Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. My sister was originally told that her braces would come off in June, but that timeline was never met. Fast forward two months, and when she came in for her appointment, Dr. Andrew wasn't even there. We were told he had left for vacation, despite the fact that he knew my sister was moving six hours away. She ended up booking a flight to come back for the braces removal a full month later--only for her to be told that they couldn't remove the braces because they needed to take more photos. And, of course, they told her to come back again the following week, as if she didn't have to leave school and fly in just to get this done. Even if she wasn't flying back and forth, no normal person wants to spend their valuable time driving to the dentist every week for nothing. The entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. The staff is unprofessional, and it seems like they can just up and leave whenever they feel like it. Thank you for leaving your patients high and dry after taking their money--this place is a joke. We are done with this place once all of this is over. read more

Got a text message the morning of my appointment "reminding" me of which location I was scheduled at, which was really great because I had not a single indication the office I wanted five minutes from my house was closed on the day and time I chose when scheduling. It took 45 minutes after my appointment time to be seen despite arriving on time, which feels a bit like eternity with a toddler. The dentist was kind and helpful, I think, for a good conversation and a few suggestions on how to accomplish brushing the teeth of the aforementioned toddler. He took an educated glance at my son's front teeth, confirmed bottle rot spots (I'm still trying to see them with the naked eye, but you know toddlers bite). He's primarily eating solids since 6 months but sure, it's possible. So overall, I learned a lot that doesn't match any of the information available to parents online or in parenting books and went home with a tube of baby toothpaste and brush that my son likes. As far as dentist experiences go, it's right on par for what you expect. Not a nightmare, but it's no magical walk down a fairy dust path like either. read more

Today I took my 7 year old son for an appointment he had they were going to do a filling. This is the place he has always been treated since he was 1 year old. He usually gets treated by a different dentist but she wasn't available today. He was treated by Dr. Jessica yang she was very unprofessional she had no patience and rude with attitude. My son has asthma and they are aware of it. My son was telling her he couldn't breathe she ignored him the first and after she went and shut his mouth close 3 times and said you have big pores you can breathe through your nose. She was very rude and made him cry when she force his mouth close. She was like I had enough I cannot do this anymore walked away and I was told by staff that she had a rough day. Bad service ever. The staff do not provide professional services and will not address the real issue. Remember to be consistent to ask for a base to provide a shield or a protection of your kids if any staff or any dentist asks your kids to lie down on their thighs to do examination. I had to ask the shield multiple times to ask for protection in which they refused to provide for that for my kid to lie down when I addressed the issue. Chose to leave this place. I have gone here twice with my children. I was so nervous bringing my son in and staff made us both so at ease! The front desk staff was amazing, the dental assistant that took my sons X-rays and got his teeth cleaning done was great with him! He was so comfortable that returning for our second cleaning was a breeze! I misplaced my referral and they were so kind about providing it to me again. We were referred to specialists and I was never once looked at in a judgmental way for the tooth rotting my son had from bottle use at 4 years old. The facility they referred us to in Milpitas with our medical covers his procedure and anesthesia 100%! Baby girl goes in this week and I'm excited to see how she learns to have fun at the dentist! Also fun little add on is that they give you a coin before leaving for their little gum-ball machine that is filled with little toys! read more

I'm never taking my son here again! Took him in for a cleaning and the assistant that was assigned to him was cold and quiet. With kids, you need to be upbeat and most importantly COMMUNICATE so they understand what it is you're doing. As a dental assistant myself, I know how important communication is with patients, especially young ones. Anyway, this lady rushed through the prophy and it was done so sloppily. My son was calm and cooperative so there was excuse for that. Then just as she finished, she quickly handed my son a cup and all she said was "rinse don't swallow" and doesn't even say what was in it. Before I can ask, my son drinks it up and swallows it. Turns out it was fluoride. After the appointment, my son projectile vomits all over himself and my car. Time to find another office! read more

My experience was so bad I left crying, confused and left with many questions. I got there with 12 mins to spare for my kids appointment. I figured that would give me enough time to fill out the paperwork before my appt. Well they call you in immediately after checking in so no time to fill out the paperwork correctly. My child has autism and so I knew I would need to assist in some way but unable to cause you're busy filing out the paperwork and making sure you don't miss anything they say. My other child thankful was cooperative. But my autistic child didn't get much done so I got left with so many answers for my child. My other child has two cavities but the lady not only is giving you a judging stare. Starts talking to you all this dentist terminology that one doesn't know. And when asked to explain in detail, met with annoyed eyes. Hopefully I find elsewhere with a better experience cause here was the worst as a first time parents taking kids to their first dentist appt. Not to mention the scheduling itself was a whole mess. Just started coming to this office this year we have Medical and they cover everything which is awesome. The offices are very clean. The staff is really nice and amazing. I think they deserve a raise. I get really good customer service from the time I get there until the time I leave I always get greeted and I wait 5 to 10 minutes for my dental assistant to call my son's name the dental assistant is always very nice to my son really patient they try to best accommodate my son to make him happy and feel comfortable which that's 100% very very important as well when the doctor comes in I try to make my son feel so comfortable and they do have a lot of patience I give this office a really good review just because there awesome like that. read more

Terrible, terrible dental office!! They have this stupid rule that patients over 5 years of age cannot be accompanied by an adult in the back office, unless the child is scared or crying. My son, 7 years old, had an appointment which his dad took him to. He was terrified and the lady who accompanied him to the back REFUSED to let his dad go in with him. Stating "we will let you in if he's scared" literally forcing my son to go in the back and my son was obviously hesitant to go. His dad asked if he could follow and she replied "no only if he starts screaming or scared we will come out to get you. Because if I let you in I have to let the other parents in" my child was obviously scared and in tears! What kind of pediatric dental office does this?! They treat these poor children like adults! Children leave this place traumatized! I wish I could give 0 stars, they don't even deserve one. I hope this office and their 2 other locations close down. Wow. I hate this place. I booked my two year old for an appointment because she has cavities. They then charged me $75 to see an "anesthesiologist". They didn't even tell me that was the charge when coming to see them. Okay fine, I then go to the back and was seen by a regular dentist. Okay again fine! After discussing the whole situation. I walk back to the front where I am told, that my insurance does not cover for the service. And that I would have to pay out of pocket for $350. I then scheduled for western dental in Sunnyvale. Where they referred me to another dental free of charge!!! If you are being charged here. I implore you to go to another dental. As a parent you should not go through this. In my previous review. The office, service and people here are great with children! However even though they do accept Medi-Cal, the current anesthesiologist they work with does not accept Medi-Cal. We were quoted about $1000 for my sons dental work because of the anesthesiologist not accepting Medi-Cal at all. I found another local pediatric office which quoted us $500 because their anesthesiologist does accept Medi-Cal. I do wish Tooth Fairy Cottage would use an anesthesiologist who accepts Medi-Cal. Update: If you have full scope Medi-Cal and your quote here is too high I recommend getting a quote from San Jose Dental Surgery Center, this worked out great for our family. read more

This review was way over due. We had a lot of negative experience with this dental clinic. We had a horrible experience leaving a bad trauma to my kids and myself. Dr. Andrew Nguyen have no emphaty with his patients. One of their dentist perform a filling and an X-ray to both my children without my consent. My children are all younger than 8 years old. All 3 locations barely have chairs in the waiting area. One of the receptionist was wearing a flip flops and seems that he just get off bed. This review is for Dr. Tracy, Dr. Andy and their dental staff @ TFC. My family have been seeing Dr. Tracy for about 18 years @ Edenvale Dental @ Blossom Hill. She is very talented. She cares for our teeth and treasures them as her own. Under her care, our teeth have been healthier & looked nicer. Together with Dr. Andy, Dr. Tracy provided my son the best orthodontic services for his braces (@ the TFC @ White Rd). Dr. Andy was so calm, cool, collected, with a big sense of humor. My son was a typical boy who stopped listening to Mom, but he would listen to Dr. Andy :). My son has smiled more with his beautiful teeth. During the pandemic, I lost my Mom & Aunt. I added a lot of Vitamin C in my smoothie and drank it without using a straw. I stress ate and drank a lot of sweet without knowing what I was eating & drinking. I grinded my teeth more:). I destroyed the enamel of my teeth. As a result, I had had the whole mouth pain. From the X-Ray, Dr. Tracy suspected an abscess and sent me to the newest TFC @ Hellyer for a 3D scan. Wow! I was impressed with the spacious reception areas. The waiting room has plenty of spaces for social distancing. The receptionist, Novia, kindly asked me to fill out forms. I asked if I could wait outdoor. She said yes and texted me when it was my turn to see Dr. Tracy. What a pleasant experience! I was impressed more with the brand new equipments inside, especially with the 3D scanner. Thanks to this scanner, Dr. Tracy caught an abscess underneath my tooth #30 and immediately started a treatment plan for the tooth. It has been towards the end of the year, Dr. Tracy, even with her super busy schedule to help all of her clients, has kindly and patiently helped me getting through this difficult time. She sent me here again for urgent care of my other teeth. I now have no pain and can chew on both sides. I feel so blessed and thankful. Again, many thanks to Dr. Tracy, Dr. Andy, and all of their staff @ TFC for their excellent services. Josiah was so helpful and promptly assisted me with questions and requests regarding the 3D scan disk. Rozel, Dr. Tracy's assistant was very kind and knowledgeable (I am sorry if I miss any staff's name. I had lived on pain relief:)). To me, DENTISTS and DENTAL STAFF are HEROS and ANGELS. Medical doctors have the luxury of telemedicine but dentists don't. Dental staff can quit in fear of getting Covid & enjoy the generous EDD but they don't. If I could give no stars I would. This place has become a joke. The receptionists range from rude and arrogant to careless and unhelpful. As other reviews have stated, kids over the age of 5 can not be accompanied by a guardian. Not a rule that I am thrilled about but I was giving it a chance. However, after two occasions when the dentist almost made a mistake thinking he was treating another patient, I had to complain. When doing extractions, they either don't inject enough numbing medication or they don't know how to do it . In multiple occasions my kids have told them that it still hurts and they will just ignore it. They are uptight about last minute cancellations but will call you literally hours before an appointment to cancel on you. Dr. Andrew's is knowledgeable in pediatric dentistry but he has allowed this place to become a circus and clearly no longer cares about his patients. From my experience with this dental office I will definately give them a 5 star. The front desk staff was nice with no issues at all. Very busy place and of course because its a good dentist office of course it will be busy. Before finding this office he was going to another office off blossom Hill which was not good and my son from there had a hard time with that office and was searching for a place that was good with kid dentistry and came across tooth fairy cottage white rd. Dr Nguyen, Andrew is awesome with my son, friendly. He had some work done like cavities and removing some baby teeth and my son took it like a champ, it helped when Dr was talking with him to calm him. Amazing! My son loves to go to the dentist with out complaining which is great. We recently moved out of the area in merced and had to take him elsewhere. Did not work out too good, we will take the drive and start coming back. My point is that tooth fairy cottage is hands down the best dental office in bay area, and open 7 days a week, wow. Beware of unnecessary procedures like extractions that are NOT needed and they make you believe they are! I have always had a good experience here until I questioned those procedures I was met with what I felt as hostility because I was asking questions. All of a sudden the procedure was up to me... first time I heard this and both of my children had a total of 13 extractions between the both of them!!! and mind you they had already suggested my daughter needed 3 more!!!!! They make a big deal about mask wearing. They said that it was a must but walking in I saw a few people with no mask so I assumed we didn't need one I was asked to wait outside or buy one for two dollars. The receptionists were rude and make you sign the procedures before talking to the dentist which was weird to me as well. never taking my kids there again. I came to this place just because it closed by. every time we came, we saw a new doctor. Dr Andrew is a joker. He gave us an advise, plan for my daughter's teeth but 1st visit he gave us a plan for my daughter's braces, 2nd visit he totally forgot what he had said ... what a joke.. Dr Tracy seem to be a good doctor but not. Price is high and the work is bad. I followed for a while, i dont like to switch doctor, so sometimes i drove to another office of her in downtown. There was a time when my mola wiggle and hurt so I requested to come but Dr Tracy is not there, Receptionists did not tell me that she will be available the next day, so i came that day and the other doctor acted like if I dont take out that tooth I'll be killed. So I had attracted that tooth. Followed up with dr Tracy next day, she said "If it was her she would do the implant same day now it is too late, i had to wait until it heals to reopen the hole for implant" WTH , her price for implant is too high so I ended up with bridge temporary, this was another big problem start, after she drilled my other heathy tooth for bridge, it kept bother me, i asked she said because it new. after 2 years, no longer new it is still bothering me.. We have had a wonderful experience here until we met Andrew Nguyen who held my autistic child down during a melt down while he choked on his saliva to the point where he couldn't breathe so he calm down because he couldn't breathe but as soon as he got up he threw up the saliva he had been choking on. He also squeezed my sons wrist to cause pain so my son would scream so they could do the work. They poorly informed my about bringing my sons own mask for his nitrous treatment, and the doctor recommended doing 1 tooth only, after they already did this last time. Because I got frustrated with the miscommunication, they decided to discharge my son and not see him anymore. He let my son walk out with 10 cavities. Dr Andre has no sympathy and is very judgmental of how he views people. I would never in my life ever recommend this place again. They have the worst customer service I have ever seen. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Do yourself and your children a huge favor and avoid this place at all costs. I really should have read the reviews before going to this place, lesson learned. I booked an appointment for both my kids. It was a red flag from the beginning because who ever took my appointment over the phone was super unprofessional and made it seem that because they were booked so far out that it would be impossible for me to get an appointment, I didn't mind waiting so she booked me 3 months out. I thought that maybe they were booked because they were awesome, oh how wrong I was. Their appointment was starting at 1:30pm. I get there at 1pm knowing I had to fill out the paperwork, there were 3 other people waiting outside and the office was pitch black inside and the door was locked. I assumed they might be on lunch but no where did I see that they post lunch hour. Anyways someone finally comes and opens the door around 1:25 and by that time there was 3 families waiting outside. I check in and of course I have 2 very long forms to fill out. They call us way before I can finish the paperwork and I am greeted by an assistant that tells me I cannot go in with my 8 year old daughter nor with my 5 year old son. Because its the way the office works... whaaaaat? I cannot go with My children that are MINORS into their dental appointment? No way! I was ready to leave but they said it was okay and I could go in so I gave it a chance. I was there for 2 hours and all they did was get their X-ray's without consent which I would have given them but I found it strange they do not ask for consent at that office.They also "cleaned" my children's teeth, and I say "cleaned" because when the actual doctor came over he was still scraping off a lot of residue that was easily visible and removable. What made me cringe so bad was the tools they use and put in my kids mouth where so rusty and the place was filthy. I wish I would have taken pictures, I do not know how I didn't just run out of that place. The very unprofessional "Doctor" told me they both had 1 cavity each and that they would help me at the front to get scheduled for them to be removed. When I tell you I ran outta there so fast and never looked back. Not that they even would have noticed or cared. I just want to forget this ever happened. I am more than satisfied with this dentist. I would first like to give them kudos for having such a diverse staff and not just hiring one race. Making the appointment over the phone was a breeze. They accept several insurance plans including MediCal. Check in went fast and after that there was some wait but thanks to their large flat screen TV we didn't notice it. Surprisingly they were were playing a newer movie (Big Hero 6) unlike other children's dental offices that play movies from when I was a child. The rooms are very clean, child friendly and they all have working flat screen TVs. They also ask your little ones to pick a movie of their choice to enjoy while getting their teeth cleaned. Since the moment that my children came in they were talked to like little adults which was a huge plus because they are the patients at the end of the day. The staff at this location really took the time to get to know my children and to teach them the importance of good hygiene. Dr. Andrew was very detailed and walked us through everything that he was doing. Unfortunately the female Dr. (I feel bad that I didn't catch her name) isn't as talkative but she still does a great job. I have so much more good stuff to say but I'm just going to end it by mentioning that they won my kids over with the prize that they got at the end. Once the kids are done with their appointment they get a token that they use to get a small toy from their vending machine. Very clever! Best of All... They have an open door policy and you can be with your child while he/she is getting treatment done. Awesome! read more
