Horrible, corrupt experience with an incompetent staff. Referred to the office by my insurance for a wisdom tooth extraction last summer. Was charged upfront for the full amount before the appointment began, but when going back and talking to the oral surgeon he decided that there would have been complications with the extraction and it wasn't worth the risk to go forward. Upon checking out, the office staff member explained that the charge would be refunded to my card minus a consultation fee, which was fair and understandable. It took approximately two weeks for the refund to be processed, and every time I called the Parma office for an explanation or at least an update I was always given a new, increasingly convoluted story: "oh, we're waiting for our payment center to process it," "oh, the office manager is at another location today," "oh, your insurance has to approve the refund first." And every time I would call I would get some brand new supposed manager who had no idea what was going on and couldn't put me in touch with anyone who did. Again, this was all over a simple refund that the office itself offered. They certainly didn't take several weeks to *charge* me. I ended up having to contact my bank to investigate it. Finally, about a month later I received the refund as a check in the mail, the amount minus the aforementioned consultation fee. Shorty after, though, I began receiving bills in the mail from the Parma office requesting payment for the full, original amount...for a procedure that never took place, mind you. Again I began calling the Parma location for an explanation, and every time I called there was nobody on staff who could explain it to me. One office staffer had me on the phone while looking up my account and saying, "Yeah, I see the refund. You don't owe us anything." And yet, the bills continued, now with threats of collection. A further call to the office revealed that someone there had created a "second" account under my name that this bill is being categorized under. Whether this person had their wisdom tooth removed, I couldn't say. I proceeded to write to Dental Works' home office in Texas for an explanation, and received no response. I then opened up a dispute through the Better Business Bureau, and Dental Works refused to respond to them. Let me reiterate that: this company refused to respond to a request from the Better Business Bureau. Nobody reached out to me, and now the bill has been sent to a collection agency which has started harassing me, now going on to almost a year as of this review. And once again, this was for a procedure THEY cancelled. Ultimately I don't care that the extraction didn't go through. I interacted with the oral surgeon for maybe ten minutes, so I couldn't begin to critique how well of a job they do professionaly. I have instead spent more time dealing with what I can only describe as a thoroughly incompetent office staff who apparently cannot manage a single patient's account, a staff that cannot answer simple questions about where charges come from and why they regenerated, and a staff that gleefully has no accountability because their corporate headquarters only exist as a rumor. I am in the process of communicating with my insurance about them looking into dropping Dental Works from their list of providers. Nobody should have to deal with such a headache, especially when also suffering from dental issues. read more

Came for a simple extraction was in chair for 1 1/2 hours,as dentist broke pieses of tooth out of my mouth. Half way through Doc gunts a says (I fractured crown next to tooth I am pulling,I'll have to fix that). Now they won't fix it and now uncomfortable and they ignore my complaints. A refund finally posted to my credit card on 2/6/19, and only after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau! The office manager originally promised me in person that I would receive a credit on 1/22/19 but refused to run a credit to my card right then and there. Instead, the office manager gave me a written refund receipt (see attached). What kind of company gives a customer a written refund receipt and refuses to run an immediate credit to a customer's credit card? That's just bad business. read more

I have good insurance, they did scare tactics to do extraction/implant. The hygienist was good. They gave me an estimate that looked ok for hygienist scaling and I agreed to that. When they finished they presented me with a bill that was $400 more than the estimate because they did a non covered laser treatment on my gum tissue that is just an up charge tactic. Look it up on line. I wish I had checked yelp before I went there. I definitely will not let them pull my tooth and I'll have to get another dentist. I have no pain. Another dentist looked at my x-ray and said all I need is a root canal. Never had one before and not looking forward to it, but much better than loosing a tooth. The staff needs to be trained properly on dental insurance benefits as well on dealing with patient cares and concerns . The X-ray tech and office manager let me leave in tears as I didn't have enough money for my so called benefit amount for dental cleaning procedure . I have never felt so humiliating in my life and in front of other employees there . What was supposed to be a normal cleaning turned out to be the worst dental experience of my life. I'm one of those people who are looking for any reason to not see the dentist and I was absolutely blown away with how friendly, professional and courteous everyone was! Whether it was the assistant or the lead Dentist(that did phenomenal work with my cavities and crowns). Everyone was quick and efficient and went above and beyond when they could've easily settled for mediocrity or having me come in another day to complete the things that they said they would do today. They made what would normally be an unpleasant dentists visit "a fun time" as Robin(one of the lead orthodontists) would gleefully say. They didn't excessively push any products on me and even walked me through the process of my cleaning and crowns in an in depth, yet comprehensible way that I've never heard before. Billing was straight forward and as a veteran of the Army with Tri-care, is a very reassuring thing. All in all, they have a client for life and I'll never forget my experience here. read more

Called at 6pm today for a dental emergency they told Me to come in right away and they would take care of it. Talk about amazing customer service!! Everyone was so nice thorough and accommodating to say the least! I highly recommend them for any dental concerns you may have. I'm a regular patient and always refer anyone to dental works! My doctor was dr bina shah. Shes a smart lady. She does only 20% of the work though. Rest 80% is done by the assistant who does not have complete expertise. they hurry up. Not a good sign. Do yourself a favour by skipping this place. read more

DentalWorks was previously located in a Sears store in Middleburg Heights. The service and staff were great back then. Unfortunately, since they've moved to the Parma location, the quality has diminished extremely. It is run like a corporate office, but not always professional with responses. Dr. Bina Shah is great if you can schedule with her. However, the others I'm not so sure about. When I had a recent filling done by someone else, I was not happy with the work and in pain for weeks after. I expressed my discontent and requested a refund. 3 months of calling, leaving voicemails that were never really returned, messages with people at the front desk, and still never a resolution. Most professional businesses aim to please the customer and want to make things right when a person is displeased. After constantly being told messages were sent to the manager to follow-up and then being told the work can be corrected, but no refund because the work was still done, I was really unhappy. The work cannot be fixed if the tooth has been shaved down. A tooth cannot be re-growth. It would have to be re-built with other products. If a person comes in to have work done and doesn't get exactly what was expected, why isn't a refund considered? What is baffling is the lack of any attention to the customer calling in to complain. As a customer, I should not have to call every week or more just to get an update or ask if the manager will ever call back. No follow-up, no resolution. The only highlight is Dr. Shah. The people who work here are an absolute joy. The make you feel so comfortable. They are honest about when it is going to hurt and will num you silly if you need it. Everyone is nice and pleasent and made all the dental work I needed done easy to do even though i was terrified. Best dentist in Parma by far. read more

Doctor Diaz was a good dentist and actually cared about and managed my pain level. But, as for Doctor Gupta (who now also works at this location): my appointment was canceled 3 weeks in a row and I did not find out until I got to the office that it had been canceled EACH TIME. On top of that...when he started my root canal, he yelled at me for screaming and crying in pain. I was screaming so loud that the ENTIRE dentist office heard me. And then at the end, I was STILL in pain even though I had Novocaine in my gums and I'M smart enough to know that if I'm still in pain with the Novocaine, then when it wears off, the pain will be at least 20 times worse. Apparently Doctor Gupta wasn't smart enough to realize that or believe me (even though my screams sounded like I was being murdered...my mom heard me loud and clear in the waiting room), because he told me that 200 mg Ibuprofen would suffice for my pain level. On the way home, I had to stop at the Emergency room because I was screaming and crying in pain. I've taken Ibuprofen many times before and let me just say: when I feel like I'm being stabbed to death, Ibuprofen doesn't help any! This was the most pain that I have ever experienced in my life and Doctor Gupta did not care at all. He just wanted to make money. He had absolutely no empathy and he is the worst medical "professional" that I have dealt with in my entire life. Do your best to not have to have him as your dentist. Silly me to think that a $900 procedure should also come with pain management and empathy. read more

Had an unexpected opening in my schedule, called at 2:30, they said to come in at 3:30. At 4pm i still hadnt been seen and they said it would be at least another 15 minutes. I left with my paperwork. Was there a sudden influx of emergency cases between 2:30 and 3:30?!? Of course not......doctors just think their time is more valuable than their patients. If the dentists are as good as their front desk, youll come out all gums. read more

i have been going to dental works for almost 20 years the one at southland which closed in 2016. i set up an appointment in 2017 for the parma heights location i was impressed with the place they had up to date equipment very nice place. i went in and was told i had a copay which i never did in the past but i paid it thought maybe it was change this year. then was billed an $91.00 was told by them that the insurance didn't cover all of it. i paid it because i didn't want my credit messed up and though i would work it out after. big mistake have been waiting for 4 months to get the payment back they show no receipt of the copay that i paid. i will not be returning to his place. read more
