Tried to reschedule an appointment due to an emergency. Was told they have no appointments at that date or after that date;and, that I would have to call "the day of and try to get worked in". They overcharge you and then will not refund the money. The office staff will not let you talk to anyone in accounting. They lie and say it has been credited back, but they do not do it. They are awful!!! read more

We had several experiences that we weren't thrilled about at this dentist. 1) the staff seems to shame you for certain things, immediately asking me if I was a coffee drinker when looking in my mouth. 2) they were over an hour late for my first appointment. Though they apologized, this was still very inconvenient 3) lastly, when taking my husband's blood pressure, the hygienist startled him by saying it was extremely high and did not communicate these concerns very professionally! read more

I had a problem from the start. They insisted on a full-mouth x-ray. They want the money from the insurance company. I went along with it. A year later I made an appointment for cleaning. They seated me in the treatment room. I was surprised when the girl showed up ready to do a full-mouth, you guessed it, x-ray. I declined it, which was like hitting a brick wall. They insisted that a second full x-ray was needed. They just had to have it. I finally got out of the chair and proceeded to the front door. There was another problem with this bunch: When I had money coming back to my account from my insurer, they wanted to hold on to it, saying that it could be applied to my next expense with them. Really? What kind of accounting is this? My wife and I struggled twice with them over this. They lost a patient. read more

Both are OU graduates. I met the mother once of the female. Very smart and intelligent. She spoke several languages. I had wisdom teeth pulled at the location before they moved to Deer Creek. I am very disappointed with Deer Creek Dental. My insurance company's pre-determination revealed to Deer Creek Dental that one of my fillings would not be covered and why. They never shared this information with me prior to the dental work. As a result, I had to personally pay $250 for this filling. The visit before, I was charged $30 for "special" fluoride they used without telling me the cost until is was time for me to pay. The lady who returned my call about my payment for the $250 incident said she'd pass on my concerns to the dentist. That was a week ago and I have not heard a word. Of note is that I am disappointed with myself for not making sure I knew what I was going to pay and why before the service was performed. Lesson learned. read more

Deer Creek Dental is the best dentist I have ever been to! Oklahoma is the fourth state I have lived in and these guys are by far the best! I have been looking at getting Invisalign for a while now and my previous dentist said i needed to go to an Orthodontist. These guys will do it for you and I was so impressed with the treatment, I highly recommend it to anyone who has been wanting to get their teeth "just perfect." My treatment was fast and I absolutely LOVE my teeth. The office staff is friendly, they greet you by your first name when you walk in. All these reasons is why I am happy to have found these guys. This dentist office is just like what you imagined. Their only care is money & the health of their patients is last. I won't remove my review until the staff has retracted their treatment of my husband this morning & if I were a betting woman I would venture to say that won't happen. They aren't deserving. I've been going to Deer Creek Dental (used to be Macarthur Dental) since about 2006. They've always been so wonderful to work with. The entire staff was so friendly and we built relationships. Everyone knew me by name and knew about my family. I always viewed them as almost extended family. A little over a year ago, I had a filling fall out and was very pregnant. I could not do the x-rays and lay on my back for 1-2 hours so I had to keep it clean the best I could and come in after I had my baby. I did my best but when I finally came in, a new cavity had formed and it was really really close to the nerve. We went back and forth about if I just needed a new filling or a full out root canal. They decided on just a new filling. I was relieved....at first. After the new filling was put in, my tooth hurt all the time. they filed it 2 or 3 times just thinking it was a bite problem and told me it should get better. It has not gotten better. I cannot chew anything on that side of my mouth and something as small as a strawberry seed will bring me to my knees in pain. I have a really bad feeling that I should have had the root canal. Of course, I'm not the expert and needed them to look at it. It just so happens, that my husband's HR department, at his new school, did not carry over my dental insurance and we are really strapped for cash. Like just had to sell our house kind of strapped. You know....teaching salary. So, I called, this morning, to ask about the delta dental discount plan they had told me about in the past. I had gone to the regular delta dental website and I wasn't finding it anywhere. The new office manager, who had been a little short with me before, told me she wasn't a dental insurance person she was just a dental person. When I was trying to ask if there might be another website I needed to be looking at, she cut me off and asked "so are you coming in at 2 or not?'. This was infuriating to me since I'm doing everything I can already to give Deer Creek dental the benefit of the doubt with my mouth. When I demanded to speak with someone else, she went round and round with me about how she was the only one to talk to and if I was going to be coming there for dental services I was going to have to deal with her because she accepts payments and schedules the appointments. I held my ground that I wanted to speak to someone else because I KNEW that someone else would know what I was supposed to do to find that dental discount plan. She finally allowed me to speak with someone else after making sure I knew just how unreasonable I was being in my demands, and the next person had no problem at all directing me to a website in under 30 seconds. Simple as that. I don't know when this new office manager was hired or what her problem is, but I will not continue to move heaven and hell to find and pay for child care during their limited appointment times, drive 45 minutes to see them, feel like I'm not even being listened to about my tooth pain, and then have to deal with people like her. It's unacceptable and way too much work despite how much I've loved Dr. Dao and Vandenberg. As much as it pains me, because I've been with them for so long and have actually loved so much of my experience there, I just cannot justify it any longer. Thanks to Jessica for actually giving me the info on the dental discount plan which was the only reason I even called. I guess I will have to take my family of 4, start over somewhere else completely new, and cross my fingers that they can figure out what's wrong with my tooth. read more
