are the real deal and can even help outside the box with lighting, photo booth, give-a-ways etc.. Always nice, always professional, always honest of what they can and can't do, even after they get paid!. I must admit, we had a bit of a snafu with some lighting and Dan, Mason and the team stepped up, took ownership of the issue and made it right! That was the differentiator, not all talk, but follow through and true Customer Service. oh, how i wish there were reviews posted of these guys when i was looking. they bill themselves as the non-cheesy dj; ironic because some of their presentation is just that. still, they had more positive reviews than negative in the places i found, so i hired them for my summer wedding. even handpicked my dj. so maybe it was my fault that he screwed up a couple of times. but....i don't think so. he was late. so when my guests went to the area where he was set up, he wasn't ready and didn't play any music right away. after 20 minutes, i sent someone to find out WHY he wasn't playing any music. and then, suddenly, he was. another couple of little mistakes didn't break the party, but i was disappointed. more unfortunately, the company that was SO hands on and customer-service oriented before the wedding never bothered to follow up afterwards. blasted pre-payment. bummer. read more

The guests loved it, and I am really glad we went with them. Unfortunately the booth was out of commission for 45 minutes during the night, but they were generous and gave me a $100 refund. They get 4 instead of 5 stars for the simple fact the DJ chose the very first song of my daughter's wedding reception as "Let It Go" from Frozen. REALLY???? Could you have picked a more annoying overused song? For a toddler birthday party, sure, but not at an adult wedding. Just getting to this but we used Denon & Doyle as our DJ for our wedding on September 29th. We had several friends who had used this company before so we decided to go to one of their DJ expos to see what they were all about. Right away we knew we wanted to use this company! We decided on Mark Haggerty as our DJ ... Couldn't have picked a better one!!!! Mark was so professional, so calming (for the crazy bride) and so pleasant. All our guests loved him too! We basically told Mark to d what he thought was necessary to keep people on the dance floor all night long....and he did just that! I hired Denon & Doyle to DJ my wedding in June 2015. Patrick was in charge of my event. My wedding could not have turned out any better for a variety of reasons but a large part of that was the music and overall coordination provided by Patrick. Music is very important to me and Patrick met with me prior to our wedding to get an overall flavor of our day and review my likes and dislikes. He played everything I wanted and also responded to the guests requests and and general demeanor. A bonus was that Patrick is just a very personable guy, easy to work with, friendly and just all around great. I hired Denon & Doyle to DJ my wedding at Wente Vineyards. I have nothing but positive feedback to share. Our DJ, Kevin, did a fantastic job incorporating our hand-picked selections and keeping the energy up and the reception moving right along. He and the Event Director, Brian, were able to accommodate every song selection we suggested - which was incredible considering our unusual and eclectic list. Kevin also did a great job selecting songs of his own - and he even added a special song from the Beatles, after my maid of honor mentioned how the band brought us together during her toast to us. Several guests (and even the wedding photographer) told me the music was the best they've heard at a wedding. I highly recommend them for any special event. read more

As a wedding planner I have worked with Denon & Doyle and specifically DJ Ed Combong on several weddings and can't say enough wonderful things about them. The staff at D&D throughout the booking process and leading up to the weddings have been easy to work with and very accommodating for requests. But, to be quite honest, what keeps me recommending D&D to my clients is Ed Combong. He is simply the best. He is fun to work with, has a great attitude and most importantly mixes the best music! I always know that when Ed is at the controls my clients are going to have an amazing time on the dance floor. I was originally going to use Ed as my dj after reading previous yelp reviews but when I had to change the date of my wedding due to school and Ed was already booked on my new date, Patrick assigned Kevin to me- I'm so happy he did!! I used Kevin H as a dj at my wedding on August 30, 2014 and he was AWESOME!! He had the dance floor packed the entire time and everyone raved about him!! He played the best music- stuff I had not even thought about like switching it up to "sugar sugar" or whatever that song is during the cake cutting. Mark Haggerty was our DJ for our wedding on Saturday and we could not be happier! He played the best music and had our dance floor packed the entire night. I was nervous people wouldn't want to dance outside when it was still semi-light out, but that was not the case at all. He had people up on their feet the second the mother-son dance was complete. AJ, Tyler and Nicole rocked my son Sam's Bar Mitzvah! AJ relates well to the kids and kept all (kids and adults) on the dance floor. Nicole was "highly motivated" and kept the boys on the dance floor. Tyler played everything we wanted and more. My only beef is that we couldn't add MJ to the song list at the last minute. They were professional throughout and gave us excellent assistance when it came time for us to plan the night's music. On Wedding Day, we worked with Donald. Donald was amazing! I still cannot believe next month, it's going to be a year since we got married (8/14)! Time flew by super fast and I regret not posting this review earlier! We really wanted to have a photo booth at our wedding, but wanted a real one. We've seen photo "booths" that just had a colored fabric background and a photographer taking pictures, which is not what we wanted. Fortunately, thanks to Facebook, an old high school acquaintance posted pictures from the photo booth that was at her wedding. Right away I checked out their website and after inquiring about their services, we booked them. I mainly communicated with Sue throughout the whole wedding planning process. She was really nice, attentive and a pleasure to work with. She was always will to answer all the questions I had. Our guests LOVED the photo booth. Tim was in charge of the booth and was so friendly and nice to everyone. Photo booth pictures were posted online two days after if not earlier. Everyone loved his or her pictures, which were a great giveaway! I think about a week later we got a dvd of all of the pictures.
