I've been going to oak Creek for years and have truly gotten to love these people. I'm a complicated case. They've done everything they can do to work with my medical roadblocks to dental health. Dr Johnson is super, and all of the staff from office to my hygienists feel like they care. They know me, and we have a family type interaction. We were referred to Dr Segnini. We got Dr. johnson who is judgmental,rude and is a compulsive talker. He would not trust our referring dentist's plan and gave her a hard way to go as well. We requested to be switched to Dr Segnini and the office refused BEFORE we had our first treatment. Dr. Johnson talks over you, ignores your drug allergies and caused my son to have a reaction. His nurse missed the vein and began digging injuring the nerve in our sons hand yet our son was willing to try the IV again, but Dr. Johnson thought he was being a sissy and became verbally abusive. Dr. Johnson argued with my husband who is a respected surgeon. The office staff then sent our records to a dentist we do not know and did not approve. GO TO NORTHSTAR FAMILY DENTISTRY they are nice, take insurance and are open late. They have 5 dentists and an anesthesiologist. Also patient rights state you can ask for another provider at any time at a dental or medical office, so the staff lied to us. We were not referred to Dr Johnson !! He has a real attitude problem. We were looking for another dentist. Before I got the new dentist, he burst out of his office into the waiting room after missing our sons vein and verbally abused me stating he would not treat our disabled son & it is not his practice. ( 2 years we put up with his nasty condescending behavior,) His family dentist loves him. His new dentist loves him and says he is a great patient. So what gives with Dr. Johnson only the DSM 5 can say. read more

I had been a patient there for 15 years. Had an emergency situation that happened Friday evening. I called twice on Friday and again Saturday morning leaving messages that I needed seen for a broken partial. The office didn't call me back until Monday morning. Due to the urgency, I located another Dentist who got me in Saturday morning. Prior to this I had been very pleased with Oak Creek. In my opinion they have a financially strong practice now so aren't as concerned for their patients. Office hours have been reduced and no Saturday hours. Wow. I am TERRIFIED of dentists in general, but these guys are great. Their commercials advertise a "judgment-free" zone, and it's totally true. At my last dentist it didn't matter why I'd go in, I'd get scolded because I wasn't flossing properly, but at Oak Creek they promise to encourage good dental health but not to make you feel like crap if you have something wrong. In my case they really lived up to this promise. For a few years I've known I should get my wisdom teeth out but I was too scared to do anything about it. Last Sunday (the Sunday before Thanksgiving) I started experiencing terrible pain in my wisdom teeth. It got so bad I couldn't eat and since Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday I knew I had to do something about it. I called Monday morning and they got me in right away. They shaved down my tooth so I'd be able to eat on Thanksgiving, and scheduled me for a wisdom teeth removal for yesterday. They made the whole process easy and never once was I made to feel bad. Also, they probably should get five stars alone for the fact that the laughing gas is FREE.for any procedure-- even exams-- if you are like me and need a little something extra before someone goes shoving things in your mouth. I'll give them 2 stars for the dental emergency I had on a Saturday. Although they charged me a much higher price for a root canal than I've ever paid! I did get dental insurance through my employer soon after. Then the calls and high pressure to get me to come back. I did finally call and was told in a snippy manner, "no we don't accept that and never have!" I was then quoted around $300 for teeth cleaning and xrays if I paid out of pocket. I am blown away by this place. It had been years since I've gotten my teeth checked so I went to another dental office who offered a $70 coupon for a new patient check up. That place told me I needed $3,000 worth of fillings out of pocket without insurance, so I called around and Oak Creek Dental gave me an estimate of $1800 for the work. I made an appointment with them and was told I don't need any work! It was explained that my cavities were so small that as long as I kept them clean and get regular check ups I should be all good. Finally, a place that's honest and isn't just after my money. Also when they were explaining the mouth guards they offer there was never any pressure or trying to upsell, it was great and will make me more likely to purchase one in the future. About 2 years ago I needed to find a new dentist due to my previous dentist retiring. Going to the same site with new staff just wasn't working for me. Fortunately, a good friend suggested that we try Oak Creek Dental Care. They are SUPER! We have been extremely pleased with the work of the Dr. and their entire staff. Great quality, caring workers, friendly staff ... and especially Dr McDuffee and his assistant Tara! They continue to AMAZE us. They are always so friendly and caring! My wife was in for a tooth extraction and, to our surprise, she received a follow-up call, not from an office person but from Dr. McDuffee himself, just to make sure all was well! Best thing I can say about this office is THEY LIE!!!!! I made an appointment specifically to have a tooth fixed that had broken. I made it clear that I wanted it done in one visit. I was told this was no problem. THIS WAS A LIE! I showed up for the appointment. They took exrays, then asked me when I would like to schedule the appointment to have the tooth fixed. I said that this was the appointment to have the tooth fixed. I was told that they never fix a tooth without first having a seperate appointment for exrays and inspection. I told them that I had asked specifically to have this done in one day and was told that it was no problem. I was told that they must have misunderstood my request, that I would have been told differently if they understood what I was wanting. I asked when I made the appointment if they were a 'participating provider' for my insurance company. I was told yes. THAT WAS A LIE! I later recieved a bill for another $85 over the $100 I was originally quoted. When I called to ask about this I was told that they accept my insurance, but that they don't have a 'contract' with them and therefore I was responsible for what they didn't cover. I asked why I had been told then that they were a participating provider (by definition this means they have a contract with them). I was told that she didn't know, maybe they misunderstood my question. So on to my bill. I made payment arrangements with them because I didn't have the full amount available. I was told that as long as my payment was recieved by the due date I would not be charged a late fee. THIS WAS A LIE! My payment was due on the 18th, they recieved it on the 15th. They then charged me a late fee since I didn't pay in full. I called to ask about this. I was told that unless it was paid in full I would be charged a late fee. I asked why I was told that as long as my payments were recieved every 30 days I would not be charged a late fee. I was told they didn't know why someone would tell me that, it was there policy to demand payment in full at the time of service and that she didn't understand why I had been seen without the full payment. I would never recommend this office to anyone unless you like being lied to and gouged. read more

First, I hate going to the dentist. I know everything that I'm doing wrong already -- not brushing enough, not flossing enough, blah, blah, blah. Then, after they have laid some huge guilt trip on you -- they seem to take joy in holding your mouth open wide and directing punishment straight at your teeth. I hated the thought of dentists so much that after college, I avoided them for a decade. I finally figured I needed to pay the piper, so after hearing about Oak Creek from some co-workers, I made an appointment. What a difference a decade and a dentist make. Yes, they encouraged me to take better care of myself -- but they were supportive of my efforts to do better. They fixed me all up (took several visits) and kept me feeling positive. That was 7 years ago. I still hate going to the dentist -- but Oak Creek listens to why I hate it so much (fluoride treatment makes my stomach sick, air on my teeth makes my neck hairs stand up, etc) and takes these into consideration. I now faithfully go twice a year and have no regrets. Here's another thing -- with our company constantly changing dental care providers, there are years where Oak Creek isn't a preferred provider. But never fear! They strive to make sure dental work is as convenient as possible for you. This year was one of those years. I went in and had the work done anyway. Payment? They deferred it until they determined if they could become a preferred provider -- they did and all I was left with was a small deductible. The staff at Oak Creek are professional and caring. They go above and beyond -- especially with those (like me) who are just looking for an excuse to avoid them. read more

Although Oak Creek is good for scared patients their products are not very good! I got a full top plate of dentures and a partial plate. The top plate is horrible. I asked them to remake it and they did but when I went back for the fitting I was bullied into taking the original plate that they had made some adjustments to. The original plate is weak in some areas, doesn't fit correctly even after several adjustments, and the gums are horrible! They stick out in some areas what the dentist laughingly (I didn't think it was funny) referred to as giving me a case of gingivitis. The top plate also fits on one side and just doesn't on the other. I asked to come back long ago to have it adjusted but was informed that it would be an additional cost instead of being covered with the initial cost which by the way is very very high. I can't afford to have the plate remade and I sure can't afford several trips to have it adjusted at heaven knows how much per visit. This isn't my fault and they should be held responsible for poor workmanship. I learned my lesson! For dental work they are great but for dentures...bad choice. I should have gone somewhere else!!! read more

GREAT SERVICE... Pricey, but worth it! I randomly decided to try Oak Creek Dental based on a mailing. I tried them about 5 years ago and have been a loyal patient since! The Team is knowledgeable, friendly, professional and polite. The office is state-of-the-art - to include TVs, wifi access, etc. While they do tend to be more expensive than many other providers, I have rarely had to return to their offices to have a problem re-addressed (which means they get it right the first time). That expense is also off-set by the convenience of email and professional office staff. My recommendation: Go see them! If the pricing for 'majors' scares you off, go get that done somewhere else. But, OCD is an awesome experience! read more

I broke off my entire top front tooth on last Thursday night. With my normal dentist office closed on Friday's and me leaving for a huge business trip on Sunday, I was in full panic mode. Scrambling for options, I called Oak Creek Friday morning. Understanding my situation, they were able to fit me in that morning even though they were completely booked. I went in for a consultation and they began dental work before any discussion of price. Afterwards, they quoted me 4 fillings and at the very next visit told me that those 4 would actually need crowns, which costs almost double the amount. When confronted about this, they stated "the dentist would much rather over-quote first, then charge less later if they discover the procedure is not quite needed". Even after explaining the exact opposite had happened to me, they repeated the same speech like robots. After spending over $3,000 at their establishment, you wouldn't think they'd have the nerve to ask for an additional $30 for a fluoride treatment but they did just that! Their greed knows no bounds! Oak Creek Dental- Dr. McDuffee and his staff are my life line. They have two options to help me. First oral sedation the second IV sedation. Yes, I had to pay for the iv sedation some insurance will cover it. However, if I didn't have them or those option I don't know what I would have done. I was treated with respect and kindness. I didn't feel a thing had two crowns and a too the pulled. I don't even remember the visit. PLEASE GIVE THEM A TRY! If you are fearful of the Dentist this is the place to go. I always wait until my teeth are bothering me because I am afraid of dentists (once one scars you, you kinda are scared for life). I had been suffering from a toothache for 3weeks when I finally said enough is enough. I called, set up an appointment. Once there the staff was VERY friendly, and didn't give me "the cold shoulder" when I expressed my fears. I had Dr. McDuffee. He told me what I needed done now for the pain to stop hurting (1tooth pulled, & 2 deep cavities) didn't pressure me to get other stuff done. They gave me a prescription to take (a setative) for I came back. Once back, I was a little drugged, and they put the IV in me. The next thing I knew it was almost 3hrs later. They also did a teeth cleaning while in there. Walked me out to my car, gave my driver instructions to follow when I got home. I came home and crashed. When I woke up i had a voicemail from the ACTUAL DOCTOR- not an assistant. He explained what he did while I was in "lala" land & told me to call back if I have any questions. I will HIGHLY recommend them! They are not overly priced either...plus free laughing gas! I have found a new dentist, that I WILL be going to like I'm suppose to instead of waiting until I'm in pain. The bad thing about that is that Oak Creek charges some the highest rates for dental procedures in the country. Best dentist I've ever been to! Top quality service, short waiting time, awesome price, and easy to find location! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Firstly, finding Oak Creek Dental was a piece of cake since they have a giant sign by the road. I was incredibly happy I didn't have to squint all over the place trying to see if I could find it. When I arrived I was greeted by friendly staff at the desk, and taken for a tour of the facility, which I thought was pretty cool. My waiting time was definitely shorter than any previous dentist office I've been. After being taken to my "room," the friendly staff explained what all would be done, and answered all of my questions even if they probably seemed ridiculous. It was obvious they cared and wanted to make sure I was comfortable. The service itself felt very thorough and detailed. It was great! They even gave me some numbing mouth wash beforehand because my gums can be sensitive. The price was also cheaper than I'd expected based on my previous experiences with other dentists. I recommend Oak Creek Dental to anyone looking for a dentist, and I will be returning to their office shortly to get some more work done on my teeth! Give them a try - you won't regret it! read more

I am writing this review to hopefully prevent someone else from going thru what I'm experiencing right now. I went to Oak Creek in early August because my bridge that I'd had for many years came off. I was in pain, and was told that a tooth that was underneath my bridge could not be saved and would need to be extracted. I had no option but to get a "flipper" or temporary mouth piece. When I went in to be fitted for it, I was still in agonizing pain. Oops, another tooth under the bridge has to be extracted and they didn't realize that the first day? And, it will cost another $400 to "add a tooth" to your temporary. The temporary did not fit right, and the pain from it was worse than my initial pain, I had infection oozing from my mouth. I had to ask for an antibiotic and pain meds and prepared myself for another extraction. The second temporary piece is worse than the first one. Dr. McDuffer told me it would be a completely different type of partial, but he was not there when i went in for my impressions, and apparently didn't communicate that to anyone else, because it was the exact same thing. except you can compare the 2 and they look like they were made for 2 different people. I have been in pain for a month and a half. I feel like a vice is in my mouth, tightening more every day. I have been in so many times I can't even count, missed so much work, and I'm being treated so rudely, it's ridiculous. If I had the money to go somewhere else, I'd be done. But the temporary is not covered by insurance and $1,000 is a huge expense to me right now. I can't afford to pay that again somewhere else. If you have thousands to spend on dental work, they will treat you ok. But if not, find a different dentist. Btw, my first extraction was a tooth I'd had a root canal on, so it was not the source of my pain. I know they made a mistake then, and now they refuse to fix this mess I'm wearing now. I have never been treated so horribly in my life, I'm in constant pain, and I hope I can prevent someone else from this awful experience. read more
