i went there for an all over color and a bang trim. rachel did good with the color until she started cutting my bang. she didn't even section my hair or part my hair right and just start chopping. my hair is so uneven (one side short than the other) they tried to fix it but still looks so bad, made so hard for me to style it. i even asked her if she needs me to part my hair right but told me no. why couldn't she just tell me she has no experience in cutting hair and let someone else do it for me? i wasn't gonna be mad, all she gotta do was let me know!! she kept trying to cut more when my hair was already looking so bad... then when i went to go pay, it was 105$ the front desk lady charged me when the all over color said it was $80 on the booking website and $10 for a bang trim that i shouldn't even have to pay for cuz they messed up my bang. it was terrible. i went there so many times, this time was upsetting. Absolutely great experience here this past weekend for my 6 and 3 year old girls! We went with Lexi and she was sooo sweet. My girls loved her. We haven't gotten their hair cuts in 9 months due to Covid so this was long overdue so my older one had a solid 4-5 inches cut and for my little one we went with 2 inches. Lexi was great at understanding exactly what I wanted for their styles and she even gave them what they asked for in terms of a style! I appreciated that we were kept at least 6 feet away from other clients and all staff were wearing their masks appropriately. Girls got a lollipop so that was an added bonus. I'm a busy working mom with little time for myself. I scheduled an appointment a week ago excited for fresh hair that hasn't been cut in over a year. I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time until I realized it didn't look like they'd be ready anytime soon for me! Super disappointing. Not much of an apology or anything. Although, I have taken my toddler here for a haircut before and they were very patient with him. Update: Both the hair stylist and owner (?) reached out to me and apologized and took responsibility. I think it says a lot about a business that doesn't just apologize and defend themselves, but realizes that something should have been different. I went back and got my hair done this morning and Skylar did a beautiful job. Very friendly, answered lots of questions I had about hair, and talented. My current Hair stylist moved her salon to Prosper so I wanted to find a stylist local to the Lewisville/Flower Mound area. I did a search and came across the Hayden Hair Studio in Flower Mound. I saw Skylar Olsen's work on the FB page as well as her IG page and liked what I saw and scheduled an appointment with her for a cut and color package for $171.00, assuming this package would include a cut, highlights and grey coverage. I arrived for my appointment on Friday at 3:30 and immediately did not feel welcomed from the moment Skylar approached me. She simply asked me to have a seat and wasn't engaging at all. I had to start the conversation and show her pictures of what I wanted to achieve with my hair which was to add additional blonde highlights to the darker areas. She immediately stated quite abruptly, "I don't have time for that today and will have to do that on your next visit". I told her that I had assumed the package I chose would include highlights and she said no but I can do some blending for you today. So with that, she proceeded to the process. The pictures that I showed her included brighter blonde highlights framing the face which is referred to as a "money piece" and she stated she could do that at this visit. I have to add that when I walked in I had more blonde in my hair than when I walked out (assuming this is because she toned the hair twice) and did not get the "money piece" either. I didn't fully notice this until I got in my car and in natural lighting. I will say that the blending she did was good and was pleased with it. She cut my hair and we discussed texturizing it to avoid heaviness on the ends. She did some light texturizing. It seemed to be okay, as far as I could tell. Before I continue, I need to add that during the entire time of my visit Skylar made no attempt to initiate conversation. It was very awkward. She scheduled a second appointment in eight weeks for grey coverage and the highlights. I paid and walked out of the salon. I did walk back in and told her that from time to time I see Facebook posts from women looking for a local hair stylist and if she minded if I recommended her (I regret this in hindsight). Here is what she replied back, "only if you promise not to send me any "crazies". Wow! That took me back and I was not expecting that. As I got into my car, I thought to myself "how will I know if I become a "crazy"? And what does that mean anyway? Once home and in my own mirror I began to further examine my hair. As you know we have to live in our hair a minute after a salon visit to fully see the results. I did notice the ends were in fact still thick and heavy and required more texturizing. I didn't want to wait eight weeks until my next appointment and pay for another hair cut. I knew Skylar had left for the day so I waited until the next day which was Saturday and called the salon at noon and asked for Skylar. The lady who answered stated she was currently with a client and she could have her call me back. I gave her my name and number and waited. I never heard from her. Assuming she may have been very busy on a Saturday and knowing they are closed on Monday, I waited until Tuesday. But, still no returned call. I should have called back but after my experience in her chair I was beginning to wonder if no return call was her way of telling me she didn't want me back in her chair. Something just felt off. I decided to blow it off and wait until my next appointment to address the issue and hoped this one would go better than the first. I believe in second chances. Fast forward 8 weeks later, I received a text message from the salon 3 days prior to my appointment to confirm, which I did. Then another text one day prior to confirm, which I did. My appointment was scheduled at 10am on a Saturday morning and I was up bright and early anticipating the appointment to get the highlights that I had long awaited for. I happened to check my phone at 8:30 and see a text message from Skylar. It read as follows "Hi Denise this is Skylar from Hayden Hair. I have been up all night with a stomach bug and need to reschedule, I can either send you the link to reschedule online or if you call the salon our receptionist will help find a spot for you!" While I appreciated the heads up and felt bad that she was allegedly sick, I would also have expected some sort of recognition or apology for the inconvenience after waiting eight weeks. That is simply a professional courtesy. To be fully honest, I wanted to believe that she was in fact sick however, taking into account all that had previously transpired, I was not that surprised the appointment was not going to happen. I cannot speak to the professionalism of the other stylists but would highly recommend that you think twice before scheduling any services with Skylar Olsen. I gave the review 2 stars instead of 1 since I was happy with her blending technique. read more

The place was actually VERY nice as promoted online. It was very modern with nice decor. They also had chairs that reclined at the wash station which I have not seen at other salons. They also had A LOT of snacks and beverages available for customers for free. Although my hair did not come out as straight as I would have liked it was a pretty good experience. I needed to bring in a disabled relative. Since my own stylist recently moved, I made both of us appointments. While there, I found the stylist to be very cold. I tried to make small talk as did my mother. My mom struggles to speak. The stylist just was, best described as cold. My mom left a great tip and I did too. I did not wish to return because of how the employee behaved. But the handicapped parking was great. It is right in front and easy to get inside. The business is small in size so easy to get to where you need to be. But, it turns out, they don't want us back. We do not fit their typical clientele. I "get it." They want to be the hot and cool place. But it is never cool to treat anyone this way, let alone this treatment toward a disabled person. It is not okay to support a business that would stomp on a person like this. There are plenty of good places to go without supporting the hate. read more

This is the worst salon I've been to in a long time. The stylists suck and do not know what they are doing; forgetting how to do basic things all stylists or barbers should know how to do. If you have shorter hair, forget it- clueless. If you look at all their reviews or photos on their website, everyone has long hair and its a color job and then curled. I got home and had to break out my clippers and scissors and fix everything the stylist missed. If I need to tell you how to do every little thing and then still not get it, then your starting rate of $60 is ridiculous and should be lowered according to level of experience. Customer service also sucked all around, from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. The manager was unprofessional in response to my complaint to fix an error on my receipt which any retail business would promptly accommodate adjustments. I'm never going back to this establishment/everything about it is garbage! read more
