Hi. I was just there and was scheduled for two teeth to be taken out. I was scheduled to do it with the Oral Surgeon because of a past experience I had that was quite traumatic. Anyways, I spoke to the Oral Surgeons Assistant and I only requested that I do not use laughing gas or Versed (Phyc drug that is a forgetter drug). She then said, "Okay". Took note of it and we were on our way to see the Oral Surgeon who absolutely just kept pushing me to take Versed. It was very embarrassing on her part from my perspective and I do not like when I'm being intensely pushed to take a drug I have no interest in taking. I had originally given this office five stars until I had two negative interactions with Brittany, the office manager. Brittany messed up my dental plan payments and refuses to take responsibility for it. As I was trying to discuss the issue with her, she was extremely rude and disrespectful to the point of being nasty. She also contradicted herself several times throughout our conversation, due to the fact that she is unable to own up to her own mistake, which has cost me extra fees. Dr. Reid is great and I hesitate posting this because of him. I hope he will find a new office manager soon who knows not only how to do her job, but how to speak professionally and treat people with respect. read more

Poor customer service by office manager Cory. Attempted to make a new patient appointment. After providing all insurance info, address and even social security number. I explained I just wanted to talk to dentist, receive an exam and cleaning. Cory claimed it was required to receive X-rays prior to ANY type of treatment. I again stated I would like to wait on X-rays until I was seen by the provider. Cory again insisted X-rays would be needed and I wouldn't be able to be seen by anyone until after X-rays. I stated this was an interesting way to deal with a prospective patient. Cory then hung up on me... I called back to find out if I could speak to the office manger and find out I had been speaking to him. read more

I received a crown last year the 2nd day after it was seated it came off , I went back in a total of 6 times because it kept coming off . Here we are a year later and they want me to re do the whole thing but won't call me back to schedule the 3.5 hour appointment ! So far I have spent hours upon hours in their chair only to have a faulty product in my mouth ! I've contacted the corporate offices 3 times in the last two weeks and I have had no response ! Come to find out my friend had a crown their and the same thing happened , she ended up paying another dentist to redo it all, just recently my husbands crown from their came off ! Never in my life in 40 years have I had a crown come off let alone multiple times . If I don't receive my refund or a call I will be filing a lawsuit against the company for service not rendered ! read more

Really wish I would have read the reviews on this place first. I can attest that they are spot on. I, too, was told that I needed several root canals on my teeth and that I had pretty severe periodontal disease. I actually had two root canals performed and a root scaling and planing here after Dr. Kerbaugh insisted that it was necessary. Recently, I returned to Spring Hill Modern Dentistry because a tooth had been causing me severe pain. I went to see Dr. Ceonna Parran who took over for Dr. Kerbaugh and she told me that the x-rays revealed that I had an abscess developing and that I would need a bridge with two crowns and a bone graft. She also tried to get me scheduled for expensive periomaintenance appointments after brutally poking at my gums calling out random numbers. From the jump, it sounded like I was being hustled into an expensive procedure and I wasn't convinced that it was needed in the first place. Either way, I had to leave town for work and couldn't undergo a major surgery until the following week so I asked for antibiotics to treat the infection until I could have the tooth worked on when I returned from out of town. To my shock, Dr. Parran REFUSED to give me antibiotics, even though she told me I had an abscess forming! At that point it was clear that she was trying to leverage my pain and the news that I had an infection (that could turn septic) to get me to commit to procedures that would cost several thousand dollars out of pocket. The following day I went to get a second opinion from another dentist and found out that I did not need a bridge at all! That the tooth could be saved and I may not even need a root canal! And even if I chose to simply pull the tooth, he laughed and shook his head at the thought of me needing a bone graft along with the extraction--which is something Dr. Parran was adamant about. To top it off, he said that I DID NOT HAVE PERIODONTAL DISEASE! And that my bone structure was healthy! He immediately called in a prescription for the MINOR infection and quoted me a super reasonable price to fix my tooth the following week, even allowing me to pay in installments. In summary, the reviews you see here are unfortunately true. This place is all about telling people they need root canals and have periodontal disease because they are trying to charge for the most expensive procedures. It's one big hustle. Even though the staff will treat you with the utmost kindness, the goal remains to get you to spend the highest amount possible and in many cases, as in my own, the treatment is unnecessary. It's shameful, it's unethical, and it should certainly run afoul of licensing requirements. read more

A small portion of one of my teeth broke off. The dentist said I needed a root canal and a crown. I asked her why I needed both and she immediately backed off and said I only needed the crown. I should have walked out at that point but my tooth really hurt and I wanted it fixed that day as opposed to going through the scheduling process all over again with another dentist. They told me they could create and install the crown that day in about an hour. I then waited several hours while they did various things. In the end they said their machine was broken so they gave me a temporary crown and scheduled me to come in 3 weeks later to put the real crown on. I spent a total of 4.5 hours in the office and still didn't get it fixed. read more

So totally randomly and without warning I had a tooth break and I was already associated with the modern dentistry office and they were open for emergencies during the coronavirus, so they were able to see me the next day. Of course just like any visit to the dentist it's always worse than it appears and I ended up needing to have a root canal and a crown put on, and that entire process was all done in the office over a two weeks. and was great. I know using the word great for a root canal is not exactly normal but this being my first one I had no point of reference except horror stories from my friends, but this was not that it was nice it was professional and they made sure I was comfortable, and at the end of the day my new crown/tooth looks just like the other one. I'm giving this review a four-star instead of a five because of the errors that occurred during the financial side of this transaction. I was offered financing and to get a quote on this financing through something called smile direct they took my information to let me know how much a payment would be. What they did not tell me is that they actually signed me up for a credit card which I received a week later and immediately canceled. I was also inadvertently overcharged $220 which was not refunded right away, it was only refunded once I had my final visit. All in all still a great dentist just make sure you stay on top of the billing and what they sign you up for. read more

This will be a long review, but I encourage you to read it if you would like to save some money and maybe some teeth. I had not been to a dentist in over 3 years when I made an appointment at Spring Hill Modern Dentistry after receiving a flyer in the mail about their $59 new patient X-rays, cleaning, and exam. I needed a cleaning, and I had a sensitive tooth I needed looked at. I made it clear I was VERY anxious to be there, and the people at Spring Hill Modern Dentistry took full advantage of that. Dr Abby Kerbaugh was my dentist that day. Although she was perfectly nice, she had no interest in my dental history (a history that includes chronic teeth grinding and braces--twice!). After a short examination and X-rays, Dr Kerbaugh told me I had such terrible gingivitis that my jaw would begin to decay if I did not receive a "deep cleaning" that I would need to be numbed for and a laser treatment. She also said I needed a root canal on my sensitive tooth, even though there were NO SIGNS of lesions or inflammation of the nerve on that tooth in the X-rays. I have an amalgam filling on that tooth that is over 10 years old, yet she insisted that had nothing to do with my sensitivity. She said we needed to begin the first steps of the root canal--taking out my filling, injecting medicine into the tooth, and applying a temporary crown--RIGHT THEN AND THERE, and come back in 2 weeks for the actual root canal procedure. When the office manager was brought back to discuss financing with my husband and me, she could tell we were uncomfortable with the multi-thousand dollar total. She said I didn't HAVE to receive the deep cleaning and laser treatment on my gums that day. I "could come back in 6 months or a year" and it wouldn't negatively affect my mouth. Don't you think it's odd to receive advice like that from an OFFICE MANAGER? I was just told by the dentist that my jaw was about to decay if I didn't receive that treatment ASAP! I came incredibly close to letting Dr Kerbaugh begin the first step of the root canal before realizing this was all wrong. My husband and I left, letting them know this all seemed extremely suspicious, and we were not charged a dime. I quickly sought a second opinion that same week, and it turns out I neither have gingivitis NOR do I need a root canal!!!! This place is nothing but a scam, and I am ashamed of myself for coming so close to letting them do an unnecessary and EXPENSIVE procedure on me. PLEASE seek treatment elsewhere. They will prey on your fears and anxieties. Fear mongering is their favorite tactic!! Some other things to note: -I did not receive a teeth cleaning. -They have very advanced technology in their facility, yet when I asked for my X-rays to be emailed to me, they were extremely low quality. It is impossible to see details on them. My husband and I also had to call a total of 3 times to get the X-rays emailed to me. -Everything the dentist told me seemed to be memorized. She never stopped to think about what she was saying. When I asked her to explain everything to my husband, she used the exact same verbiage. It was extremely odd! Almost like she tells all of her patients they need a deep clean, laser treatment, and root canal... Again, I urge you to find another dental treatment facility. You may be drawn in by the $59 deal, but I can guarantee you will end up with a bill ten times that amount if you listen to what the dentist says is wrong with you. read more

PATIENTS BEWARE! I am an RN/Paramedic and worked in emergency medicine for over 25 years. I moved to TN one year ago, have always attended my 6-month cleanings, and completed Invisalign in IL. I had no problems, no complications, and no symptoms. My Dentist in IL was an instructor at the dental college and always had top reviews and gave my teeth a clean bill of health. These are 2 accounts with Dr. Abby Kerbaugh at Spring Hill Modern Dentistry in Springhill, TN. 1st cleaning - X-rays were done and Periodontal Charting was performed. I was told that I required deep scale cleaning and the cost was over $1000 (after insurance). I felt as if Dr. Abby Kerbaugh was using a high-pressure sales pitch. She asked the office manager to review payment options with me to have the expensive deep cleaning/scaling procedure. The office manager came in and sequestered me for up to 45 minutes this time explaining the payment plan options before they would perform the cleaning/polishing. The doctor later returned began pressuring me again about the deep cleaning and scaling and I politely explained that I have been informed and understand what she had explained and that I will accept the risks as they have explained them to me and will decline the elective procedure at this time. I reminded her that I do not have any symptoms whatsoever. 2nd incident on June 25, 2020. More X-Rays were done again. They performed the gum line charting again this time in probably under 2 minutes and seemed intentionally quick. Dr. Abby Kerbaugh came in and asked me about any pain or symptoms and I stated I am not having any pain or symptoms. Then, she began with a similar script as before to tell me about the need to have my tooth root canal done and the deep cleaning and scaling. I was firm and clear and said I appreciate your concern. I understand the risks as you have explained to them, but I am not approving to have an elective procedure at this time unless you tell me the procedure is medically necessary. If so I will have it done if 1) she accepts the insurance pay assignment and that any costs beyond that are discounted substantially. Her response was I will have the office manager come in an go over the fees. My reply was that as long as I am asymptomatic, I did not want to have an expensive elective procedure performed and that the option of having multiple payments plan would not work for me. I did not want the procedure. She then said to me that if I am unwilling to have the deep scaling and the root canal done, "I will not perform the cleaning and polishing because my license would be at risk of negligence." Since then I looked to see their reviews and found there were other similar allegations. I also found a new dentist and never mentioned anything about my experience so that I can truly have an objective assessment and opinion. The new dentist said my gums were very healthy and like that of a 20 y/o. This one person at Springhill Modern Dentistry appears to be concerned with making money, not making you smile. BEST DENTIST EVER!!! There aren't enough words for the super hero that is Dr. Abby Kerbaugh! With little sleep, an enormous amount of pain, and nerves worked to the max I apprehensively walked through their doors and I was greeted by the sweetest, most thoughtful ladies who immediately eased my fears. The Dr. herself brought me back to a private room to simply chat about my expectations and get to know me. Her first priority was to make sure I was numb and comfortable before she even began her exam and made sure I was ok all throughout with genuine concern. She has the most incredible demeanor but her patience and attention to detail are beyond impressive. She genuinely cares how you feel a she truly wants to help you!!! I waited far too long but meeting Dr. Kerbaugh has changed the way I look at going to the Dentist for good. read more

I was traveling through the Nashville area and needed a dentist to take care of a chipped tooth. I was referred to Spring Hill Modern Dentistry and WOW was I impressed with the results Dr Abby Kerbaugh and her team worked me in on a busy Friday afternoon. I went in with pain from the chipped tooth. A couple hours later I left with a new permanent crown and no more pain from the tooth. I can't say enough great things about Abby and her team. I whole heartedly agree with Kristen M. On everything except I was dumb enough to fall for everything including the gingivitis hoax. And I'm a person who sees a dentists every six months regularly for cleanings and care. Run run run. The office help is just as ignorant and deceptive. last but not least the music is enough to make you need Valium before the procedure ever starts. I'm going to try and highlight my experience it is very in depth but I will condense it. They failed to mention they weren't in my dental network to start with and my gingivitis was so bad I would need treatment every three months. Yes I fell for that and questioned extensivel why that could happen being a regular patient at my other dentists with my cleaning. Their response was they just weren't doing a good job. When I went for my second procedure on my (badly infected gums ) the hygienist was in a tremendous hurry she barely touched me she was in there for about seven minutes total and never did a complete job. That was when I started questioning everything. Then I started hearing other people that I knew talk about bad experiences They had there. They tried the same thing with my husband but he was smart enough to say I'll get a second opinion and did not let them do what they wanted to do. They still charged him too much for what little he had done which was very little. I spent thousands literally of my own money on my procedures there. And I still had to go back a few weeks ago because the bridge she made for me was coming out . Just leave don't even go be smart. read more
