However, I'm extremely disappointed by the recent change in their payment policy. Patients are now required to pay the full cost upfront (in my case, nearly $300 for a routine cleaning) and HOPE that insurance reimburses them weeks later. I cannot imagine what this would cost for a family bringing in multiple children for a routine cleaning on one day, easily over $1,000 required up front!!! Let alone any other more expensive procedure. As a direct result, I cannot continue care under this policy. I understand the office has implemented this due to past unpaid bills by other clients, but it is absolutely unfair to penalize responsible patients for others' shortcomings. I have already found a new practice that accepts insurance directly.

We came right before her xmas break and was more than pleased. This place is extremely kid-friendly and high tech. The staff was in the holiday spirit and were dressed up with crazy xmas sweaters and pajamas on. This place is a breath of fresh air. The staff was great and my daughter was at ease. Papandreas has numerous incentive programs that encourages good oral hygiene. They offer convenient options if your child needs an adjustment by coming to your child's school for a quick touch up if needed. It is obvious the staff cares and the money that the client spends on braces or other services is put back into their business. We're talking state of the art equipment and even iPads to entertain the kids while they're waiting. The orthodontist was amazing and answered any and all questions we had. The staff also made sure we left feeling completely satisfied with our decision and made sure we left with all of our questions and concerns fully addressed. I've never felt so welcome at an orthodontist's office before, much better than the place I went to when I was a kid. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place and if you are considering braces for your child or yourself, check it out. My daughter is looking forward to her next appointment so she can choose a new set of colorful bands to go on her braces. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next time. Before making an appointment with papandreas Orthodontics, I called specifically to ask if they accepted my Humana insurance. The woman on the phone told me, very cheerfully, that yes, they accepted it. I trusted what I was told and made the appointment. I then drove TWO HOURS to get there. When I finally arrived, I couldn't even easily find the office because the building is incredibly crowded and confusing, with nail salons, restaurants, and multiple businesses all around the same area. After finally finding the orthodontist, I was given paperwork to fill out. While I was filling it out, the same woman I had spoken to on the phone looked at my insurance card and suddenly said, "Oh, this is Humana. We don't take that here." Excuse me?! I literally called beforehand and specifically asked if you accepted Humana. I even asked her if she was the person I had spoken to on the phone, and she said yes. I reminded her that I had asked about my insurance before driving all the way there, and she basically told me that she thought they accepted it. That is absolutely ridiculous. Why tell someone you accept their insurance when you don't? If there was any uncertainty about my insurance, I should have been told that BEFORE I made the appointment and drove two hours. I wasted four hours of driving time round trip, plus gas, because I was given incorrect information over the phone. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating, and I definitely would not recommend this office based on how my situation was handled. Please double-check your insurance before making the trip, because apparently being told over the phone that they accept it isn't enough.

Do not send your child here. I was a patient 15 years ago and at the ripe age of 12, I knew this…read morewas more of a business than a practice that cared about you. I remember there were about 6 chairs and everyone rotated in and out like some impersonal assembly line. My teeth were very spaced out, and the doctors told my parents and I that they would close the space and fortunately, I had room for wisdom teeth that would help further close the space years later. I don't have wisdom teeth. That should have shown up on the x-ray, but perhaps they were too busy getting everyone in and out to notice they probably picked up the wrong person's x-ray. It was never corrected. I found out 6 years later from my dentist, braces were off and still some unattractive space between my teeth, what they had been telling me all along was a mistake. I practice good oral hygiene and only have one cavity. The cavity is in the shape of the band that was around my tooth when I had braces. The orthodontists should have seen that there was a gap between the band and tooth, but they never paid attention. If they had seen it, I would not have a cavity. I know at least one other woman who went here as a child and has experienced this same incident. Recently, I discovered that I have to get a soft tissue graft on my lower bottom gums because of my braces. My teeth moved too much when I had braces and upset my gums and now they are receding. I'm not 100% sure if this incident is directly related to their practice but based on other experiences, I'm not ruling it out. Be patient with your research and find the best care for your child. If you received a recommendation from a friend to send your child here, that may seem like a good idea in the present, but I suspect there are many past patients who are still dealing with problems caused from years ago. This practice is not worth anyone's dime.

We visited a few orthodontists before deciding to take our children to them and believe me, the decision was not hard to make. We found the doctors (a) extremely knowledgeable, (b) experienced (thousands of patients have been helped), (c) personable, and (d) patient with our children and with us, especially since we ask a lot of questions. We have since recommended a number of our friends and relatives to their practice and every one of them has thanked us. You will be very impressed with the level of orthodontic care and their wonderful personalities.
