DO NOT come here unless you want to spend your entire day waiting, even if you have an appointment. On 9/2, I arrived for a 1:00 PM appointment. I proceeded to wait for over an hour and was never seen. I ultimately had to reschedule because I had class later that day and needed to drive to Detroit. I rescheduled for 9/9 at 9:00 AM, thinking that being the first appointment of the day would mean I could get in and out quickly. NOPE. At 9:00 AM, the doors were still locked and no one was there. The receptionist didn't arrive until around 9:05 AM, and the rest of the staff, including the dentists, didn't arrive until approximately 9:10-9:15 AM. While I was sitting in the waiting room, the receptionist didn't check me in or even acknowledge me. By 9:30 AM, I asked them to cancel my appointment and left without ever being seen. I understand that delays happen, but waiting over an hour for an appointment on one occasion and then showing up for a 9:00 AM appointment only to find the office wasn't even open is unacceptable. My family moved here recently and decided to go to this Dental Clinic, I have never felt so unwelcome at a business. The atmosphere is very dry and the workers don't seem to be cheery of their job in any way. Most places you walk into you're greeted almost instantly. Don't expect that from here. No one has said a word in any of my visits. ALSO expect waiting for 30 minutes up to two hours. The first time we came we had to do paperwork so I get it, it took maybe 10 minutes for me and my family to fill it out but for them to make sure that the information was all present and given took quite literally over an hour and a half including jus waiting to be called. We ended up having to reschedule bc I had work later that day and even after a little more than two hours of waiting we weren't called in. They need to better space out their time slots if there's a shortage of dentists bc the wait is insane. AND if paperwork needs to be done don't make the appt time for 9:30 and take patients at 11:00 give a heads up in an e-mail call or text ANYTHING, or ask us to come early SPECIFICALLY for paperwork so we finish it before our SCHEDULED appt time. Very Very disappointed and displeased with the wait time for a dentist cleaning like this. I will say however the ACTUAL dentist and his assistant were kind and apologized for the wait time, but they need to work on staff attitude at the front desk, and either hire more dentists or span out times of appts better. read more

Dental Nightmare would be an appropriate name. Be forewarned, DO NOT COME HERE! Mainly because the place is dirty. First step to Health is to maintain a sanitary environment. After my x-rays, I did not want any other services from this location. However, they submitted a request for further work with my insurance. When I asked them to release the request, they did everything but. It prevented me from getting the services I needed elsewhere. I contacted my insurance provider several times, and they had to intercede and call their office. My premonitions were right, they were never going to honor my request. Furthermore, they were rude and did not know how to operate the platform. Ignorance is not an excuse to keep a client's health at bay. Picking up the phone and calling the insurance company, Like I did, would have been an easy first step on their part. The front house reception: I spoke to Kinnea, Shelby, and a third girl who were all incompetent. A bad Yelper, I should have read all the horrible reviews but I thought a routine visit wouldn't matter. Wrong! I have yet to have a issue with the staff, it's a doctor's office not a bus ride, or something that happens you don't like. I had 12 bi weekly visits for my issues and it was cool. Ok! So, new dentist, Dr. Halliwill, has made me actually like this dentist again. Also, the newer desk people are super, super pleasant (Maria, and I didn't catch the other person's name). They can always get you in pretty quickly, they have addressed any and all of my concerns well, and they make sure you're as numb as you want to be for any fillings. Basically I didn't feel a thing aside from the initial pinch of the numbing stuff. Had a little bit of a wait today, but mostly my recent appointments have been right on time. Dr Halliwill is fast and thorough, and whoever did my teeth cleaning recently was also great. The staff here a few years ago was not good at all but it seems like they've made moves to correct that and everyone who's there now is perf. Looking forward to my next cleaning. read more

As a potential customer-1st time; I took my mother to have her dentures check for the appropriate size and cracks. Without being able to verify insurance we were quickly charged approx. $120 for x-ray and exam. After conducting the exam, the dentist that she would need to gum work and no need for any x-rays at this time; It was discussed the x-ray fee charged would be refunded. We waited around- approx. 20 min and was informed by the front desk staff; Regional Mgr. Noreen was in a meeting/interview and would be out to see us ten minutes to take care of the refund. Needless to say, she finally met with us after approx. 20 mins and informed us we were not entitled to a refund; the exam alone was more than the x-ray and exam combined. She also stated that she informed staff- there would be no refund; they just forgot to tell us. We left feeling ripped off- and decided to cut our losses and look elsewhere for a new dentist. She keeps u on hold forever and then hang up the call. When you call back she will be like oh sorry about that how can I help you she never helps you from the first time. I called couple times to ask about couple important stuff and she always say oh OK I will let the manager calls you back and she never calls back or let them know. I transferred to another clinic and they asked me for my x-rays picture so they won't charge me again and I called the clinic couple times to send it to them and every time this lady says OK I will send it to them right now and she never did it. When I ask about scheduling appointments she always says yes we have available time let's say 1 o'clock and you go there and stay for an hour or two waiting for your appointment. Every time when you go there do you think they do all that because maybe they're busy or some thing or specially this lady but every time you go there or you just see her sitting down and doing nothing and literally not busy at all she just does that on purpose.Also every time you go you will find new doctor you will never find your doctor twice and they're always doctors that you can feel that they don't know much about what they're doing or new graduate students. The last time I went there I had a core up for a crown it's not my first time doing that thing I did it in a different place before but the time that I had it in this place I was in abnormal pain for couple days and the day that I had it the doctor just let me go home before she finished her work and she was like it's 5 PM so I cannot continue the work now and had become the second day to continue the work and I'm not supposed to have a bleeding in that time and I just had pain and bleeding until she put the temporary crown. My permanent crown took almost a month for the clinic to have it. I have a refund check that I'm supposed to get from more than a month and a half and i didn't receive it yet. every time I called to ask about it they will be like I'm not sure I will check it for you and let you know what will happen and they will let you feel that you're asking about their money not yours they're not even responsible and I'm still just waiting for it. I didn't get called to the back until a little after 5pm.Then didn't get done until almost 7pm. Then, my next and last appointment was at 5:30pm and asked the receptionist at 5:50 how much longer.... She tells me the assistant said another 20 minutes..... this time I'm here for a fill in....... I didn't get to the back until 6:30is, and want done until almost 8pm....... So a little over a year ago I had my first dentist appointment there the dentist was a very good-looking guy he seemed to be nice. Anyway all the teeth that I was having issues with he did not work on and he proceeded to drill a hole into of my teeth that I had no idea were cavities I wasn't even worried about it however about six months ago my filling came out my mouth has gotten infected 4 times I have two wisdom teeth that are bothering me my mouth just hurts I really wish he wouldn't have started drilling this tooth. If I could give no stars, I would. I have never had such a horrible dental experience. First off, I didn't know until after the 24 hour cancel period that I couldn't get xrays. When I arrived, I filled out my paperwork and they got me back quickly. I then told the nurse that I was far enough along in my pregnancy that my OB dr did not want me getting Xrays. The nurses then started harassing me about not bringing in a med release, which no one had told me I needed. I had to wait while my OB dr faxed it over. Then the worst part happened. The Dr came in. Started yelling about not being able to do anything for me because he couldn't do xrays And how this location was for "dental emergencis only". I explained the situation and he was completely uncaring. I told him I needed a cleaning along with some help with a cavity. My "cleaning" consisted of the Dr being very rough with the plaque cleaning tool and then polishing my teeth. I've never felt so much pain during a cleaning, it brought me to tears. My "partial exam" consisted of him looking in my mouth for less than 10 seconds with a flashlight. I have never been to such an uncaring dentist in my life. I plan on calling the ADA and my insurance company. I would NOT recommend going here. read more

I will not go to Dental Dreams (Ypsilanti, MI) again. The dentist was cordial and professional, the work was adequate to good. But, the front office people were frustrated,overworked, & not friendly. The office manager seemed condescending, patronizing, and not professional. I waited 1 hr and 10 minutes, then left. Next appt. I waited only 45 minutes, got numbed up for the treatment and then waited more than 30 more minutes, without anyone telling me what was going on. The thing to know is that Dental Dreams' business plan requires that every patient is double booked. That means if you have a 10am appt, so does someone else, for the same dentist as you. So if you are not there First, you will wait the entire length of the other person's appt. for your shot at the 10am appt. The later in the day it gets, the more backed up the customers get. This leads to long waits & angry customers. As this is upsetting and demoralizing for the staff too, they disengage or tune out in order to protect their own feelings. (They have to go back for work there the next day!) As far as I can see, there is nothing to be done, as corporate in Chicago obviously knows the consequences of their business plan. The justification for the way people are treated is that Dental Dreams accepts Medicaid, and people with Medicaid have an apparent reputation for not showing up. So, if there are going to be broken promises, Dental Dreams has chosen to be a giver of broken promises instead of possibly being a receiver. Terrible business plan! read more

She very much liked Dr Alamdi, service was courteous, and we weren't in there more than an hour total, which certainly beats many other dental offices. I'm hoping that our later appointment for fillings in a few days goes as well, but even if it takes longer it still beats the three hour appointment windows at U of M dental school adult clinic. read more

So, I has an appointment scheduled for a week ago and when I made the appointment I made sure to ask to get a reminder call since it was 6 months in advance. Never got the reminder call and got a rude message letting me know that I missed my appointment. I called to R/S and asked about reminder calls and they said they do them "most of the time". Wonderful. R/S my appointment for two days later and arrive 5 mins early. I get there an no one acknowledge me. Signed in and took a seat. Totally incompetent staff. Had an appointment months ago for a cleaning. Arrived 10 minutes ahead of time, waited 45 minutes just to go back. After being seated in the chair I waited another 20 minutes for the doctor. Dr. Laura walks in to introduce herself then walks out for 15 minutes. Upon her arrival she says, "Oh, your here for a cleaning?". I said yes. She left again and returned to inform me she couldn't do my cleaning because I didn't have an approval from my insurance. So basically she wasted 2 hours of my time and when I objected with concern she tried to flip if around an make it look like I scheduled incorrectly. Thta's impossible since I had to schedule with a staff member up front on the computer, so nice try Dr. Laura. I decided to make another appointment and specifically asked NOT to have Dr. Laura. So I go to my appointment today and waited 30 minutes to go back. Guess who walked in? Yep, Dr. Laura. I said very clearly and specifically I did NOT want Dr. Laura to the idiot up front. Obviously they aren't educated enough to type exactly what a patient says. So I take my concern to the manager, Kim to express how pissed off I am. I was very upset and didn't intent to use colorful language but an "F" bomb slipped out. Immediately she got upset and said, "I don't appreciate that language". Maybe Ms. Kim if you did your job and had properly trained staff you wouldn't hear it from anybody. I know I'm not the first nor will I be the last to swear at these uneducated fools. This is how your treated when you have medicaid or some other assistance. Sad, Sad, Sad. This place should be closed. This is a medicaid office so your wait is guaranteed to be at LEAST 1 hour. If you still decide to go do NOT complain about wait time, I JUST told you! If you have EMPLOYER insurance I suggest you visit Arbor Dental on Packard and Platt in Ann Arbor, very professional with no more than a 5 minute wait if that. If you do have medicaid unfortunately your options are limited which is why this office succeeds, they know you cant afford actual dental care. I would suggest Destiny Dental on Washtenaw Rd. (medicaid office). This office is very unprofessional, they never have all the supplies they need to perform actual work and 8/10 your insurance will be billed incorrectly. The Manager (#7 or 8) is a complete whack job so don't go looking for help from her, she wouldn't know the answer if it was glued to her face. Doctors are nice but extremely underpaid and overwork which causes them to not care so much about the patients. This is your warning.. read more

Worst experience ever. I called to make an appointment for dental bridge check, and routine cleaning. The receptionist said I have to make two separate appointment. So I did make 2 separate appointment on two different days.I showed up at my 11:30am appointment, one hour and 15 minutes later they took me in, waited another 25 mins for the dentist. Then he said I have to come back next time for more work up, which was fine. At this time it was already 1:10pm. I walked out to confirm my next appointment, then the front desk said they don't even have me scheduled for the next appointment. Then she said the receptionist was new, so she had made a mistake. And their manager came out, apologized and said they can do the cleaning today. I thought that was fine,so I went back to get my X-rays. Little that I know, the Dentist came by and asked why did I come back, I explained the situation. He said you need to talk to Johnny, what u r doing is wrong. So I went to talk to the manager, he said the Dentist was not mad at me but at him. Long story short, by 2:30pm, they still did not clean my teeth. I was so exhausted and hungry after 3 and 1/2 hours of waiting, I left the place. It will be my last time there. If there were an option to rate with negative stars I would. I have never written a bad review on any business before but what has happened to me is injustice. I had a scheduled root canal and was given 3 different options. Pay $1200, get my tooth pulled for free (covered by insurance), or try going to the dental school which may be cheaper. Through discussion on price the women negotiated a different price totaling $818. I paid $606 and scheduled another appointment for getting my crown. I went in and was only supposed to be charged the remaining balance $212. The women at the front desk told me if I want to finish my root canal I would need to pay another $800. I then was taken back to talk with another manager named Oscar. He was of no assistance. He said it would be illegal to offer a different price but then told me if I could prove that this women gave me a different price then he would honor the price. I left the office with a unfinished root canal and with more problems. They're unprofessional in every way possible and are SCAMMING. Every single time I've been there, I have experienced the dental assistants talking bad about other employees specifically Oscar. There is no moral compass whatsoever. Anyone is who forced to go there because they do not have health insurance or has little coverage still should be treated with respect and not scammed.
