We attended NTLC for about a year and a half after coming from another daycare where we had a…read morereally difficult experience. When we first started, my son was 3 years old, and we truly loved his teacher. He adjusted well, was happy, and we felt like we had found a good fit for our family. Things started to change when he turned 4 and moved into the Pre-K classroom. During his time in that class, there were 3-4 teacher changes, and the lack of consistency was very difficult for him. We started seeing more behavioral struggles and tried to work with the school to figure out how we could support him together. Unfortunately, we often felt like communication was lacking, and we weren't getting a clear picture of what was happening during his days there. By the time we were made aware of the full extent of the issues, his behaviors had escalated to things like hitting, biting, and trying to leave the school. Even then, we felt the severity of what was happening was not fully communicated. A few months before they decided to unenroll him, we started receiving more details about what had been happening. These were things we felt should have been documented and communicated on the days they occurred, rather than being shared months later. We provided multiple plans and suggestions and truly tried to partner with the school. However, it often felt like our ideas were dismissed with a "we can't do that," or they would try something once or twice and decide it wasn't working. There was no consistent approach, and we never felt like everyone was working toward the same goal. This experience was disappointing because we genuinely wanted to work together to help our son succeed. Unfortunately, I would not recommend NTLC for children who are strong-willed, struggle with transitions, or need additional behavioral support. If your child does not fit the expectations outlined in their handbook, it felt like the staff struggled to determine how to best support them. While there were staff members we appreciated, our overall experience was that the communication and support from administration were not what we needed during a challenging time. We also found that questions and feedback were often met with defensiveness rather than an open conversation focused on finding solutions.

We even recommended them to several of our friends. NLTC made becoming parents so much smoother. We learned so much from the staff and how wonderfully they run their program. We moved out of state and leaving them was the hardest part. A special shout out to all of the girls on the management team (Chloe, Taylan, Akhia, Liz and Karina) and our favorite teachers Miss Ashley, Miss Blayne, Mr. Francisco, Mr. Spencer and Miss Quinn. Over the years I have politely avoided her whenever possible. I even know of 2 different families that quit this place because of her ridiculous behavior. Just as my little one was finishing up the last of her lessons she had to exit the pool due to an accident by another child in the water. Gross but understandable. What is not understandable is what happened after. My daughter was having a private lesson that I had cashed in 4 of her already paid for makeup lessons. She got about 6 mins of the 1/2 hr lesson. I asked that they re-issue these makeups (since this wasn't our fault). I'm told that's not their policy. Then ok but I would then have to pay the new monthly fee for using my makeups since her enrollment was expiring and we were going to be traveling. You closed the pool during her lesson. Im not saying it's your fault, but it certainly isn't mine. I those were 4 paid for lessons. Swim isn't cheap. I have given this company thousandths of dollars over the years. Why would you make such a big deal out of this? The girls at the front desk and the asst manager all understood my point of view and were super nice as always. The manager however calls me and precede to talk down to me like I am an idiot. Please note this isn't the 1st time she's done this to me. I just took it with a grain of salt the first few times because I've heard her do this to multiple people while there. I'm explaining to her what happened because she had her facts all wrong and she begins yelling at me telling me that "I" have an attitude. What?? The audio was coming in through the car and my husband and I just looked at each other like what on earth? I couldn't get a word in edgewise from that point on and actually asked to speak to Pam (since she's sane and calmer) which only irritated her more. The level of unprofessionalism is off the charts with this woman. She needs therapy, not a job in charge of children. I will never come back nor recommend this place. Such a shame.

Master Quay, Mister Jeff, and the rest of the incredible staff made us feel right at home. First off, we learned right away that we were learning Youn Wha system, I couldn't tell you what system of martial arts we were learning before, but it was incredibly modified. We had to learn to properly chamber punches and kicks, and even some new techniques that were not taught at our previous school. With help from the instructors, and a little hard work, we got caught up quickly. Since then my family has gone on to compete in tournaments, gain confidence, and meet new people all over the country, that have been very supportive of our family. We now have two black belts, a red belt, a blue belt, and a green belt. I would strongly recommend Talon Martial Arts for anyone looking to loose a few pounds, learn leadership skills, gain additional confidence, all while meeting great people.
