I was definitely nervous day of but Damon eased those feelings once we got started. Damon gave us so much great information regarding how to get away from dangerous situations, how to stay alert and aware of our surroundings, what could happen if I was in a bad situation - lots of hands-on training and step-by-step instructions. Damon was easy to talk to, listened intently to our questions and answered them thoroughly with real life examples. I hope I never have to use these newly acquired skills but I know if I'm ever put in a life-threatening situation, I'll be prepared. I HIGHLY recommend his class! I can't wait to take the next one!

Unfortunately, I am posting this based off events that took place AFTER my class. The class was…read morefine, very crammed but it was exactly what you would expect. I misplaced (now found) my certificate that Scott signed and asked for them to forward me the copy they had (they make you sign two copies and tell you to reach out if you ever need it). They were unable to locate my information. After several less than professional emails back and forth I was just done. I decided I'd post a review on Facebook to catch their attention that I really needed their help and now that they got my money they were not helping me. This is when their unprofessional attitude came out even more... They replied with snarky remark saying I didn't pass my shooting class and for public safety I would lose my gun like I did with my certificate. I was shocked and went on a mass hunt for my certificate and found it! I sent them a private message asking for an apology for lying and not just apologizing and helping me before I posted pictures proving they were lying. It became clear after about 15 more comments of "satisfied" groupon customers to cover up his prior comment that he would not be apologizing and I just needed to end the conversation. It is what it is, they are unhelpful and unprofessional but I feel I need to make others aware it's all good and gravy until your unhappy... Then they attack you and refuse to help! He has continued to delete his comments and rewrite different attacking comments! I recommend reading all reviews, I see others saying communication was very unprofessional and people were ignored too!

It's a little parcel of land and I applaud the owners for providing an entrepreneurial service where they likely don't make a ton of money. I'm sure with some time and a little more income to expand / improve this will become even more popular. The class was held at a local restaurant/convenience store party room. It's handy, comfortable enough, the instructor has his act together and there is room for discussion, levity and conversation about self-defense, when to use force, when not to, when you can but should you etc... As it's attached to a convenience store, you've access to whatever you could possibly need and the bathrooms are clean!! (for you lady folk that may consider this). The range is a short 10 min drive and breaks up the middle of class and sets up nicely for a lunch break. As far as being "tea partiers" or whatnot, I take umbrage at that statement. Not a single person in our class (including the two ladies or instructor) gave off a "shoot first ask questions later vibe" or even anything political, aside from why we're all there to exercise our 2nd amendment rights. Shooing citizens away from firearms, safety, use of force and the very consistent message that deadly force is the last option makes me question the previous review and whether they actually attended this class or not. For the record, I'm a card carrying Libertarian and have zero to do with the "tea partiers". Epic fail bringing politics into firearm safety and carry / concealed instruction in the great state of Texas.

The class is in what looks like a Tuff shed filled with some really uncomfortable folding chairs. It's a bare-bones set up with apparently no heat and no A/C and only ONE toilet. The parking is across the highway so wear your running shoes to keep from getting mowed down to get into the building. The classes are quite large - ours was about 50 people. There are only 3 loaner guns so you should definitely bring your own. It had rained a couple of days before and the shooting range where we had to take our shooting test was a mud pit.

Mr. Mischke has gone above and beyond with his graciousness and hospitality. When we first got them in we were fostering our girls so their confidence was a little low. This experience has helped them build their confidence, discipline and respect for others while learning to defend themselves in a fun atmosphere. My wife and I have started attending the adult Krav Maga classes and have enjoyed them thus far. We highly recommend this establishment for the entire family.

My wife has gone from a white belt and her first Gi to black belt in Taekwondo here. My son looped through the entire Little Dragons course and is working through his green belt to get to purple. I am beyond impressed with the quality and consistency of the instruction provided here by all of the instructors. I am also greatly pleased at the levels of confidence and competence obtained by both my wife and my son as a result of their training. I'd gladly give Mr. Mischke the shirt off my back in return for what he gave to us. I would happily recommend this to anyone, regardless of your skill level or expertise!
