Since I looked at some reviews that I thought were for OK Tire at 13 Wright Ave. Dartmouth but did…read morenot make any sense, being really bad reviews, I presume that these bad reviews were probably for other address, because they seemed to be completely out of place, so I want to be clear and people to understand that I am talking about OK Tire at 13 Wright Ave. I was there for a 0800hrs appointment for muffler service on Friday, July 5th, 2024. My muffler had been installed 3 years ago at another garage in Halifax and had a lifetime warranty but I could not get an early enough appointment under their new management so I decided to try this new place for me at 13 Wright Ave. The service advisor "Steve West" was professional, pleasant, respectful and efficient, and the man who replaced my muffler was a welder from Ukraine, who did what I believe to be a great job. They were very honest and did not overcharged me, unlike other places where I have dealt with in the past. One of the past place that I had dealt with in the past, as I remember, tried to charge me for 2 hours labour as I had been there for near 2 hours but I had observed that they had my car in the garage for only 50 minutes. Now, I was at OK Tire 13 Wright Ave. for near 2 hours because they had to wait for a part to be delivered. I have never seen this before, I was expecting to be charged for at least one hour labour but they charged me for the exact time that the technicien took to do the job, which was 36 minutes. Can't ask for better than that. I am now retired and I have never been given a 5 stars review by anybody, yet I am a perfectionist, so I don't see why I should give a 5 stars to anybody, yet I decided in this case to make an exception and I am giving a 5 stars. We had made an appointment for an…read morealignment, but when we arrived the tech told us our inspection was up (it was) so we got our car inspected. It failed (despite being regularly maintained) and we were given a list of "what it needs" so I went to my regular mechanic who did all the work on the list the next day. 2 days later we were able to get back in for a follow up inspection, during which they "found" a bunch more things that they'd "seen" but "forgot" to put on the original provincial inspection report. Took the car immediately to a different inspection place, and it passed with flying colours. I even asked the tech about the things that OK Tire had failed - none were even an issue. I will not be returning.

First and foremost, these guys are pros at what they do. They may not be the cheapest tire shop in…read moretown, but they are one of the best IMO. As tire shops go, this is a nice one. The space is modern and clean, and they have a waiting area that is roomy, bright, clean and comfortable. They have a large number of bays (some around back) so it is usually a busy place, but I have found them to be prompt and good at keeping their promises about when something will be ready. Unlike some of the mass marketers and chain stores, I have found the folks at Miller to not only take care in doing their work, but also taking the time to explain your options and choices, or why they are doing things a certain way. I had a balance problem that nobody else bothered to explain to me. Miller not only did the job right, but explained to me what the problem was and how it happened. You have to like that. A special shout-out to Merv Jack, who is one of the nicest guys around and has a real knack for customer service. Miller is where I will be buying tires from now on.

I purchase a travel trailer in Halifax. I needed to upgrade from a four pin trailer hitch connector…read moreto a 7 pin connector to support an electric brake controller so I could drive home to Ontario. I contacted U-Haul to do the work, they would not be available to do it until the following week. I contacted another trailer hitch place and they were also busy until the following week. The people I bought the trailer off said they had the hitch work done by Gus's Automotive a few years back and were happy with the work and price. They gave me the phone number, unfortunately I didn't realize that Gus's was no longer in business and the phone number was for Napa Autopro - Driscoll's Auto Service. Shane the owner told me to do the work would be 3, 4 hours and if it took less time I would only be billed for how long it took. He said they could do the work first thing in the morning. I was fatigued from the drive that took about 24 hours the previous day and wasn't the sharpest. I wanted to get the job done so I could drive home to Ontario. The final invoice from Napa Autopro - Driscoll's Auto was $643.57. Driscoll's Auto charged $109.95 for the Brake controller, the exact same controller on Amazon is $75.41 today (a Reese Brake controller is $43.12). I phoned up U-Haul again to verify pricing for converting from 4 pin connector to 7 pin connector and installation of a brake controller. The U-Haul quote I received by email parts and labour and all taxes was $126.38. I asked the U-Haul rep how long it would take to do the work, he said 1/2 of an hour. The person at U-Haul told me that because the 4 pin connector was already there, no work would need to be done for the lights. The ball on the trailer weight distribution hitch also needed to be moved up 1 notch, 2 bolts needed to be removed/replaced, this I would think should not take more than 10 minutes (maybe a $20 task). I am retired, this $643.57 is a massive bill for me, it makes me feel ill. My credit card bill will remind me for quite some time of my mistake. The Driscoll invoice included charges for wire, $39.98 and for unspecified supplies, $39.95. The HST alone is $83.94. I feel like a fool, a sucker, paying $643.57 to Napa Autopro - Driscoll's Auto Service for the same job that U-Haul would do for $126.38 + (maybe $20 to adjust hitch ball). When you are in a pickle and you need work on your car, you hope the garage will treat you fairly. You got me good Shane, I don't feel like a valued customer of Napa Autopro - Driscoll's Auto Service, I feel more like a victim.
