I have never left a negative review before, and yet not only did I leave this one on Google, but I made a Yelp account to review here, as well, because people deserve to know what the proprietors are like when they aren't serving champagne and getting in their customer's good graces. I recommend reading other negative reviews. Ours wasn't nearly as bad as some others. Earlier today (03/27/2026, around 4:30) my friend and I visited Dentelle. We were first met by a woman who politely greeted us from her seated position as she worked on attaching a corset piece to a hanger (this becomes only slightly relevant later). We proceeded to admire the selection, slowly making our way around the store and quietly commenting to each other here and there. Not long after, one of the owners--Paul, as I hear it--walked in, and rather than greet us, the first thing he did was treat my childhood friend like an idiot. It started benignly enough. At the time, she had been looking at a sheer purple top and told me how much she loved it. Paul commented that it "matches with the one* next to it". (*A purple bra in the same shade, of which there were no other matching pieces.) I looked over my shoulder at this, and after she politely and cheerfully agreed that she noticed that, he walked up behind her and added, "They're the same color". I could tell he was just trying to make a sale, but by that point I was already blown away by his audacity. I could tell my friend was, too, but she humored him and simply said that they were lovely together and she wished she could, but her bank account wouldn't be happy about it. In a way I can't possibly articulate through text, he asked her, "Well, what's stopping you?" She had basically just told him, but all the same she then plainly said that she couldn't afford both. He then took a few steps back and began quipping at her every minute or less that we were there, even after my wife joined us. The woman behind the desk spent this time pretending to look busy with the same single piece of lingerie. She was unfolding and refolding it, clipping and unclipping it to its hanger, until finally we drifted over to the shop's right hand wall and she pushed past us. (See, not very relevant, other than her complicity in the situation and generally giving a bad impression regarding customer service and work ethic, as well as the owners' values. They get paid how much to do this, but treat customers they deem "too poor" like garbage? Okay.) My friend made her way there first, and Paul laughed at her and told her that she didn't need to "even bother going over there" if she "couldn't even afford the other stuff. This is the really good stuff." I moved to join my friend, and we both looked, regardless. Annoyed, I began to tune him out, until my friend told him that her sugardaddy was in Vegas. He paused, then told her to call him right then. She declined, and we walked out. I'm really sanitizing this experience in my retelling, but it was outrageous that he, in no uncertain terms, made it VERY clear that my friend was not welcome. I was largely ignored, and I suspect that it was because of how I dressed, looked, and sounded. Needless to say, any interest in this shop is long gone. Steer clear if you value people who value others and their time--because all Paul seems to care for is how much money you can put into his bank account. To the owners, since I've seen a pattern in your replies: I am not interested in having our experience being refuted or gaslit. I am not even interested in insincere apologies, though I've seen nothing of the like so far to anyone else who has suffered similar treatment. Do not bother replying. read more

The owner is very rude and pretentious. He chose to be immediately rude to my daughter and myself as apposed to treat us with respect.

The man who works at this store was so rude to us and he sat on his little bench as he greeted us with extreme rudeness. He claimed every piece of the pajamas/lingerie is VERY EXPENSIVE and "specially curated by him and his wife" The whole experience was trying to gaslight you into the fact you are not worth it to him and if you want to prove your worth you need to buy his stupid pajamas. He claimed I cannot touch the "pieces" so roughly because they are special. I have been to plenty designer stores in which no one has ever greeted me with such rudeness. F THIS PLACE. The man working here was so incredibly rude I don't even know how to put into words how off putting our experience was in this store. My friend was simply trying to browse through the clothing items when she was verbally accosted by the man working here yelling at her to not touch anything. It was the most degrading and rude experience any of us have ever had before. He also was on the phone when we walked in and complained to the other person on the line that "too many groups keep coming in, I need to call security." We will NOT be returning and we do not recommend that any other woman frequent this business. Stores of this nature need to be safe spaces for women and I could not imagine a place feeling less safe than this. read more

He proceeded to ask "are you guys also from San Jose?" We are not, but unsure why that's relevant. Wonderful first experience for my daughter to establish a foundational knowledge & start her journey of properly fitted undergarments! The assistance with identifying what works best for a myriad of situations & selecting the correct style, size, color, & fit. The store clerk and his wife called me poor to my face and asked me why I was there directly after showing me multiple pieces that I could very much afford but were just not what I was looking for(my budget was $150 and they have many pieces between $20-$140). They tried to bribe me into giving them free access to my work in exchange for lingerie and then asked me to leave them a good review to make up for the recent one stars they've received. Its apparent that while they offer pieces within a $150 budget, they don't respect you unless you want to spend at least $600 on a bra that you could easily find for $30 at victoria's secret. These people do not respect the working class, they just sit on their butts behind a desk and make fun of "poor" people. I'm a young girl working in manual labor and going to school full time; the fact that I can even afford to splurge on lingerie should tell you I'm doing pretty well for myself. They decided to hurt my feelings with basless insults because I didn't like their stock and I hope their business hurts because of it. I have enough money to be kind and educated and that's all I need. I hope you both see this and choose kindess next time. I visited the store on Dec 13th around 12PM, if they want to threaten pulling up security footage because appraently all the recent bad reviews are lying. Its clear the reviews are truthful and they were just trying to save their own faces because they are blatently rude and disrespectful to customers that don't find what they're looking for. I have never felt the need to write reviews as all the places I frequent tend will have the average level of customer service, although not here, thus this is my first review. The level of rudeness and judgment that comes from employees and the owner as well. I was treated horribly and told to get out due to profiling. I then went to write about my experience on google and was met with rudeness and hostility by the owner, Katya, but it seems like it is a common occurrence to respond to a negative review in a condensending manner in attempts to discredits one's review but upon seeing other negative reviews on here, and her responses it seems as if there is no growth on her part. My friend and I decided to stop by Dentelle (8/2/2024) just to see what they had to offer. And before owner tries to respond saying it's a different store, no. It was Dentelle Lingerie right next to the Nut Hut on Mission St & 7th Ave. We started browsing and WE greeted man working who was seated at chair in the middle of the store on his phone. He soon asked us if we needed any help but we said we were just browsing which he didn't seem to fond of as our response. As we kept looking around we decided to walk to the other side of the room to see what robes were available and lingerie. As I am looking through the robes the man working abruptly interrupts us as he is seated and says "to stop rummaging through the clothes as the pieces are very expensive" to which I cut him off and say I am not rummaging through them and to our suprise he tells us both to get out immediately! Both flabbergasted, we start walking out and I gave him a nice choice of words (F bomb) to which he gave a sarcastic response to. Once we got outside he had followed to go and laugh with i'm assuming it was the maintenance man who was working outside. When I look back he is laughing and I decide to flip him off and he responds very loudly "ohhh that hurts me so much!" So disappointing and disrespectful. Definitely would not recommend shopping here!! Owner needs to do better with picking workers as he escalated a situation that didn't need to happen. I'm not sure if he thought my friend and I were not trying to buy anything or if he thought we looked too young, regardless completely unacceptable! read more

I went on a last minute trip back home to Carmel and upon arrival I realized I hadn't packed a single bra aside from my sports bras. This simply wouldn't work with a white blouse. I walked in, said what my needs were and my size, and within minutes she had a room full of perfect fitting bras. Clearly she's excellent at what she does and listens carefully, because she totally "nailed it". Had I needed more, I would have stocked up! If you're a specialty size like me (34 DDD), this is the place for you. Don't even bother with the lack of quality you'll find at the mall. Dentelle Fine Lingerie is a beautiful boutique with gorgeous high end lingerie! Some of my favorite nightgowns have come from here and I'm so satisfied with the quality and that they still feel like new even after a couple years! Katya is so helpful always helping me find the right bra size and helping me find pieces that make me feel good because I go up and down with my weight. She's so professional and it's nice to have someone belong who makes sure you feel comfortable. I'd also like to say how fun it was to make a registry here before my bridal shower! She helped with having a list of my favorites and made it easy for my family members who are t from here to even purchase things I like over the phone. Never in my life have I felt so uncomfortable in a store. A few months ago I went in to see if they had any bodysuits and was immediately greeted with a dark glare, not even a simple hello. I started to walk around and to see if I could find any (had not touched a single item yet) and the woman rushed over to me and peeked into my Anthropology bag. I took that as an opportunity to ask if she had any bodysuits. She quickly said "no, we don't care any." And continued to stare at my bag. I stepped away and towards a bra that peaked my interest and she followed me not saying a word. I then pointed out bodysuits hanging next to me and asked if they came in sizes or one size only. She responded "they fit almost everyone," and walked back to the counter. By this point I was over being glared at, followed, not helped, and watched. BUT my eyes got drawn towards a flat-lay of thongs. When I went to go touch them the woman came and took them from me so I couldn't even look at them. I was so frustrated and insulted at the lack of help and rudeness I just left. I came back a few weeks ago just out of boredom, but also to see if they are still around, and out of my amazement they are. Same bad customer service: lack of help, rude, and treating me like I'm going to steal, not letting me touch anything or try on and if I do it will be immediately taken from my hands. IN RESPONSE TO OWNER BELOW: please do not insult my intelligence. I know exactly where I was as I am a local. I frequent the courtyard you are located in at least once a month. I stand by my experiences and what I have said. I know I am not alone in how I was treated as my friends have had similar experiences with you in your store. read more

I cannot recommend shopping with Dentelle enough! As a tourist I ventured into this little shop to browse and the owner was engaging and interested in my needs. She has a beautiful selection with every size imaginable which was a relief to someone who is larger busted and is often limited to selection in most department stores. They are also fit experts and were able to find my perfect size. I desperately struggle with a proper swim suit fit and she was able to put me in a gorgeous bikini for the first time in my life. In addition, I have been able to have items mailed to me each season and the owner is wonderful about checking in with me to see if I need anything! So, I am not a "Yelper" and generally rely on word of mouth, but since I do not live in the area and my experience was so memorable, I thought it warranted my time in writing a review. Long story short, I had liposuction go "wrong" and I got depressed, gained weight and my husband lost interest and left me. I recently lost the weight and felt good about myself for the 1st time in years and treated myself to some expensive lingerie. My visit to this store set me back months. The owner fitted me - but nothing seemed to fit right. She got frustrated and said the "expensive European lines" just don't fit "my body type." Maybe she was right but she made me feel fat and ugly and most of all embarrassed. I politely told her I wanted to go try on other brands but that only annoyed her even more. She said there were no other lingerie stores in the area and i would never find anything that fit. I'm certainly not a size 4 but not obese! I am Glad some people had a good experience here but I'd like the owner to know how incredibly worthless she made me feel and her looks, sighs and comments were very hurtful. I've been through a lot and get get let this too, but please keep me in mind when you are looking for a lingerie store. I am a good person and feel I deserved a little respect and understanding. Regarding owners reply to me : I did not purchase anything from your store so you would not have any record of me. I noticed that your "standard" response to poor reviews is suggesting people visited the wrong store. I took the time to give you honest feedback and although I did not expect a response, I would at least believe I deserve anything other than your standard " you just be mistaken" reply. You embarrassed me. And more importantly, you were wrong. "Expensive European brands" do fit me. I just needed someone with the experience to do so. I wish you luck in your future endeavors. Until Katya fitted my girl we never knew how poorly informed and misled we'd been by the "BIG PINK" chain, it was very sad, what we thought looked great and fit correctly actually didnt fit, look or wear properly and when those garments became uncomfortable and worn sooner than they should have, now we know why, THEY DIDNT FIT and its cheap quality stuff!!
