Over the past year, I've had three cleaning appointments canceled. The call center keeps making appointments on their own, and then the office calls to cancel them because there's no hygienist available and I need to reschedule. Don't go here. I booked an appointment for a wisdom teeth removal. They confirmed they could do this consultation. They called the day prior to confirm I would show. When I went in, I waited 30 minutes only for them to say they don't have an oral surgeon and couldn't help me. They then stated I needed braces, without asking whether this is something I even want. Felt very much like a push just to get more money out of me in my opinion. Terrible management and consideration for patient. read more

Directs me to reach out again to the incapable outsourced call center to attempt to resolve erroneous billing - I have placed three calls already without any resolution to being billed for services not associated with anything performed on me! Another call is doubtful for resolution. Worst patient care, had been a patient for over 10 years and the dental office said they didn't have dental hygienist for regular cleanings any longer. Also their billing department cannot get billing done accurately. Most significantly, you cannot talk to anyone in their office about appointments or billing, all is handled by a call center outside of the US and extremely unqualified to do either. read more

This office does not answer the phone nor return calls as requested. I had an Invisalign appointment 10/10/25. Shortly before my scheduled arrival time the office texts stating the trays did not arrive. Apologized for the inconvenience and stated they would reach out to me upon receipt. That was nearly a month ago. I have not heard from them since. The office doesn't answer the phone. Instead it's forwarded to their answering service. My first follow up attempt, requesting an update was misdirected to the Easton location. They promptly returned my call advising of the oversight. I phoned again, call went back to the answering service. I once again requested a call within 24 hours. Crickets.. they received payment in full through CareCredit and I haven't heard from them since. It's ironic that communication was consistent when they wanted me to agree to Invisalign and financing. I'm two payments in and no treatment. My next call is to CFPB. This office is grossly negligent and careless in regards my dental experience. I'm disappointed and disgusted. It's not the first time they've let me down. They told my 19 year old daughter she had 6 cavities and they would not do a standard cleaning as they need to fill cavities first, so we told her to come home and shocking she did not have any cavities. We were also told they could do a cleaning prior to filling the cavities (which she had none) such a scam not reputable. Now we still owe a bill and they billed the insurance company. Had an appointment for cleaning at 8:00 am 12/18/25. When I arrived at 7:45 the office was closed and dark with a sign on the door that said opens at 9:00. I sat in the parking lot until 8:25 when someone opened the door. When I went inside the receptionist and hygienist laughed at me and claimed they were both there at 7:45. I did not get the cleaning. I've been going to Dental Works for nearly 20 years and it is excellent! Dr Jain is careful to only schedule filling when necessary. Teeth cleaning has been excellent! I see a few poor reviews here and I advise strongly to discount these. My comments above address the core important service issues. if customer service was poor then chalk that up to tough labor market not the practice itself. I have tried multiple times to reschedule but no one answers and their answering service is extremely rude. Finally in July 2025 someone answers. I had an appointment here this week for my bi-annual checkup and cleaning. I previously went to the Easton location as I participate in the DMO with my insurance and all Dentalworks are in-network. I had very ordinary experiences at the Easton location, but at the Polaris location, closer to my new home now, was upsetting. I don't have "going to the dentist" anxiety or fear. What I do have is a history of being recommended procedures that are unnecessary so the practice can bill. TBH, this only ever happens to me at franchised practices, like here and Aspen Dental. In my early 20's at an Aspen Dental, I was diagnosed with 3 cavities. 1 needed drilled immediately, the others could be watched. I left in tears as I'd never had a cavity in my life and now I had 3. The following weekend I'd be visiting my parents and made a "second opinion" appointment with my pediatric dentist. She took a look in my mouth and what was diagnosed as cavities were actually stains. She believed that the dentist at Aspen Dental either was incompetent or trying to bill the insurance company for additional services that I might not need. Due to COVID, I was unable to have an appointment earlier this year, so it had been a year since my last cleaning and all of a sudden I had gingivitis and required a "deep cleaning." It was interesting to me because the hygienist immediately asked about brushing and flossing and I normally fib, but I was straight up with her that I hadn't been the best--everyday is the same on lockdown. Looking back on it, I may have given her an open to diagnose me with the ging. So she takes x-rays and then does the gum measurements and says them out loud without documenting them herself or having someone else record them. I had mostly 1,2,3, a handful of 4 and a 5. She asked if my mouth was sore or in pain which it was not. She said she couldn't move forward with a cleaning until she got the Dentist. Dr. Jian came in. Reviewed my X-rays (No cavities, Mom!) and kept saying over and over again, "we take care of you." She asked if I had any issues and I explained that I did have a sharp ridge on a molar that had been filled that a dentist had filed for me in the past to rectify. She again said, "we take care of you." Dr. Jian leaves and the hygienist tells me that I have to have a gingivitis "deep cleaning" that she can perform on me if her next client is a no-show. This is something I've never had before and did not really understand aside from her explaining my gums needed to be irrigated. Shame on Dr. Jian for making her young hygienist and support staff explain procedures to me and do her dirty work. This should come from the dentist. No wonder I immediately became skeptical about what was going on. Her next patient did show up, so I was ushered to the receptionist who told me that they would work up a plan of care with my insurance company and call tomorrow with details and costs associated. That night I looked up the validity of these "deep cleanings." In every search, keywords "fraudulent dentistry" populated in the query. From my understanding via the Internet, (because Dr. Jain's explanation was only she'd "take care of me.") these more intense cleanings, sometimes multiple sessions, required anesthesia and could cause bone/enamel damage or abscesses and should only be done if absolutely necessary. Otherwise, mild gingivitis could be turned around with OTC toothpastes & mouthwashes specialized for preventing gum disease. Dentalworks calls & my additional out-of-pocket cost for the cleaning would be $100. I asked her if it would be completed in one session and she assured me it would be and no anesthesia required since I was very mild. So basically I had to go back again and have my teeth cleaned for an extra hundred bucks, which would have been pretty damn similar to the normal cleaning I should have gotten the day before. I declined this "special" cleaning. She then asked if I'd like to schedule the filling. Confused, I said to her I didn't have any cavities and she responded that Dr. Jian needed to fix my sharp tooth with a new filling. Wow. What horseshit! So I'll be switching back to Easton for my appointments in the future and then evaluating other insurance options at open enrollment. If you read this and still plan on going, please know that they are charging $10 per visit, not covered by insurance for employee PPE due to COVID. I have no issue paying this fee, but was annoyed I was not told about it upfront at the time I made my appointment and when the staff called to confirm. I just hope these hygienists are in fact getting fresh PPE and not having to pay out of pocket for their own. I hate to make that judgement, but TBH my whole experience with Dr. Jian made me feel scammed. read more

From Texas and while visiting Columbus I had a tooth crack. My parents use this dentist and recommended I try it out. Even though it was last minute and this happened during Covid they were still able to get me in very quickly and taken care of. They were great about explaining my options and pricing up front before starting any work. For someone who has major anxiety visiting the dentist I felt very much at ease here. The dentist and her assistant made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The pricing with my insurance was a lot less than I've experienced elsewhere. Wish I could make this my regular dentist. Who knows maybe I'll drive across the US twice a year just to come in for a check up. I highly recommend this place. read more

We brought our children over and the staff were simply amazing caring, serving to the best of their ability. Abby in the office did everything to help and make our visits smooth and seamless. My oldest had to have 3 wisdom teeth removed. From start to finish it was a good process. I was impressed. Seeing the dentist isn't a walk in the park but the staff were terrific. read more

A little background: I have been going to the same dentist for the past 15 years. Every year I have gone in, I have had perfectly healthy teeth and no gum issues. I had to switch providers and so I decided to go to DentalWorks Polaris. Wasn't long before they were telling me that I have gingivitis and probably gum disease and need to get a deep cleaning. If you know how the gum rating system works, I have always had 1-3s on all of my teeth, but today they told me that several of my teeth were "definitely 5s". I wasn't too concerned until Dr. Jian came in. She was very aggressive and was not receptive to anything I said. She kept pointing out plaque that was under my front teeth, saying that these teeth are at major risk of gum disease and that I need a deep cleaning. The plaque under my front teeth builds up within weeks because I have a permanent retainer; I take great care of this area and I can typically scrape all of the plaque off within 10 minutes. When I told her this, she didn't believe me, and demanded that I "prove it to her" if I wanted her to believe me. I was outraged. I am paying for your services to help me, not to disagree with me and tell me what I have to do. Long story short, she told me that I have early gum disease and need a deep cleaning, and will do follow ups weekly afterwards. She told me it was my fault this happened because I didn't come in during the last 6 months too. I came to the internet to find that this place SCAMS people. They overexaggerate what needs to be done (maybe just to make a quick buck off of people??) anyways, I highly advise going somewhere else; already have a second opinion appointment scheduled and I am certain I don't have gum disease. What a horrible experience, doctor wants to address most expensive options on teeth that aren't in pain, and ignore broken tooth I came in for in the first place. On third visit she accuses me of having a bad memory because I didn't agree with her backward treatment plan, which fixes my broken tooth with an exposed nerve last. This has been the worst dentist experience I have ever had. Our daughter has had braces on for an extended period of time due to the brackets constantly breaking leading us to have to go in for unscheduled appointments not to mention the brackets then are cutting the inside of her lip. Additionally, they do not offer cleaning or ortho appointments on the same day so those are separate appointments and days you have to go in. They also hardly answer the phone. When I arrived to my first appointment for a consultation in December, they told me that they had received the x-rays from my referring dentist but not the notes, so I had to reschedule. Due to their availability, the earliest date I could reschedule was a month later. About 30 minutes after I arrived to the rescheduled appointment, a man checked in to see the same doctor I was supposed to see. He was seen and checked out within 15 minutes. After waiting a total of 65 minutes without being seen, I left. They have no respect for other people's time nor do they take responsibility for obtaining the documents they need from other offices. I will never take my family to this practice again. Dr. Jian does not speak english well and due to her lack of communication skills can't effectively diagnose patients or make them feel at ease, especially children. Seemingly from her evaluation everything was fine and then when we went to check out they asked when we wanted to have cavities filled and tried to refer my son to a dentist that wasn't approved by our insurance. Come to find out after transferring to a different primary care dentist, my son does needs some extensive work that requires a special referral. The dentist Dr. Jian tried to refer us to is still not an option, however being able to tell us what was going on and our next steps would have saved me months of trying to work with our insurance to get switched to a different primary dentist office and get the appropriate referral completed. There was another Indian fellow who was also waiting ahead for hour and a half. At two hours mark he complained to the receptionist about the wait time; a bit louder but not like he was yelling. Another Caucasian customer who just showed up 15 minutes earlier started yelling at the Indian fellow and flung the chair at him. been here twice in the span of 10 days. went monday and thought i was gonna get everything taken care of that i normally would. nope.. they just took pictures of my teeth, explained the treatment plan and scheduled me for my cleaning when i told them i wanted to get in for a cleaning. went back for a cleaning and then they cleaned me like normal, and then put my temporary crown on. this obviously was the most expensive thing they could get out of me so it was the first thing they took care of. they might as well get down on their knees and beg me for my money bc it seems money is their only concern. i saw 4 DIFFERENT dentists.. that's the most i've ever seen in 1 day! i spent more time laying down in the chair waiting around for them. these people don't care about how comfortable you are, if your hurting, how long your waiting, if your mouth is in pain during procedures.. they know at the end of the day that they're still going to get paid read more

This review is long overdue but it's such a sensitive topic that I know, even now having waited 8 months to collect my thoughts, I still won't do it justice. In November 2017, we got the best news of our lives when we found out we were pregnant. Shortly thereafter, in December 2018, I began having severe tooth pain that was keeping me up at night and, of course, being in the first trimester of my pregnancy, my options for pain management were quite limited. So, I did what made the most sense and went to Dr. Jian's office to have it diagnosed and treated. Although I wasn't showing yet, I told them I was pregnant during our first appointment so they could bear that in mind as they carried out the treatment plan. They ended our session and asked for my OB's contact info to get clearance to treat me directly from her. It truly was a blessing in disguise that I had the foresight to call my doctor's office to follow up with them and ensure they had sent clearance over before what could've been a traumatic second appointment at this practice. The nurse at my OB's office said they'd sent over a document clearing me for any dental work so long as no epinephrine was used with the numbing agent. That's because epinephrine is a synthetic form of adrenaline that could send a pregnant woman into preterm labor. I thanked the nurse for the update and scheduled my next appointment at DentalWorks Polaris. So I show up for my next appointment and am sitting in the chair as the dental assistant is preparing the tray. Dr. Jian comes in, grabs the syringe with the numbing agent in it and is headed for my mouth. Still not showing, I tell myself "don't be THAT patient, Val," but in that split second I realize my baby's safety depends on it so I quickly blurt out "there's no epinephrine in that, right?" and Dr. Jian stops cold in her tracks. "Why, are you pregnant?" as she turns away from me and starts to remove the medicine that's been pre-loaded into the syringe by her dental assistant (you know, the same one that was making its way into my mouth before I became THAT patient). "Yes," I remind her, "I told you that at my last visit." She turns to her computer, clicks a few times, and says "ah, yes, here's your doctor's instructions: 'no epinephrine.'" Then she simply replaced the numbing agent with one that didn't contain epinephrine and proceeded to complete the work LIKE IT WASN'T A BIG DEAL OR EVEN WORTH NOTING. But, here's the kicker, guys: after that second appointment she referred me to an endodontist for a root canal and asked me to return after that work was completed to place a bridge. During my third visit at DentalWorks, no longer concerned about being 'THAT patient' bearing our last encounter in mind, I asked once again, needle in mouth "there's no epinephrine in that, right?" and wouldn't you know it it was deja vu as she tried to send me into preterm labor for the second time in 3 weeks! I was truly mind blown. I went home and was in tears as I told my normally pretty patient husband about how this had happened AGAIN. He was incredulous and encouraged me to write a review to warn others of the negligence going on at this practice. This is not my regular dentist, but they were able to get me in quickly when I was having a dental emergency. Dr. Jian is wonderful, very empathetic. I have a huge problem with gagging while getting dental work done, and she has been patient with me and worked with me the whole time, stopping when I need a break and explaining what she is doing as she is doing it. I'm sure they are great for regular cleanings and exams, but if you have an emergency and need someone to get you in quickly, this is a great option. read more

No nonsense dentistry. First off, this office is located in the Sears in the Mall, on the first floor. This alone may seem tacky, but the services are good. Unfortunately I was cavity free until I came here. Not that it was their fault, but they made the experience of getting my first fillings (since I was a kid and lost those cavity teeth) a good experience. They even took teeth molds and gave me a free teeth whitening kit! I take fairly good care of my teeth and hadn't been to the dentist in four years since I got my wisdom teeth pulled. I chose this Dentist because it's covered by my insurance and their website said they do pediatric dentistry. I've wanted to find a dentist my whole family can go to. I've been trying to figure out what age children can go to a family dentist because most insurance policies treat pediatric dentists as specialists. The pediatric dentist my son sees is great, but because of changing jobs I've had three different insurance policies in the last three years. My son's pediatric dentist is finicky with insurance and seems to be changing what insurance they accept every time we visit. I was told by the receptionist at Dentalworks after my first appointment that they would see my son, but if he needed any fillings or other work they would refer him to a pediatric dentist. Update: I took my son there for a cleaning and he loved it. The only negative is his x-rays didn't turn out because the equipment was too big for his mouth. read more

After getting appointment which was 2+ weeks out, went here for regular dental cleaning for 11:30 appointment, was told to plan ~90 mins for cleaning. They took me in at 11:45 and took a bunch of X-Rays for almost 30 mins, did gum health check for another 15 mins. After making me wait some more for the doctor, Dr Jian spent about 5 mins to go thru all of this and come up with a treatment plan, not caring to explain anything, dumping all jargons on me and not caring to ask reason of my visit. Next thing I know, I have an estimate of 870$ just for deep-cleaning and an overall treatment plan of $2432 including large out-of-pocket costs which my insurance wouldn't cover! I asked if they can just do a normal cleaning as thats what I came here for - they said they cannot do it and they'd do only deep-cleaning per xrays and this cost is normal for a deep-cleaning! By this time it was almost 1 pm and I had to return to work, this being a Monday. I asked for next availability and they are completely booked till 5 weeks! Not only the provider didn't care or listen to what I was saying; few weeks go by and they sent me a bill of $219.00 for DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! read more

Unfortunately, DentalWorks just lost a long time customer. I started taking my family to them at Tuttle Mall over 10 years ago. Then moved to the Polaris Office for the last 4 years. Just got off the phone with "Abby" the manager. She was calling to schedule teeth cleanings now that COVID-19 restrictions are being lifted. Abby informed us that we had to bring $10.00 with us to the appointment to help pay for the PPE they have to wear. WHAT???? They all wear masks anyway. Why charge the patient extra and how is this my responsibility? It's not about the money, but about making us feel responsible for COVID-19 restrictions. DentalWorks can't afford PPE? It is tough to expect top of the line dentistry with a DMO. That being said, I had dental work done a little over a year ago. I needed a few fillings, but it got rough. My teeth were over drilled, leaving them sensitive. They drilled so deep on one i needed a root canal after. Long story short, I recommend finding a more suitable doctor, especially if you have children. *I have since seen 2 other dentists and have shown my x-rays from my visit @ Dental Works. Both agreed the work could have been better. I very much dislike saying negative things... but I feel it's necessary in this case. read more
