Performed my LEOSA shooting here for each of the past two years. Lonnie is well versed in gun safety and runs a good business.

I love being able to talk and joke about a range of things ( pun intended ). The range is clean and ran with safety as a priority. The only issue I have is my fat ass feels like I'm about to break their chairs. That's more a "me" issue though. I think I will only shoot here as I feel like family when I am there. Even if by family, I mean that cousin you tolerate. :). Seriously though, this place is an awesome place to send rounds down range. Highly recommend!!!!

They are always attentive. I've visited on Wednesday for Ladies Day a couple of times. There is always someone available in the shooting area for questions and concerns. That person will offer suggestions or assistance from time to time. When we visit on other days they are not "standing at the ready" in the same way, so that is definitely a benefit for ladies who are trying to get more comfortable with shooting. I'm not very experienced yet and they have been so helpful as I learn. Silly little things happen when you are trying to reload or the gun jams or something. They have really helped me build confidence. We have visited during weekdays and on weekends and it's always been a positive experience. We have not been there in the evening. I would definitely recommend Texas Legends.

Everyone who works there is professional with safety as the literal top priority. I taught my kids to shoot there. In past ~5 years or so, builders have built homes about a mile away. Northwest ISD has built a school. Country acreage and fields still surround on all sides. Two bullets were found at the new school, and the assumption is that it was bullets from the public range which has tall berms and does not directly have line of aim to the school. This range's presence is not a safety issue. For folks are concerned about this, consider having NISD foot the bill to build bigger berms or indoor shooting range for Quail Creek. Why not? NISD is already spending our tax money like water.

I'm a gun owner and strong supporter of the Second Amendment. This is indefensible…read more Two bullets have been found in the exterior of Barksdale Middle School, 1.2 miles from this range. Northwest ISD says it tried to work with the owner on safety improvements and couldn't even get a commitment. The district isn't asking to shut the range down. They're asking for reasonable safety measures to keep bullets from leaving the property. How is that even controversial? Every gun owner knows you are responsible for where your rounds go. If there's a credible possibility rounds from my range could be reaching a middle school, I'm doing everything possible to make sure it can never happen again. I'm not making the school district sue me. I support gun ranges. I want this one to stay open. But responsible gun ownership means taking safety seriously, especially when kids are involved. Fix the damn problem.
