I have going to this wonderful Dental Spa and Dr. Watanabe for at least 18 years. Always the best!! This last time was just beyond the pale: I started to need serious deep teeth cleaning recently after having to miss a few appointments during Covid. Slowly, and confidently, the good Doctor has been working to resolve my bleeding gums, plaque filled teeth, etc. After my last DEEP CLEANING a few weeks ago, wow! I have absolutely no bleeding for probably the first time in my life. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER and am willing to drive 7 hours to see her! read more

I've been going to see Dr. Watanabe for years based off of a recommendation and she is top notch in her field of dentistry. She offers of warm and inviting atmosphere and her personality is very upbeat and kind and professional, she has state of the art equipment for example to create a tooth on the spot if needed and having just brought my 13-year-old in to see her for a cleaning my daughter has never said before now that she enjoyed the dentist! She really liked it and it changed her opinions of going to the dentist! For example my 13-year-old, was given a warm towel for her neck and her eyes to be covered while Dr. Watanabe cleaned her teeth. There's music and a fountain it going as well as the TV is on to underground aquarium or sea life... And she left with a little goodie bag. I highly recommend this dentist and her company to anyone who has kids, teenagers and for themselves! read more

I'm stressed & work near Downtown. I put in 50 hour weeks like a boss and hate going to the dentist with a passion! I came into the Dental Spa not knowing what to expect. I left a new man! The concept of a relaxing, clean, high tech dentist office is unbelievably cool. I can't believe I just had a routine cleaning and they offered me a foot or hand massage! IT WAS INCREDIBLE! This place is wonderful for dental chickens and masters of pain alike. Here's the skinny.... PROS: Fantastic central and accessible location Professional demeanor, The Doc really knows her stuff and doesn't find things wrong with you just to make a buck. She's an honest and brilliant doctor. So lucky to have had the pleasure of coming in and I look forward to coming in for another cleaning soon! Dr. Watanabe is an excellent dentist and the dental spa is a high quality experience. I've been a patient for three and a half years now. The warm towels provided and optional spa menu are an excellent match. In addition, Nancy, Dr. Watanabe's dental assistant is hands on and on top of it. I've had days where I needed to change my appointment at last minute and it is easy with no repercussions. In addition, I've had fillings done at the office including changing a mercury filling to a white composite, and a small chipped tooth filling. The dental cleanings are also very comfortable and I leave feeling fresh and healthy. Dr. Watanabe's office is conveniently located on the second floor of an office building in Pacific Palisades. I usually park across the street at the metered parking if I'm in a rush or in the neighborhood a couple blocks in and always find all day free parking. I highly recommend the Dental Spa and feel grateful to know a respectable and personable dentist. read more

Had to go see Dr. Watanabe 3 times for a chipped tooth, & was sure she'd charge me again for the last time. Surprisingly & gratefully--she didn't. She used a new filler, & was understanding, patient & kind, as was her assistant Nancy. It's my front tooth, & it's been a challenge, but they've worked with me, and for that, I'm so appreciative. The office is lovely, & it's easy to get parking on the street so u don't have to lay the exorbitant fee in the parking garage. read more

If I could I would give them a 6th star! ALL I have to say is this is......all dental offices should be like this! Loved every single part of my experience! I hope everyone that hasn't given them a try...would. I had to leave my dentist (who I didn't have a problem with at all) just to try what this place had to offer and I feel awful saying this but I am never going back to my old doctor. This is the new age and we should demand new ways at the doctors offices! If I can talk to my phone and ask her to do things for me, I should definitely be getting my hands massaged while getting my teeth cleaned. Dr. Watanabe is the best dentist I've ever had. I was referred to her by friends as a dentist with a more holistic philosophy and does not do unnecessary work. She has saved me thousands of dollars! She always takes such gentle care cleaning my teeth herself, and rather than filling very small cavities like any other dentist doing unnecessary work for more money, she tells me where they are and how to prevent them from getting worse. When my insurance changed and I went to see the approved dentist for the insurance, that dentist told me I needed a root canal. I went to Dr. Watanabe the next day and she couldn't find a reason for a root canal, and that the dull pain in my jaw might actually be dry sinuses and suggested that I get a humidifier and see how that changes things. All of my life my father has been my dentist. You can imagine how nervous I was to visit another dentist for the first time in my life (he's back east in New Jersey). A good friend had recommended Dr. Lynn Wantanabe knowing my fears would be soothed with her. I was also promised very high tech. instruments to make the experience as pain free as possible. Finally after needing a cleaning for quite some time I went to visit Dr. Wantanabe. First impression: The office smelled amazing (my dad's place smelled more like dentist, no offense dad). It looked like a spa more than a dental office; already I was relaxed. The receptionist was lovely; asking all the questions clearly and walking me through most of the check in process. The doctor took me in within minutes of my scheduled appointment, a huge relief knowing I'd be out on time to get back to my office. I gave her my reasons for postponements along with discussing my current dental issues. She simply smiled and said she would take good care of me. The assistant places a warm neck band to relax my neck; which honestly seems brilliant now that I've experienced that. It was a like a warm relaxing hug around my neck while the doctor worked. She explained each procesure before performing it and soothing music played in the background. To be honest, I almost fell asleep while Dr. Watanabe cleaned away all the build I had let go too long without attention. She was extremely detailed with each tooth and careful not to cause much discomfort. She used a neat ultrasonic machine to loosen all the plaque before removing it, which seemed to ease the work later on. She also cleaned my tongue and applied a lip treatment (pretty smart since lips can get cracked during dental procedures). Bonus a hand or foot massage was offered during my cleaning, I declined since I was already pretty relaxed by the great aroma, music and neck hug. Before I left the doctor's office, she give me some tips on cleaning my teeth along with a gift bag. I walked out feeling like I had just been to a spa. How many people can say that about the dentist? And it wasn't that my teeth were in amazing condition, she definitely had to do some work...it was all the extra care and attention that allowed me to trust her. I feel totally positive that my dad might have some serious competition. Hopefully he won't be reading this. Had my first cleaning appt at this office today. Pros: Dr. Watanabe was very friendly, without the ego a lot of other doctors seem to carry, and she seemed knowledgable and competant. I was impressed with the initial patient intake/exam she did. Cons: Had to wait 25 mins (minus the time filling out paperwork, let's call it 15) which is odd since I had the first am appt and wasn't sure why they just weren't ready to take me. Also, the hand massage was sub par, but hey, who else offers a hot towel and hand massage with dental work in the first place?? Stay tuned to see how future visits go - after reading the one star review about not being able to read x-rays, I'm a little scared...but I'm willing to give Dr. Lynn another chance because I did really like her skills and 'bedside manner' today. read more

Best dental experience EVER! I kid not. And who's a fan of the dentist, period? I wish I'd started seeing Dr. Watanabe years ago...it really is a spa atmosphere, with such a pleasant experience. My friend had referred me to her as I wanted someone more holistic than conventional, and I was treated to such comfort, care, and attention. wish i could rate zero stars! her teeth cleaning is quick and painless because she doesn't do anything! i went for a check up and cleaning... spent most of my time waiting... cleaning took less than 5 minutes top! she just poked around and did a little scraping... no polishing... nothing. offered a foot massage... but later said sorry too busy for foot massage. worst part is she could not even read her x-rays! she told me i needed to see a dental surgeon and gave me the info for one. i asked more questions and she would not say anything till finally said i would probably need dental implants or root canals on my 4 front lower teeth... maybe more! or course i had more questions and she said she could not answer them... a great set up to get me worried huh!? well here it is over a year later and i went and saw a qualified dentist in bev hills... there is NOTHING wrong with my teeth! so, lynne gave me bad service, bad advice and pretty much wasted my time and money! gotta say... i would not trust her and go somewhere else if you can. read more

I only write reviews when I feel very strongly that people should know about something weather it's very good or very bad. In this case it's very bad. As another reviewer stated Dr. Watanabe's dentistry leaves much to be desired. Without going into all the details, my son & I both went in on separate appointments, 6 months apart for a general check up & cleaning (my 14 year old son had one small filling). Within days of our visits both of us ended up having root canals with the Endodontist she referred us to around the corner. She is a seemingly decent individual but her ethics and aptitude for dentistry is highly questionable. Something is not right here??? BEWARE! read more
