I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office. I should have listened to my intuition when I scheduled my first visit with them for a check-up and cleaning. I will was told I needed to pay out of pocket $85 because they need to take pictures of my teeth and extended x-ray (18 of them) . I told them my insurance should cover for x-rays and why are pictures needed if we're going to do x-ray? . I never had any dentist that takes pictures of your teeth when they're also doing X-rays on your teeth. That should have been a red flag for their greediness. I was told Dr. Swathi would NOT perform the exam unless I payed for the extra cost. So I did! Dr Swathi Upadhyaya never took the time to explain any procedure_ she performed a bone density test without my consent or any explanation. In the middle of her painfully digging and extremely rough and careless when picking around my teeth I finally stopped her and asked what are you doing? she said I'm almost done. Can't imagine what a real cleaning would be like. She never showed me the x-rays or pictures they took. Instead I was rushed out and referred to a specialist for bone loss that I may need or may not. Her demeanor was cold and unwelcoming , and unfortunately, her staff had the same unprofessional attitude. I left feeling confused, disrespected, and taken advantage of. I would NOT recommend this office to anyone looking for respectful, transparent dental care. They called me and ask me when I want to schedule the apt for deep cleaning. I told them I just want a regular cleaning. Finally, after back and forth, they scheduled me for a regular cleaning for about two months in the future because they said there is no opening. Hmmm......just earlier - they said they can see me for a deep cleaning next week if I want. Went for my cleaning and then the dentist told me to schedule my apt for the next cleaning and I did that. On the day of my apt, the front desk called to cancel my apt 2 hours before my actual appointment. She said the dentist does not want to do a regular cleaning for me but if I want to do a deep cleaning then the dentist will do it. I'm like what? The dentist was the one who told me to make an appointment for regular cleaning back then and I get all this reminders about my appointment coming up and two hours before the appointment, they said the dentist wants to cancel it. I know they charge way more (thousand of dollars) for deep cleaning than a regular cleaning but still -that is so unprofessional and greedy for what they did. read more

The dentist here is a scammer, literally. Outrageously over-diagnosed (confirmed with a second opinion). Came in for a 'cleaning' only because they take liberty. Greeted by the front desk staff which were are very friendly and accommodating. As a new patient they had me do full x-rays in their outdated tech. The dentist came in after the xrays and checked out my teeth a bit which she was extremely rough and careless when picking around my teeth. Can't imagine what a real cleaning would be like. After getting the x-ray slides back she reviews them and acts surprised asking me things like "oh have you been consuming lots of sodas? or candies?". This was of course followed by her suggesting I have upwards of 12-15 cavities, and would recommend getting them filled along with a full deep cleaning. After the shady bedside manner to begin with it's obvious what was going on and I wouldn't be returning. I'm no dentist, but when you're 30 years old and have only had 2 cavities in your life, it's quite the red flag. Though I thought I would reserve judgement till I went to another dentist. The staff printed me out a nice bill of $1500+/- for their recommended services and asked me when I'd like to schedule an appt, funny stuff. Well I went to another dentist that accepts liberty and had a solid experience, where they have a nice office, new tech, and dentists with respectable bedside manner. I was diagnosed with zero cavities. Feel free to reach out if you need the rec. It's sad that places like this still exist, but fortunately there's places like Yelp to tell about it so others don't fall victim. read more

Thank you soo much Dr Swathi and Team! Let me start off by saying i am a really anxious person when it comes to the dentist. I came here after my previous dentist retired from the office i used to go to. I was recommended Dr Uphadhyaya by a close friend and i can see why she is soo happy with the office. They're front office team is awesome. They answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable. On my initial visit i was greeted by my amazing assistant amanda. Her smile comforted my anxiety. She proceeded to explain everything we were about to do and gave me my necessary breaks ( im a gagger) after my xrays and colored photos i was introduced to Dr Swathi as she prefers to be called and she did a very comprehensive evaluation... i even had my blood pressure checked! Its the first office that ever does that for me! After my examination both the doctor and assistant went through the xrays and color photos with me -that was my favorite part. ... they showed me where my cavities were and i was able to see them personally with there machine" intra oral camera" that was Awesome! I loved the fact that i saw the cavities versus them just telling me that i have them. As we finished my check up i was then dismissed and i met Erika she handled all my financial questions... she gave me detailed information about my insurance coverage and what my out of pocket payment would be. ( she is amazing! This girl knows her stuff) i made my appointment and came back to see the doctor 3 days later. Today i just got home from my second appointment. I had my dental cleaning done and it was painless. My cavities were filled today and i got numbed and Doctor Upadhyaya made it painless as well. After the initial consultation they scheduled an appointment for deep cleaning. Our insurance covers 100% of almost everything. But when I reached there I was asked if I want to pay now or later. I said I have insurance that covers everything. They said that I need Arestin and that is not covered. I opted out of it and just wanted to do the deep cleaning. But when I went in the dentist again encouraged me to have the treatment, and I got sucked in. To make a long story short I came out paying $250 out of pocket, plus a $25 medicated mouth wash. (Which BTW tastes disgusting). Then they wanted to schedule me two days later for root canal. I'm like seriously, I can barely speak right now due to several shots in my mouth and I'm not coming back in two days. The straw that broke the camel's back is that I visited them twice and they never bothered to give a toothbrush/toothpaste when you leave. What kind of a dentist never gives out the parting goody bag lol. That's when I lost all faith in them. Moral of the story, don't skimp on the toothbrush, whether the patients use them or not is a different story. It's the thought that counts lol. read more

After landing my first real job with benefits; i choose this place out of a list that was available to me and near by. At the time I didnt take into consideration that it would be wise to choose one carefully. Now looking back I think this place was such a bad choice! From the day I came in for my initial appt she had ordered continuous work on my teeth. I paid thousands of dollars out of pocket. I should have asked for a second opinion somewhere else (dont make this mistake!) Not only that her work is hideous! The one star is for the receptionist; she is a doll 0 starts for the Dr Dr.Swahi. my LIST of reasons I come on time for every appointment and she has the nerve to keep me waiting. not because shes with other patients (that would be understandable) a few times she was on the phone with her mom; one time she was in her car arguing with some man. i know this because i saw her as i walked in from my appointment; she had me waiting 45 mins past my appointment when she did my fillings she did not give me enough Novocaine. i told her it hurt she just waiting a few secs and continued. it was very frustrating to the point that i demanded she give me more for the pain or just stop. she did work on my right later incisor; she made it look like a hook tooth and also bonded it to the buck tooth; making it impossible to floss! My last straw: After already paying thousands of dollars out of pocket already she all of a sudden on my last visti insisted on putting a crown over a molar she did not want the old filling. I told her no; she knew i was still a college student; i couldn't afford it. she she proceeded filling it but not without A BAD ATTITUDE. she started throwing her instruments on my chest with FORCE as she was using them and throwing it down. Please do yourself a favor and DO Not go to this place. They will try to take your money by getting you to do a whole bunch of work that isn't exactly necessary. The dentist that I worked with was very dishonest. I paid over $300 out of pocket for just one side of my mouth for a few cavities with insurance. The reason being was because I have HMO; and, I found out that with HMO, I could charge their own price. So, they charged me the highest rate possible. Please get a second opinion if the charges seem absurd. The front desk girl, Erica, will Work with the dentist and try to charge you as well, and set up appointments in a way that will make you feel suspicious. For example, I couldn't barely open my mouth after they filled the cavities on the right side of my mouth, and she wanted me to come back on the same day to get the other side done. I would've over $600 out of pocket for them with insurance. I just got back from another dentist today and was told that the amount of work that they told me to do were not needed. And, with this new dentist, paying out of pocket without insurance, because they don't take hmo, isn't even that expensive. I was appalled by how unethical the people were at Detail Solutions. I would not recommend them. Please stay away from a dishonest business like that. There's a reason why that place is so dead there. It's also super shady, too, that when I asked for them to emailed my new dentist my X-rays, they wanted to charge me for me. I was going to pay for them; but, my bf said that by law, they can't. When he brought that up to their attention, they agreed to send them but made the process very difficult. And, I ended up with black and white printed copies of that, which made it hard for the new dentist to see exactly what's going on. I kinda knew that something wasn't right about them from the start. Sadly, it took one paid appointment to realize that, but still, I feel happy that I didn't pay them over $3k for the work that they told me I needed. Very, very dishonest dentist. The cleaning that the assistant wasn't worth it either. Didn't feel clean at all... It's a long rant; but, it's needed if this review could prevent at least one person from getting scammed by them. This was the best dentist appointment I have have ever had in my whole life! Dr. Swathi was quick, caring, and gentle! She numbs you very well too! I came in to get my left wisdom tooth pulled, a filling, and deep cleaning. I was done and out in 30 min!!! I really had bad experience with this place. I did not had any problem with my tooth, when I went for regular clean up, they said all of my tooth has cavity and I need to do filling. Once I did filling, I stated having pain in my tooth. They messed up all my tooth. Now while chewing I don't feel the same as it was before. I paid almost 500 out of my pocket. Not trustworthy. Over diagnosed. Went in because was having tooth pain. Building is old, their tech is old (x-ray machine is on pully that they push up against your chin, not a stand-up, and machine rotates around your head) They told me I have 7 cavites, needed a root canal, and all 4 of my wisdom teeth were impacting other teeth and needed to be removed. Didn't trust what they said. Went to get a 2nd opinon at a different dentist. My 2nd dentist had much nicer office, and latest tech. They told me wisdom teeth should probably be removed down the line, but weren't impacting anything currently. I needed 1 root canal, and only had 2 other cavities. If you end up going to this place, please go get a 2nd opinon before trusting them. Oh and if you want to have the x-rays they took here sent to another dentist office, their "office policy" is to charge you $30 What a joke. $30 to send an e-mail that will take them 30 seconds max? When I made the appointment, I didn't ask price. When I arrived, the receptionist and another staff took turn to chat with me, very friendly. But as we discuss Obama care dental care, I was led to believe that the insurance I had was only a discount program, dentists received almost nothing, but patients receive discounts for services. This surprised me. Then in a small "consultation room", I was told that for a regular clean up, I would pay $80, plus $10 office copay, but if Dr. Swathi found I need other services, I would have to pay more. Well, compare to the dentist I have had, this is not a discount, but more expensive. But I was sort of ready to pay it, thinking I would go back to my previous dentist after this time. However after the check up, I was suggested to do a deep cleaning, a few antibiotic treatment of "gum disease" etc, even I had a deep cleaning two years ago and thought I maintained pretty well. But Dr. Swathi pull up photos, pointed here and there, said I had 8 or 9 small cavities, which 5 or 6 of them should be filled. I became suspicious, told them I knew those were filled before, but she insisted that small holes had developed right next to those fillings. Really? She didn't mention gum disease, but explain the benefits of receiving antibiotic treatment after a deep cleaning. I would like to seek second opinion, just in case. Now at least I know my insurance is not a "discount program" for sure! read more

Came in with a bunch of teeth problem and they were ready to give me immediate relief. All my options were presented to me for every one of my problem teeth with consultation and costs. Both doctors, Dr. Swathi and Dr. Rujvi, are great. I highly recommend. If you are covered under Medicare, don't even try this dentist. In my opinion they don't want medicare clients. They said that they don't earn any money by treating medicare clients unless they carry extra insurance. My son had an abscess on his gum, so Since my sister is a dental assistant at this office, I tried calling her. I was freaked out and my sister was busy with a patient so I asked to speak to Rosa. Rosa was so kind and caring. Rosa told me I need to bring my son in immediately so he could be seen and treated by the dentist. I told the person who answered the phone it was an emergency, and she told me my sister was busy. Good thing I asked for Rosa, because my son would have been suffering a lot more. I've been going to this office since before Dr. Swahi. I thoroughly enjoy seeing everyone in this office. Dr. Swathi is very friendly and compassionate. I have had no problems with any of her work. Rose is very friendly and polite. She is a delight to talk with. The dental technician (sorry I forget her name) is very good at her work and is friendly to talk to. Even if it wasn't my dental office I would still want to see them all as my friends. I don't enjoy dental work (who does?) but I do look forward to coming back every 6 mo. and seeing Dr. Swahi, Rose and the dental tech. read more
