I can't say enough good things about Dr. Natalia Homyak and her entire practice. Going to the office is always a great experience. It's super modern, beautifully run, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in. The hygienists are wonderful -- so knowledgeable and thorough. They really take their time explaining everything so you leave with a clear understanding of how to best care for your teeth. Dr. Homyak is an absolute rock star. She is kind, positive, supportive, and incredibly communicative, with a calm and thoughtful presence that immediately puts you at ease. If you're someone who feels nervous about going to the dentist, this is the place to go. Her approach is truly virtually painless. She uses advanced techniques and thoughtful methods so you're completely comfortable throughout the entire process, even before any injections. It's honestly amazing. I actually go to my appointments ready to relax, which sounds crazy to say about a dental visit, but it's true. They have blankets, a calming environment, and everything is intentionally set up to make you feel comfortable and cared for. You never feel rushed or anxious. The practice also offers the best in modern dentistry, including same day crowns and inlays, and they bring in an outstanding specialist for root canals. 1) They did an unnecessary set of xrays. I made an appointment for an emergency extraction on a Saturday because I was in a lot of pain. I had xrays, but wouldn't be able to get them from my dentist until Monday. I would have been fine with paying for the extra set of xrays to get out of pain, but they didn't even look at them. They wouldn't treat me until I got a note from my doctor because of some meds I'm on. That's fine, but they don't get to xray me for no reason. 2) They referred me to another practice, then forgot to send them a referral or the xrays they had taken. Santa Monica Dental at 2001 Wilshire (who I highly recommend) ended up giving me free xrays since it wasn't my fault no one sent them my xrays. read more

If I could give 100/10 -- I absolutely would! I'll be honest -- the dentist's chair used to terrify me. But I finally decided to take the first step, and after searching through so many clinics in LA, I found this one. What a blessing. First of all, my teeth have never been examined this thoroughly in my entire life. They created a clear treatment plan, and everything began from there. Was I scared? Yes -- but the moment I sat in that chair, I knew I was in the hands of real professionals. I now don't even know what pain in a dental chair feels like! In the past, I had awful experiences with numbing shots, but here... I didn't even realize when the anesthesia was administered. I was honestly amazed. And don't even get me started on the kindness, the professionalism, and the respect from the entire team. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming -- I truly believe that once you try this clinic, you won't want to go anywhere else. We're still mid-treatment, but I already feel so grateful and happy with the results. One of the stages was Zoom whitening and a composite redo of my front tooth -- and I'm blown away. The new tooth blends in so naturally, you'd never know it's been worked on. Even I forget it's composite! I was referred to this dental office by a gal at my yoga studio and had my first teeth cleaning appointment today! You have to pay for parking ($16) and the office is a bit of a maze to get to but other than that I would give them a 10/10. I believe Stephanie (sorry if I'm misspelling or got your name wrong) was my hygienist and she was probably the best I've experienced in LA in the last 10 years. I've been going to Dr. Homyak for several years, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience, which is basically unheard of when it comes to the dentist. Every single staff member, from the hygienists to the front desk, is always so kind and welcoming. One time, I even called the office at 5 PM on a Friday in a total panic because my veneer popped off. It was a front tooth veneer (so yes, we're talking full-on, no-front-tooth embarrassment). I had the best experience with Dr.Homyak! She was super friendly and welcoming, she detected a crack in my tooth that was impossible to find on X-ray. My "treatment plan" was a minimum of 15K to 18K at this dentist compared to comparable quotes of 500 hundred dollars at two other ethical dentists on the west side. Seriously. Eye-popping discrepancy. Totally aggressive dentistry, seemingly driven by profit motive. The hygienists and front office staff are kind and welcoming, but they probably don't get that they are part of a bait-and-switch rip-off business in my opinion. Not a place of healing in any way. I scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Homyak and was only told upon arrival that I would have to take whoever was available. Dr Patel was who I had to go with. She tried to shame me into an absurd amount of completely unnecessary work. Involving the replacing of perfectly good fillings and crowns. They have a "treatment plan" sales office ready to talk you into financing whatever they come up with that day. I can't imagine how many sweet souls are successfully terrified by these shark-like, shaming, people and end up in unnecessary medical debt as a result. It is similar to being pushed into buying a car. I would stay away from this place unless you have massive disposable income and want veneers or something. read more

Tell clients what you're going to do BEFORE you do it, and ask if it's OK with them. Make full walls and put doors between the rooms so that clients can't hear everyone's conversations, drilling, music, etc. It's quite chaotic and not conducive to relaxing during a dental procedure. As a result of what was done to my teeth, I need reparative dental work and am in pain. Don't go here! IMO, when they find out you have good dental insurance, you'll suddenly need a LOT of procedures, as others have said. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I fired this dentist in January. St the time I had to pay $110.00 for a routine preventative cleaning. They explained it was because they are no longer preferred provider of delta dental. I paid it that day. Now eight months later I get a vague statement saying I owe $164.00. I am reporting them to better business bureau and getting my lawyer involved. I have never encountered such a greedy dentist! Don't go there! She is not trustworthy! I had the best experience at this office. I unfortunately need a lot of dental work and the main reason why is because i'm a nervous wreck when it comes to seeing the dentist. But i know that i need to get treatment. Visiting this office and meeting with Dr.Yang made me feel so comfortable. Had a great experience. Would have given it a 5 but because of the $16 parking charge with no validation I unfortunately had to take off a star. Street parking is very limited because of nearby homeless but unfortunately in that is out of their control. Otherwise my hygienist Jesse it was great he was pretty fast but very thorough. The office itself looked very clean, even had an air filter. I choose this doctor because of the way that I was greeted on the phone during my first call. Whoever I initially spoke to was very sweet. I rarely ever leave bad reviews for any business - big or small - because I know how hard it is to be an entrepreneur. That said, I wanted to share a warning about Dr. Natalia Homyak, whom I've been visiting for YEARS until today. Much like the poster below (Mitch) I experienced predatory and highly unethical billing practices. Whenever I used to visit, I would receive the bill upfront and agree to pay that amount - I always asked to ensure it's the price I'm willing to pay. However, Dr. Natalia Homyak attempted to collect a "debt" for a cleaning that was done last year because apparently my insurance revised how much money they'd receive and so they wanted me to pay more out of pocket -- this is super unethical and is absolutely not what I agreed to. The front desk also told me that "everyone agrees that the payment is only an estimate" - which is funny, because I highly doubt they would revise "downwards" should I have overpaid ;) That said, I usually give every business a chance so I called in and spoke to a lady working the front desk - she gave me a really blunt explanation and sounded like a debt collector, to be honest. I don't blame her, she's just doing her job. That said--avoid Dr. Natalia Homyak at all costs. After referring several friends over the years, I will be moving onto a new hygienist going forward. Dr. Natalia Homyak, I sincerely hope you reconsider your billing practices and treatment of both new and legacy customers. I'm super disappointed in you and I know you can do better. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Homyak's for years and the experience used to be the best. She and her staff were caring, attentive, and thorough. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was everything but. It now feels like any other large dentist office. Quick turn around, upselling, and a lack of personal attention. I was told I needed an $85 antibiotic for a slight gum infection (which I couldn't see or feel), but wasn't told about the cost until the hygienist literally had the syringe in her hand. Was seen by a dentist I've never met (without notice) and the exam was a minute, or two at most. $140 for the cleaning, $110 for the exam, and $85 for the "medicine". It makes me sad to say that this will probably be mine and my husband's last visit to this office. UPDATE: Back to five stars they go! Not three days after I left this review, Dr. Homyak reached out to me to let me know how sorry she was for this experience and that she would definitely use this as a lesson to share with her staff. I truly appreciate her kindness and professionalism and will be back for my next cleaning. read more

I strongly recommend Natalia Homyak, DDS. I just had a crown replaced and the experience was great. I found Dr. Homyak through a referral by a physician's assistant who I know and who is a patient of Dr. Homyak's. Everyone was friendly and understanding. I was apprehensive about having dental work based on past experiences. The office is very high tech, with scanners instead of trays for impressions of teeth and a 3D scanner to make crowns. The appointment took about 2 hours, as promised. Dr. Homyak removed my old crown and prepared the site in about 20 minutes, after waiting for my mouth to be numbed. She had to remove a cavity under the old crown, the reason for the replacement. Much of my time in the office was spent waiting, in my case reading an e-book. Dr. Homyak took care to fit my new crown so that I could still use my Invisalign post-treatment retainer. I'll definitely be back for routine dental and any repairs or changed that are needed. read more

Their treatment philosophy is, in my experience, very aggressive and you will probably end up spending much more time and money here than you would at other dentists. Faith, Veronica, America, Carmen and the other dental hygienists were all great. Dr Homyak was initially very good but over time she would not listen to my concerns nor return my calls, even though I still get contacted to schedule to this day...so odd. I've now found a dentist who listens to me and is addressing my pain. I think the expansion of the business and working on increasing revenue by changing how they take insurance became a priority over listening to and focusing on patients needs. Unfortunately I will have to redo some of the work I had done costing me thousands. It's a shame because they had a great thing going for a while and took good care of me. I use yelp reviews a lot, but this is the first one I've written. I've had regular dental check ups and cleanings every 6 months for many years, but my previous dentist retired. Dr. Homyak was recommended by someone who had heard good things about her. The hygienist there probed my teeth much harder than they've been probed before, and said I had a lot of deep pockets that were 4, 5, and even 6 mm deep. Dr. Homyak said I would need to schedule a "deep cleaning," and she wanted to replace many of my crowns, for over $8000. She said they were old, and it didn't matter if I wasn't having any pain or sensitivity. She said that if I waited for pain, there was a 50% chance of needing a root canal to save the tooth. I've never been told that by a dentist before! I've never had a root canal, and I've never had work done unless I was having pain or there was a cavity. The hygienist tried to sell me on getting the work done, saying that I basically did have cavities and that there was "bacteria" in my mouth. (There is always bacteria in our mouths!) But I had had a checkup and cleaning 6 months earlier, and didn't have deep pockets, and was told that everything was fine. I was very worried and almost went through with the deep cleaning, but it's done in two big procedures, and I wanted to get a second opinion first. I found another dentist, and the hygienist there measured only 2 and 3 mm pockets, which is what I had been told previously, and the dentist said that my current crowns were still bonded and not failing, and my gums were healthy so he saw no reason to have any work done if I wasn't having symptoms. I was glad I followed my instincts and got a second opinion. read more

I found this dental office via Google and Yelp as being one of top rated in the area. They were able to get me in next day for a checkup and cleaning. Faith was my dental hygienist, and she was very informative and communicative during each step of the process. Her upbeat personality also helped ease any concerns I had throughout my visit. At the end of my visit, I met with Dr. Homyak. She was very similar to Faith in her communication, and gave me great referrals to next steps if needed. Dr. Homyak's dental practice is a Golden Standard of what dental practice should be. I'm a long time patient, followed Dr. Homyak though many years and few offices. What I love about them: 1) Professionalism: I'm a fan of "second opinions" and I always end up following Dr. Homyak's recommendations and getting services at her office. 2) Customer service is "top": they really care about me feeling comfortable and well catered to. "She's got dry lips- Vaseline please! ", "can I charge my phone somewhere - sure!", "Netflix- yes!", "low sugar- apple juice!", "blanket"... Small things like that really matter! 3) Front desk is super responsive, friendly, quick. I don't remember myself just sitting and waiting. They follow up, deal with insurance on the spot or even before I ask. They emphasize safety quite a bit! 4) The office is light, clean and modern! Big windows, wooden floors, pleasant calming color palette and functional design. 5) The latest equipment and technology. It is a one stop for a crown for example, I get my crowns "3d printed" and installed within one visit. No waiting for weeks, no multiple fittings, no f*ck ups! 6) The pricing: real example, 05/18/2022, broke my tooth, need a crown. Went two places, one gave the estimate - 600$ out of pocket, at Dr. Homyak I payed 400$ out of pocket. 7) Urgent issues accommodations! So grateful that Dr. Homyak or her team can fit me in on a short notice, even if it is at 7 am in the morning, before the office is officially open. They just get it, they really understand especially if it is a personal matter. So humane! 8) Ethics!!! And common sense! It is their priority to preserve health in a long term. How many times I asked "should I just do veneers?", but their response was "let's do what we can to preserve what is, we can always do veneers later". I was very happy I didn't insist! 9) The atmosphere! All together, there is feeling that it is a "cohort" of like minded and mean-well people, who are also professionals! This place... came here for a cleaning and check up awhile ago, the cleaning was extremely uncomfortable the male that was doing my cleaning kept stabing my gums I made it known that he was hurting me,still kept doing his thing. they recommended all these different treatments. Flash forward to today I show up for my cleaning and I'm told that I will be getting a "deep cleaning" cause the last time I was there the hygienist diagnosed me with needing one, I asked if he's a doctor to be diagnosing me and they just stood quiet then they proceed to tell me "we don't make recommendations only diagnosis" which I thought was weird as that wasn't told to me when I was there last or when I made my appointment for today, I tell them well idk I'm just here for a regular cleaning they deny my cleaning until I do this "deep cleaning" they diagnosed me with, which is odd cause I've had other dentist tell me I'm not a candidate for! Weird to turn a patient away who's just wanting to get their teeth cleaned! It comes off money hungry and desperate. read more

How Many businesses have 5 stars???? Shes great. Ive been a patient for something like ten years. She specializes in pain free dental care. Shes given me shots in my mouth and I barely feel it. Dr Natalia Homyak is also a VERY sharp cookie. My first visit I sat in her chair and right away she told me I needed a root canal... now, Im very skeptical when a DDS can basically diagnose something like that in about ten seconds that none of my dozens of Dentists before her ever caught. She showed me that i had feeling in my other teeth but not that one, sure enough, I needed a root canal. Recently she told me I grind my teeth, Ive never done that before so I was like sure sure but then i started paying closer attention and apparently I grind my teeth. Dr Natalia Homyak REALLY cares about her patients. Shes a great Dentist. Id rather not give her five stars because I dont want a bunch of yelpers booking her schedule and making it hard to get it but she really deserves it. I go to see her for my usual check ups but since Ive done Martial Arts my whole life and well... Im getting older now, I have some issues in my grill but she is really good about suggesting preventative care, working with a plan of action and making sure you get what you need. I've been a patient at Dr Homyak's office for a few years & I'm always impressed with this office. Every one is friendly, I'm seen promptly even when I'-m early, all the hygienists & dentists listen to me, answer my questions, share & explain X-Rays/CT Scans/3D Images, etc. My concerns are not dismissed & I'm not talked over when explaining my concerns. Many years ago when I was in the US Air Force I worked in the dental services so I know a bit about oral hygiene & many of the treatments for dental issues. I never disclose this in my first visits to a new dentist so I can tell if I'm being taken advantage of. A little over a year ago I was working in a different state & a molar broke. I went to an emergency clinic & the dentist there told me an extraction was the only option. I made a valid argument to the dentist about why the tooth was still salvageable & to please just put a temp filling in. Since the broken bit was super close to the pulp chamber (visible on an XRay), I agreed to let her start the root canal process to avoid the pain that was sure to follow within a few days. A temporary filling was then put in place. After I finished that procedure I contacted Dr Homyak's office via email to explain what had happened & to share the emergency clinic's info so she could get my records from them. 3 weeks later I was back home & one of Dr Homyak's associates did a complete root canal & a crown was 3D printed in-office. That particular tooth has been a little weird since the root canal, & each time I've talked about it with Dr Harkavy (who is my regular dentist in this practice) I've been listened to & taken seriously. The crown has been adjusted a few times to better fit my bite. Today I saw the endodontist again & he suggested we do a CT Scan to see what's going on in more detail than an X-Ray can provide. That scan was done in-house so I didn't need to schedule an appointment somewhere else on another day. He shared the images with me & explained that what was going on was more of a periodontal issue rather than a root canal thing. This was not a surprise to me since I floss like a fiend & when the tooth broke I was a little more aggressive in my flossing of that tooth while I was dealing with the temp filling. All in all, I am more than ecstatic with this dental practice. It's super clean, bathrooms are around the corner from the office & also super clean. If someone were to ask me for anything that is a down side of this practice, it would be that I wish they validated parking, and that has nothing at all to do with the services provided by the practice. I actually just left this office and had to leave a comment/review. I found this office with a random yelp search, the reviews were really great and they advertised an amazing diverse staff and I can verify that all of things things are true! The office is gorgeous and the staff is friendly, caring, and trustworthy. I felt completely at home and cared for. They clearly laid out my plan to get my teeth back to a healthy place and I am looking forward to the journey with them! Faith, my dental hygienist was wonderful to talk to, and did a spectacular job! Veronica and Jackie at the front desk were very nice and extremely helpful. I recommend this office 100%!! read more
