I have been here about 5 or 6 times throughout the years and I have never dealt with a rude Dentist AT ALL! Yes, some are less talkative then others but they have all been very nice and understanding of when I needed them to stop because of the pain they were causing me. They have never given me attitude or felt like they've been frustrated with me since I ALWAYS ask a lot of questions (I always want to know what they're doing and whats next etc). Also, the Dentist assistants are always nice. Even thou they're young they still make you feel comfortable and are very polite. There is one that's a little more serious she kind of looks a little mad but even then she answers all your questions and definitely knows what she is talking about. When I went in for a deep cleaning never did I think that would hurt like he** and I was shedding a couple tears and my dentist and assistant where even trying to help me get thru it, I mean they weren't talking to me the whole time, they had a job to get done, but still they were patient and didn't rush. The one thing I do overhear when I have been there is that Dentists a little overwhelmed because they are short on Dentists, so they are trying to get to everyone. They accept the medical card here and that is one reason for why they are always so busy. Even the receptionist are nice over the phone and in person. They did mess up one of my appointments once, an appointment that was very important but they apologized and helped me get the paperwork I needed and a new appointment as soon as possible. I will definitely keep coming back here for my Dentist Appointments ! read more

We have honestly never had a problem here. I've seen negative posts. We come for x-rays and cleanings. My insurance covers it just fine and it's really all we need twice a year. Dr. Gao is very nice and she is 100% honest with us. She recognizes us when we come in and it's been great since they've opened. read more

I can't rate it cause it stops at zero!! I had most my teeth took out at Crusader, never had pain, except where the needle went in. I had multiple root canals and stitches. Noo problem!! I had 3 teeth extracted and too 3 months to heal. After losing bone out of my jaw it finally healed. I WOULD NOT EVER PUT A CHILD THROUGH THAT. Fitted my dentures, while I still had broken bone sticking out of my gums. Seriously!!! Their foreign hacks getting paid to butcher our children. It would be safer to just pull it yourself!! The dentists at DENTAL DREAMS ARE SCAMMERS, always telling their customers to do ROOT CANAL over and over when the customer's teeth don't need it. Additionally, the dentist that works there is not professional, but rather a student. If the customer refused, they don't do nothing with whatever problem with the customer's teeth. Dental Dreams were the only ones at the time that would take my insurance and get me in for appt. I went for a cracked tooth and he told me my options and decided to go with crowns. Not only for the tooth that was broken but the other front tooth to match. So, I made an appointment with them. I only had to wait about 5 minutes, and I was back in the room sitting in the chair for about 30 minutes before Dentist came in. Never once told me what was going to happen. All of a sudden, he is numbing up my upper lips for my two front teeth. Well, he waited too long to come back in and he had to numb me again. Waited another 30 minutes. In the process of drilling, he was using water. OMG water was running down my neck into my hair. I was soaked with water running in my nose making me choke at one point I could not breath. Never once did they do anything about it.All of that took 3 hours. At the end of the day I got home and sent a note to the manager about being soaked like I was in a pool. He said he will have a talk with the staff. Next time I had impressions done. They called me and said my crowns were in. Came in and the crowns did not fit right so I had to get temps again and wait another two weeks. Finally, the last visit got my crown. They feel good. But I had my glasses on the counter because I did not want to get all spotted. The assistant dropped my glasses on the floor, and they broke. She was very quiet about it when I went to put them on, I looked at her and said what happened to my glasses? She very quietly said she had dropped them. Never saying I'm sorry NOTHING. Went up to the front desk and the manager said they could not do anything about it, but I will be getting a call from upper management. Went to Express eyewear and got new frames which cost $75.72. Not expecting the extra cost for the month. For the most part the Dentist did a great job. They took about 10 x-rays, 8 shots to numb me and yes, they left all kinds of stuff on my face. If I could leave 0 stars I would. The place is shabby and customer service is a joke. I've had two appointments here and had to walk out of both of them. The first time I sat in the waiting room for 2 and a half hours. Finally went back to a room and the exam chair had a split down the middle with duct tape holding it together. Dirt, litter and debris was all around on the floor. After another 30 minutes waiting there, I finally had to leave to make a soccer game. Rescheduled. 2nd time in the waiting room. An hour goes by and nothing. I went up to the desk and cancelled. The girl asked if I'd like to reschedule. Ummm no. You shouldn't have to clear your whole day for one appointment. It may not have been so bad if I would have been told that "hey, the provider is running a bit behind, there will be a wait." Ok I'm good then. If I know. I'm a medical receptionist at a busy office and this is not hot you treat your patients. A big thumbs down for me. read more

My husband went there to have a cracked tooth extracted as a walk-in. Once the numbness wore off and he removed the gauze, he discovered that she pulled the wrong tooth! (part of the cracked tooth came out with the gauze). He went back the following day and the dentist proceeded to deny that the tooth in question was cracked the day before. DO NOT GO THERE In addition, when we went back to pick up his records, patient information was left lying on the counter in clear violation of HIPPA laws. read more

My wife and I live out-of-country, and we do not have dental insurance. We called around to several different dentists, inquiring about prices for a cleaning. We were happy when we called Dental Dreams because they told us that we could get basic x-rays ('butterfly x-rays', they called them) and a cleaning for $105. So, we set appointments. When we arrived, we were greeted and then asked to fill out the typical forms. Some of them seemed to be strangely worded in regards to their privacy policy, so I had to read them several times and ask questions. Be careful with the forms if you choose to go here. While we were filling out the forms, another woman left screaming and cussing at the staff. I kind of dismissed it as an irrational outburst. I then paid for the service, but he charged us separately; I'm not sure why. The card was rejected the second time, indicating that it was a duplicate charge. So, I had to pay with another card. Kind of inconvenient... After that mess, we were called back within five minutes. It is a typical dentist office setup. It appeared clean and maintained. I sat in the chair, and the hygienist explained to me that he would take a full set of mouth x-rays and then the dentist would come in and do a physical check and make recommendations for further treatment. I asked him when the cleaning would be done, and he told me that there wasn't a cleaning included in the $105 cost. I was confused and told him that they told me that over the phone. He went to the desk to check, at which point the dentist came in. I explained it to her, and then the hygienist returned. He told me that the cleaning was not included in the cost. I told him that I was not happy about it, and the dentist also said that she was "a little p----- off too". It seems that I am not the first person this has happened to. I got up and told them that we did not want the service. I got my wife from a nearby room, and headed for the front desk for the refund. The manager stopped us and asked what was wrong, and I explained the situation to her. She apologized and told me that the $105 service with cleaning and basic x-rays was only for children. She said that they had promotions for adults in the past for the same service, and then she went to look for a poster about that promotion. I'm not sure why. She then said that she could not find it, and then disappeared back into her office, not reemerging the rest of the time we were there. It is strange that they offered the same service that they told me on the phone in the past, but now it was not possible. That, in and of itself, shows that they mistakenly or deliberately gave me the wrong information on the phone. However, they refused to take accountability for it. The same man that took our payment at the front desk handled the refund to my cards. I also asked him if I could have back the forms that we filled out or if I could watch him shred them because I did not want them to keep our information. He said, "No problem." After he finished the refunds and ran around a little, he gave us our receipts showing the refunds. I asked him about the forms, and he told me that he shredded them already. I asked him why because I told him that I wanted to see it, and he said, "Oh, sorry." I put my cards back in my wallet, and we walked out the door. All things considered, we will never go back there again. From the way that they spoke and conducted themselves, I got the idea that they try to up-sell people on additional services. I'm glad we were able to figure this out before they began the x-rays. I would have been beyond furious if they surprised us with this after the fact. I would not recommend this dentist office. Overall, there was a total lack of accountability, integrity, and care. There are far better places in Rockford. read more

Wow, this place sucks. Not only did the doctor Zach make an extremely odd comment about the strength of my girlfriend's lower lip, he also cut into her lower gum and left a sore. That sore got worse over 3 days, so we called to get it looked at and they told us they were too busy. Whomever answered the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful. read more

Don't go if you can avoid it, sadly folks on most programs don't have many choices. Occasionally they will have great dentists in their office but you just never know. I had a guy from Russia that I just loved but later the dentists in the same office were upset by his methods. They've jerked us around so many times I can't count. There use to also be crusader clinic in town, so when they had more competition they were a little better. I know Ace dental came to Rockford for braces but I don't know if they see regular dental patients. I suggest driving into the suburbs of Chicago but if you have to go don't let them push you around. I've been told to deal with shoddy work that is uncomfortable, uneven, incorrect colors, you name it! I've been told I'm being aggressive when the dentist was causing me pain. I was moving my arms so she'd stop inflicting pain on me and then she tells me to stop being aggressive? I'm in my head thinking "%#%%* I'll show you aggressive!" But of course I just explained to her she was causing me pain and I wanted it to stop. No apology. Nothing. I will say my youngest child was pretty ill as a youngster and we'd cancel all the time (we're about an hour from Dental Dreams) and they never told us to stop coming in or not to come back. But with that comes the very long wait time. I'm talking hours sometimes. Bring a book and a charged device if you have to go. I'd get cleanings done there but they can screw up a filling. The dentist we've dealt with here is very rude, harsh, and they (the staff) all wander from room to room or simply just walk away without telling you a thing about what they're doing. Luckily today's appt was relatively quick, but we've had times where we sat for 2+ hours for only a few minutes of actual work. A dear friend broke her denture in October and her grandson brought her to Dental (nightmares) Dreams to get a replacement made. $1100.00 and over 3 months later, she still does not have her new denture. The thing is, she is 82 years old and legally blind so she is afraid to make a fuss or go someplace else. They have a dozen reasons why they have not been able to provide the service she has already paid for- I would not let them work on my dog, let alone a human that I care about. Reading the other reviews, she is not the only one suffering from their lack of skill and support. The first denture came back and had to be completely redone. Isn't that why they take impressions? Six weeks later, she still has to wait two more weeks (again).... My impression- close the business. read more

I showed up at 2:40pm for a 3:00pm appointment. I sat in the waiting room until about 4:10pm, when I finally was taken back to a chair, where I then sat a while longer. The dentist then came in at about 4:45pm, after waiting for two hours and said it was too late to get started on any work today, when I scheduled for a broken filling. This isn't my first poor experience here either. A couple of years ago, they did a filling that was so rough and rigid, and it just so happens to be the one that fell out, hence my return. They are rude, unprofessional, and very slow. I know they take walk-ins, but I'm not sure how they fit those in throughout the scheduled appointments. Unfortunately, they're the only place in the area that takes public aid for dental. I will be paying out of pocket to get the work done elsewhere before returning to Dental Dreams. read more

Dear God, This entire Dental Clinic in Rockford Il. on State Street is beyond horrid. They don't care how much pain you are in. They are barbaric and forceful with their Novocain shots. He gave me 12 when putting in 5 nightmare looking crowns. they were uneven in length by 1/8th of an inch. they were yellow and crooked and jagged at the top. I was horrified and have cried for days. I won't go out or smile anylonger. He is so rushed he drilled my own teeth to the size of tooth picks that won't hold onto the crowns for very long in which I have to put crazy glue on them to hold them in. I was in so much pain with the shots that I screamed and cried during the procedure. He didn't care. My gums were swollen for days afterwards. I am in a nightmare of depression. He then tells me that if he ruins any teeth they do not fix them. They are a hack job. My first experience is when they partially filled some cavities in which they left the entire bottom of the teeth exposed and very sensitive. I went back and he said I was wrong. I am not wrong. They did not completely fill my cavities. When once having a tooth pulled, it took an hour to pull the tooth out. They pulled so hard I was in physical therapy for 16 weeks due severe neck pain. Also your wait is about 2 hours and they rush you through once they finally come in. There are no words to how horrible this place is. read more

Well it took the 3 Rd dentist to put me on antibiotics for an infection. Saw a dentist Saturday who said it was dry socket, but was an infection. Ask your female dentists to take the time to listen to their patients. We are all different in our own way. I am usually not a complainer but I do need to warn everyone I know. I went to Dental Dreams this morning for a routine cleaning. The customer service is never that great and they are always late but the are open on Saturdays so I decided to try them again. Let me just say I had the worst dental experience ever! The place opened at 9am and my appointment was at 9:30. I wasn't seen until 10:15am. They have two doctors for what seemed like 20 chairs. The Doc comes in says hi, and starts to clean my teeth, then only other words he said to me was, "no cavities, that good" and "goodbye". Less than 10 minutes total to clean my teeth, maybe even less time, When he polished, he didn't even hit every tooth. I am going to give their office a call on Monday. A few weeks ago I had a 4:30 appointment to check the wax impression.I got called to the chair at 5:45 and left the office at 7:15 pm. 10 impressions,...yep 10!, 1 reline, and 12 visits later and my dentures still don't even come close to fitting. The dentures have teeny-tiny teeth. My 8 year old grandson has larger teeth than these dentures. Came home and fixed a small pasta for dinner and could not keep my dentures in place. I was chewing with the front molars not the back ones because the dentures were no in alignment, had no upper/lower contact in back, and when I tried to to bite a wafer cookie with my front teeth they rocked forward causing terrible pain. Oh yes, they knew my concerns two weeks earlier when I complained about all the above. They told me they could make the teeth bigger, that the reline would take care of the fit, that they would be tighter, And the last thing they said was try them for awhile until you get used to them. None of that happened. Guess what? This is not my first set of dentures, but they are definitely the worst set! DONT GO HERE! My husband was here to have a wisdom tooth removed. They gave him x-rays and pulled the tooth in one sitting. The next time, both my husband and I went and we needed a cleaning. They scheduled us to come in but when we got to the dentist, she said she could only do the x-rays this visit and to schedule another appointment. Upset, but needing our teeth cleaned, we scheduled another appointment. When we came in for the cleaning, we were told we both had cavities to be filled (him 1, me 5). Ok, so we schedule another appointment. When we come in for the fillings, they claimed they "have" to do more x-rays. My husband had 3 filled and mentioned it to the hygienist who asked the dentist to explain the change. We were told my husband had 3 and I had 9! The dentist ended up numbing my entire left side and worked on the bottom and the top. I decided I would not go back to fill the barely visible 5 she claimed I had on the right side. I was here in December and my fillings are now fully visible (even though they were clear at first) and those teeth hurt!! For the last week those teeth have been causing me so much pain. Just a few days ago, I chipped one while eating. Today, I was able to spit my food out when I felt the crack and definitely have a cracked piece of my tooth in hand! My 5 year old daughter swallowed a dental bur while getting a filling here. The dentist didn't say anything when it happened, but I got a call a half hour later that I should take her for an x-ray because she was missing a bur. My current dentist said there was no way the dentist didn't know when it happened and should have informed me immediately. Luckily the bur ended up passing without incident, but it could have been much worse. Unprofessional bordering on malpractice. Beware. read more

Had a root canal done there that gave me problems from day 1. I went to another dentist, and it turns out that they left part of the file they used to do the root canal in my gums!!! Now I have to have oral surgery that will cost me a little short of $3000. Not happy to say the least. read more

Front Desk staff were extremely rude and unorganized. Four hours later they were closing and when I asked why I had not been seen they became even more rude, when I insisted on being seen. Dr Nayer had an ex-ray taken, poked my tooth with an isntrument that caused extreme pain, then told me 'I dont know why you came, there is nothing wrong with your tooth. I went to another dentist the following day, my tooth was cracked in half and severly infected.This place should be outof business! read more
