The second was one I truly liked and saw until I relocated to Tennessee. I've been here for nearly four years but hesitated to find a new dentist because I knew I needed significant work done. The last quote I received (in California) was roughly the price of a new car! Currently between jobs and transitioning careers, I knew I had to address my dental issues before any interviews--first impressions matter! A family member recommended Spring Hill Smiles, so I decided to give them a try. I visited their website on my iPhone yesterday and filled out the initial information. I appreciated how modern, user-friendly, and easy to navigate it was--unlike some other local practices that feel stuck in the past when it comes to online communication. Less than 30 minutes later, Spring Hill Smiles reached out, and I was able to book an appointment for the very next day. I was impressed by their quick response and efficiency. The office is conveniently located in Spring Hill on Port Royal Road, just over 5 miles from my home. I arrived on time this morning and was warmly greeted by Katie and Ashley Z at the front desk. Their friendly demeanor and eagerness to help made it clear they enjoy their work. I'd already completed the New Patient Form online via my iPhone, so there was no long wait before hygienist Tanonni brought me back. Tanonni was welcoming, genuinely interested in my background and where I'm from, and very professional. She clearly explained the day's procedures and what Dr. Jordan would be handling. I was particularly impressed by the practice's cutting-edge technology. Their thorough X-rays and photographs were detailed while still respecting patient privacy. When I met Dr. Jordan Erwin, she presented several clear options tailored to my needs. She even reminded me of my good friend Amy Gottlieb, a Christian singer and musician--not just in appearance, but in their similar slight accents. I immediately felt a connection and was confident in her expertise and recommendations. I wasn't expecting California-level pricing, but the costs here were surprisingly affordable--far lower than I'd feared. Cost has been the main reason I've put off dental care for so long, and now I regret not coming sooner! We created a solid plan to address my dental needs, agreed on a manageable payment plan, I joined as a member, signed up for their maintenance program, and scheduled my next appointment for next week. Everything moved so smoothly--truly amazing. From Dr. Jordan Erwin to hygienist Tanonni Garner, and the welcoming team at the front desk (Katie and Ashley Z), the courtesy, professionalism, knowledge, and genuine kindness throughout the practice have won me over. I'll be returning for years to come and highly recommend Spring Hill Smiles to anyone seeking exceptional dental care!

When I arrived, I checked in and was called back for X-rays of my lower left molar (#18). The hygienist even began cleaning my teeth. After nearly finishing the lower teeth, she suddenly asked me how to spell my last name, then left the room. A few minutes later, the office manager came in and apologized, explaining that they had mistakenly checked me in as another patient named Susan. I was asked to go back to the lobby so they could restart my appointment as a new patient. This was concerning, especially considering they had already begun treatment under the wrong patient's information. Once my appointment restarted, I had to undergo another full set of X-rays and panoramic images. Before the X-rays, I explained that I have a very sensitive gag reflex and that taking dental X-rays is difficult for me. Instead of showing understanding, the dentist told me that it was "all in my mind" and that I needed to "channel that to another part of my body." I found that comment dismissive and lacking compassion. I had even brought salt with me because it helps reduce my gag reflex during dental procedures, but it still took several attempts to complete the X-rays. After the examination, I was told I needed a root canal on tooth #18 along with a full deep scaling and root planing before they would perform the root canal. The total treatment plan was approximately $6,000. When I asked if I could simply have the root canal first to get out of pain and address the cleaning later, I was told no. Because of the cost and my uncertainty, I sought a second opinion. I went to Dentistry of Port Royal, where I was treated with kindness, respect, and genuine care. Their priority was helping me get out of pain and making sure I fully understood my options. They referred me to an endodontist for further evaluation. The endodontist performed extensive imaging and determined that the tooth was not salvageable and there was NO infection as the Aspen Dental told me there was an abscess. I was informed that a root canal would not be successful because the tooth needed to be extracted and eventually replaced with an implant. That evaluation helped me clearly understand the condition of my tooth and the appropriate treatment moving forward, while also preventing me from paying for a root canal that would not have solved the problem. I'm grateful I sought another opinion before moving forward with the original treatment plan. My experience at Dentistry of Port Royal was the complete opposite of what I experienced at Aspen Dental of Spring Hill, TN. I felt heard, respected, and cared for every step of the way. Every patient deserves compassionate care, accurate diagnosis, and confidence that recommended treatment is truly in their best interest. Based on my experience, I would encourage others to seek a second opinion before committing to extensive dental work at Aspen Dental. I will say the office manager was very loving and respectful! I noticed she had the cross in her office which made me believe she was a believer and she was very caring! I believe she wants to truly help others.

After the x-rays, which took 30 more minutes, they told the boss my daughter needed to return for a DEEP cleaning due to a condition. This deep cleaning also cost extra money, which was paid in advance. Due to an illness they canceled the appointment the day of. I scheduled an appointment with another dentist and learned that my daughter did not have the condition that required a SPECIAL cleaning. They tried to scam us out of $80. Horrible. Just horrible. I will not return. They did refund the money for the SPECIAL exam.

He really stressed urgency, and that my son's four teeth may die before we get him into surgery. He kept saying there was nothing he could do, except major surgery under general anesthesia. I left devastated. I was in a panic all day, frantically calling other dental surgeons to try and get on their waiting list for surgery just in case we can be seen sooner elsewhere. I connected with a practice in Columbia which he had recommended and they saw my son that day. After an in depth examination including x rays (which Dr Knoell did not suggest or recommend at any point!!) the dentist at this practice concluded that my son has no cavities at all, and instead has staining from an iron multivitamin he takes daily. I actually sobbed with relief. It is egregious that Dr. Knoell would neglect to confirm whether or not my son actually had cavities or truly a need for significant dental surgery requiring IV sedation. He was so quick to recommend the surgery and stress the urgency, but then also said he had no idea if he would get him in before the teeth die. This is gross negligence on his part. I will not be returning to this office and will certainly never recommend it. I would hate for other families to be pressured into unnecessary surgery on their small children purely because this man has financial stake in a new surgery center. ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!

Originally I thought the reviews of this office reflected it's current state, however, the reviews…read moreare years old and do not accurately describe this office today. I dont like to write reviews like this but I am so floored about my interaction with this office I feel I need to warn other moms. I have 3 children that I have taken to be seen here... 2 of them had dental procedures and 1 had just cleanings. The care my youngest daughter received was traumatic to say the least. 2 different procedures and they both ended with infections and we had to seek emergency treatment elsewhere. My daughter had to have a spacer put in due to a tooth being pulled early (not from this office) and weeks after the metal spacer was put in, her gums were inflamed and bleeding. I brought her back to ask if maybe the spacer was put too far into her gums and I was told by the dentist no, she needed to brush better. 2 weeks after that we had to bring her back in and I had to insist that the spacer be removed because you could no longer see it due to her gums being so swollen. The Dr offered no apology, but instead seemed insulted that was pushing for the removal of the spacer. The second issue with my same 6 year old daughter was a filling that was done in their office. They suggested a metal crown should be used to prevent further cavities which we agreed. However, the original cavity was not fully removed before the crown was put on and a few months later my daughter was crying from pain when she was eating and saying there was liquid coming out of her tooth when she chewed... I took her to another office for an evaluation and she had an infection in her tooth so bad that they had to pull it because the cavity had rotted her tooth under the crown!! After all of this, the billing department ran the wrong insurance (an old card on file) and when I asked if they could please submit using the new plan, they said they would, but I could never get anyone to follow back up with me to let me know it was completed. My new plan had better coverage. I then received notices (via text only from a robo number) saying that I had an outstanding balance after I paid over $700 for one appointment for ONE child (WITH INSURANCE)... I called the office to ask what the outstanding balance was and was told it was $46,which I paid. Then a week later I get a notice from debt collection for a balance over $250!! I have NEVER paid so much for dental work for my kids WITH insurance in my life. When I called to ask the office about this charge, (from almost a year ago) the woman in billing was incredibly rude and condescending. As I was finishing my questions she literally talked over me for so long that I had to yell "excuse me!" so I could get my question out. She was very defensive and agressive with me and I can assure you I was not putting her in a position of defense. I was calmly asking for clarification on my balance. The only saving grace of this office is the sweet dental tech who takes the kids X-rays. She is amazing and I loved her. Bottom line - the treatment seemed good, but that proved false as time went on and everyone of authority in this office seems to have a problem being questioned by the very people they are supposed to be serving. I wish I never stepped foot in this office.
