My older son picked me up around 11:30 AM and drove me home, as I wasn't allowed to drive afterward. I rested for the remainder of the day. What really stood out to me was the level of care that Dr. Bak personally called me later that afternoon to check on how I was doing and answered all my questions. He was incredibly patient and supportive. Anna was also amazing and went above and beyond in communicating with me throughout the entire process. I wasn't expecting much, but Doctor Li discovered three cavities, two of which required quite extensive dental work. His experience and expertise in this field truly showed as he guided me through the procedures with excellent bedside manner to ease any of my concerns, questions, and worries. A couple days later, I came in to get my first ever filling done. My dental history involves a healthy amount of trauma ranging from extreme pain DURING wisdom teeth extraction as well as other instances of numbing agents not really doing their jobs. However, not only did I feel little to no pain during the filling, I left with a lot of my trauma alleviated. Doctor Li and his dental assistants did a great job calming me down and helping me stay relaxed and at ease throughout all of the dental work. From the beginning, there were problems. The staff struggled to place the IV before the procedure, and afterward I experienced severe, ongoing pain that made it impossible to sleep. I repeatedly called the office because I felt something was wrong, but I was told that the pain was normal and that I should continue flushing the area. After several weeks, I insisted on being seen. I wasn't evaluated by my doctor and was instead seen briefly by an assistant, who discovered that the area was infected and needed to be drained again. The pain eventually subsided, but the entire experience was excruciating. What concerned me most was that my repeated reports of severe pain were dismissed, and the office never followed up with me afterward. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice.

When I reached out because I was in pain, Dr. Kashani personally told me that he was "not at my disposal" and that if I was in pain I should call 911. Being told to call 911 for dental pain instead of receiving guidance or support from the treating dentist felt dismissive and inappropriate. I understand that doctors have boundaries and are not available 24/7. However, there is a professional way to communicate that. The way it was handled made me feel like I was wrong simply for reaching out while experiencing pain. Additionally, Angie from the office told me they did not think I would be a "good fit" for the practice because I asked too many questions. That is honestly concerning. Patients have every right to ask questions about their treatment, risks, alternatives, and costs. Informed consent requires transparency -- it should not disqualify someone from care. Being told I might not be seen because I ask questions, combined with being told to call 911 when I was in pain, does not reflect patient-centered care. Patients should never feel discouraged from advocating for themselves or seeking clarification about their own health.

Lorena soon took me back to a room where she took a couple of X-rays and pictures of the areas in question. She was kind, gentle and proficient with all of her tasks making the experience as pleasant as possible. When Dr Penhaskashi came in I was highly satisfied with his professional and superbly competent demeanor. It was immediately clear he's a man of great integrity.
