The last three pics are the results of my new haircut from Elizabeth. After 8 years of searching, I finally found a hair dresseragain who can cut my hair!!!!!!! And the price is RIGHT! .....My hair is coarse, thick, heavy... long blonde hair. It has a tendency to be dry and is difficult to manage. I have ALWAYS struggled to find a cut that is flattering but also keeps it out of my face. I had a great stylist who finally figured out how to cut long layers, but she moved to Austin 7 years ago. I've tried SO many people and salons and no one could get it until I found this salon and the AMAZING, INCREDIBLE Elizabeth Rose. She LITERALLY was an answer to prayer. She took SO much time with me, listened to me and asked for my feedback. She is a perfectionist and will make sure she get it right. I told her I wanted "square",not round, not heavy and lots of movement. She is a true artist. The atmosphere at this salon is also so relaxing and peaceful, not gossipy or negative like most places. The girls are so sweet and everyone puts you at ease. Elizabeth has another girl wash my hair and had hair similar to mine so she went over and ABOVE to give me the royal treatment. I showed Elizabeth pictures from 8 years ago when I loved my hair and she said the texture looked different, so she said I needed a clarifying shampoo to completely get it squeaky clean so it could absorb the nutrients. Then, the did a purple shampoo to tone it and finished off with Pureology Hydrate and other amazing products that helped restore the texture of my hair. I have not "loved" my hair in 8 years, and I love it again now. I mean, wow! Then, I went to pay and couldn't BELIEVE how reasonable the price was! It was $15-20 cheaper than I would usually pay in Dallas. I can't wait to have my color done here too, because Elizabeth already explained what they do color-wise and it's so above and beyond what I've ever had anywhere else! The do an extra special process that helps protect your hair and they have the most extensive color selection. It's some serious art in this place. I have to leave fewer stars than I want because my service was terrible, even though the result is great. The stylist I saw was working on a regular of hers, and didn't begin my service til 20 minutes past my appointment time. Summer cleaned her station so we could get started. She talked me into a glaze at the shampoo bowl (which is great, I wanted it!), but immediately took off to go back to her prior client's makeup, though another stylist was at the makeup station, ready to start. She left me at the bowl for about 30 minutes without offering a drink or magazine, checked me once, and went back to her other client. Two other stylists came to check on me and offer her help "to get caught up," which she declined. Once she shampooed me, she brought me to her station, sectioned my hair, then went BACK over to her regular to mess with her makeup some more! I've been to Color Lab once before, adored my stylist (Peyton), enjoyed the vibe, and left feeling like a million bucks. This is the first time in ANY salon I have ever felt like an afterthought. It's not cool to sacrifice one client's experience for the sake of another. There were other people that could have taken over her prior service, but she chose to multitask. The owner, Summer, offered a discount on product for my wait time, but having to spend additional money to get an apology discount doesn't correct the problem. I debated leaving a negative review, because my first experience there WAS wonderful, but considering the overlooked, unimportant way I felt when I left, I wanted to share. I'm sure it doesn't happen often, but it shouldn't have happened at all. In future, I'll suck it up and wait to get on Peyton's books, rather than take whoever is available to go in same-day. read more

Andrea -- you rock!!! Everytime I walk into #DentonColorLab, I get excited. I have very thick, curly, dark brown hair and Andrea seems to know how to work it! I've been several vibrant colors and to this day my hair is heathly, doesn't feel abused, I still have my length and my hair isnt dryed out. I know coloring of the hair comes with maintenance, so therefore I look to and trust in Andrea with her recommendations regarding hair care. If I'm willing to put bleach on my beautiful hair, then I will be sure to keep it up with proper products. Of all things, I really do appreciate the honesty when looking to do something drastic with my hair. Andrea is always open with what it will take to maintain and shes even told me NO at one point in time, because she was actually listening to me as we would talk during my appointments. Keeping as much length as possible without my ends looking dead and brittle, was my concern. And instead of going against what I truly wanted (vibrant color, healthy hair and length), she recommended that I wait a period of time before switching it up. Who does that???!! You'd think all she'd want is my money. When really I've come to find out, she actually cares. Now that's customer service for you! It's always a good time, as it should be when your spending your hard earned money and want to enhance your beauty. All the ladies in the shop are very warm and welcoming. I had my first appointment at Denton Color Lab with Alexis and had a great experience! I have very long, strawberry blonde, curly hair and it was feeling a little dull and lifeless. She cut it dry to get a feel for the shape with my curls, which I loved (most will do wet cuts), and took off just enough to remove my damaged ends without really reducing the length. She listened to me and answered all of the questions I had, which was super important to me. I went for some super long layers to reduce some of the bulk weighing down my curls, and she nailed it! She recommended a "chem shot" deep conditioning service, complete with a peppermint hot towel while it soaked in, which was super relaxing. I left being able to run my hands through the ends of my hair without it getting caught, something I previously couldnt do. I now have super silky, soft, and healthy hair for an excellent, affordable price. I already have made my next appointment to go back for a "glaze" color treatment to enhance my natural red before my upcoming wedding. This salon is very "upscale" feeling, definitely known for the fashion color work, and they carry things like Redken, Pureology, Olaplex #3, etc. Lots of pureology "gift set" options that are great deals (think cheaper than regular price, with a free extra product thrown in), and lots of trial sized products if you want to try something new before committing to the full-size bottle. Nicole is a talented, saint who transformed my hair for my wedding day. The day before, my typical hairdresser absolutely butchered a balayage, leaving streaky highlights on my hair. I was in distress and was calling all over to find someone who could help me on short notice and fix my hair before my big day. This salon was the ONLY salon compassionate enough to hear what happened, and do everything in their power to help. Nicole squeezed me the day I called. For the entire duration of the appointment, she was kind, understanding, and determined to fix my botched hair. Her attention to detail and patience are easily exhibited by the fact that she won't settle until everything is perfect. It meant so much that Nicole went the extra mile for my hair. I was so comfortable in the atmosphere and just knew everything would work out, and holy moly did it. This salon has the highest quality humans (I had the pleasure of working with Nicole, Kaitlyn, and Beck, y'all rock!!) ambiance and comfortability. I want to give a huge shoutout to Denton Color Lab. (In particular, Lauren.) I haven't had my hair professionally cut or colored in a few years. All of my hair wants and whims have been taken care of by me in my bathroom. Lauren listened to my latest accident without judging me and without pressuring me to do anything. I told her my priority today was to get a good cut done and she was very meticulous in making sure she could recreate the cut that I wanted and she seemed to have fun doing it. I also had a consultation for balayage lightening. I was given a very direct quote with no you pressure to schedule it. I said that I would schedule coloring when I had a more clear idea of what I wanted because bleach/lightening is something I think should be taken seriously given the investment of time and money. ANYWAY! I'm a first time client and I'm glad I took a chance. I'm really surprised at the quality of the cut for the price. Lauren really took her time to make sure every strand was exactly how I wanted it and even made sure there weren't any errant hairs messing up my look. I would have to start by giving 5 stars to Angie H., who is a natural when it comes to haircolor. I was in a bind and my regular hairdresser of over 13 yrs was out of town. My daughter was going to estitician school at the time, and told me she had heard thru the other girls that Angie (one of the cosmos studying there too) was awsome at color. I took a chance and booked an appointment with her and have been with her over 8 months now. Needless to say, I "broke up" with my hairdresser of 13 yrs. & haven't missed him (he saw her work and also agreed that she had a natural talent). I would highly recommended booking with Angie H., not only does she have a passion for what she does, but is a natural at it....I can promise you that you'll see what I see in her, an exceptional hairdresser! Another 5 stars to the salon and other staff members. I love the well lit and open air feel of the salon, very clean and simple decor make it feel very pleasing to the eye and makes you feel at ease while getting all pretty. This place is wonderful!!!!! I took my daughter here to get the ends of her hair colored. I took my time researching local salons and The Denton Color Lab came out on top by a mile!!!! We were greeted as soon as we walked in by our stylist, Elizabeth Rose. She took us on a quick tour explaining all of the services the salon offered and offered us a drink. She then sat my daughter in the chair and asked us both what we wanted done. Once she was clear on the request she got to work. Elizabeth Rose took her time, explaining each step of the process and all the while offering tips and suggestions on how to maintain and style my daughters hair. She even spun her chair around so I could see what she was doing!!! This was a fantastic first salon experience for my daughter. And the coloring was BEAUTIFUL!!! My daughter is so excited and loves how it turned out. (And I find myself a bit envious of how beautifully the coloring blends into her hair and the overall quality of the job.). I think I'm in love with Andrea you guys. Not only is she beautiful and friendly and caring and a great conversationalist (but not like OVERLY conversational if you know what I mean), but she is a MAGICIAN with my hair. I have always been VERY picky about my color and have only trusted a couple stylists to do it my whole life. The first time Andrea did my color, she spent almost 30 minutes digging through books of color swatches, looking at pictures online with me, and trying to really get a feel for exactly what I wanted (which I REALLY appreciated-- I didn't feel rushed at all!). She NAILED it!! It's like she read my mind and created exactly what I wanted with my hair. She's incredible. I've been going to her for over a year now and I never want to go to anyone else for the rest of my life. She is legitimately THE BEST and Denton Color Lab's prices are very reasonable for the quality of service you get! Have I mentioned they offer you mimosas or a beer when you get there? Summer started doing my hair when I was in high school, through college & when I was single. I moved away when I got married, & never found another stylist who compared to her. So I am back having her do my hair again even though I have to drive to Denton because SHE IS THE BEST AT DOING HAIR. My mom, sister & friends would say the same as well. Summer makes us all look amazing. She knows what she is doing. She did my hair & makeup for my wedding & a few other times when I was a bridesmaid. I loved what she did for me!!! I've seen Alexis twice now, and I couldn't be happier. She's absolutely incredible, meticulous, caring, and skilled at what she does. She takes great care to make sure you have the perfect style and always asks for feedback throughout the process so that you walk away satisfied, even if it means redoing color or spending more time trimming. I've struggled with finding a hairdresser who can make me feel good about my hair, as I have a very short cut and most salons end up giving me a masculine look. But Alexis listened to my concerns and made the process relaxing and pain-free for me. She's also very accommodating to my autism, which adds another layer of difficulty in getting a cut. The Color Lab is a little pricey, but ultimately worth it if you want to walk away feeling really good about yourself. I highly recommend stopping by if you can. read more

I called today for a haircut and they were able to fit me in same day, which was great! My stylist was Elizabeth Rose, and she did a great job! I showed her a couple of pictures of what I'd like my haircut to look like, and she started to notice the similarities and asked me about specific parts of it to make sure she gave me exactly the cut I wanted. I left a lot of it up to her since I'm not too picky, and she did a beautiful job! I'm in love with my haircut!! She was fun to talk to, and gave me great hair advice. Elizabeth also curled my hair and showed me how to style it myself, which was SO helpful to me. The prices are reasonable here, and I definitely recommend this place to anyone for a haircut or styling. Elizabeth Rose is the best stylist! I trust her completely. When I first started having her cut/color my hair, I would spend 5 minutes (at the most) on my hair each morning because I had no clue what to do to it. Each time I see her, we discuss color and then she explains what and why she is cutting/styling my hair a certain way. She makes sure I can do it on my own and has no problems answering any of my (many) questions. She has taken my hair on a coloring adventure, and I have had a blast every step of the way! Has she upsold some products or services? Sure, but it is a SALON! I've never felt pressured to buy anything. I am new to the area and was looking for a new place to get my hair cut. I saw the reviews for Denton Color lab and thought it was too good to be true, but I was proved wrong! I was able to get a same day appointment with Elizabeth and had the best time with her. From the moment I stepped in the door, I received nothing but exceptional service. The ladies were all warm and welcoming. I have curly hair and its always hard to find someone who can help get the right cut for it. My boyfriend dropped a hint that we would be engaged before Thanksgiving, which was 3 weeks away at the time, and I panicked because I had been putting off fixing my overgrown gross blonde hair. I called the DCL and they were able to squeeze me in the same day! Kaylee was amazing and helped me get my hair color back to my natural root, color matched PERFECTLY! The color fell right off my hair because of a PH balance issue in my hair, and Kaylee had me come back so she could fix it for me for free. This was my first time getting my hair cut here, and I'll definitely be returning. The entire staff seem very friendly, I was greeted by literally everyone when I walked in. I waited maybe 5 minutes before being sat in Brittneys chair, during which one of the employees gave me a quick tour of the place and offered something to drink. Brittney was wonderful, she listened to what I wanted and asked questions to clarify. I really couldn't be happier with the results! I will admit I was intimidated walking in because it's such a trendy space, but everyone was so nice and I felt absolutely no obligation to buy any products. Love this place! I first went to Teghin to have a basic haircut, and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I'm so bad at being specific, but she seemed to have a really good grasp on what would look good on me and what wouldn't. Since I had such a great experience the first time, I came back to Teghin for color and IT WAS AMAZING. I came in with little idea of what I wanted, but a few pictures, and she seemed to just know. I am in love with the result, and have never gotten so many compliments on my hair. Teghin and the rest of the girls at the salon are all so nice and friendly.
