I attempted to replace the battery in a family-owned Macbook Pro. All went well EXCEPT that I broke a tiny clip that attaches the ribbon cable from the battery's daughter board to the logic board. Local Mac resellers refused to attempt the fix, but Denver Mac Repair performed the repair in only a few days saving me hundreds of dollars. I won't promise not to attempt a future repair on an Apple device, but with a high-quality shop like DMR so close, I'll have to think long and hard about DIY! Thanks for the great service! read more

I went to Denver Mac Repair to fix my HomePod for a sound issue, everything else was perfectly fine. Christopher made me sign a form and pay $99 upfront, he said they will keep me updated throughout the process an the estimate repair date was 4/9, I was never updated they only called once but that only happened because I called them several times to check on it, I was told on 4/21 when I called them again that my HomePod was fixed and ready to be picked up, upon picking it up I paid $45 more. When I arrived home and plug in the device it didn't power on, was poorly reassembled as parts were coming out. I went back to get a resolution today 4/22 but unfortunately Christopher got defensive and said the most they can do is take another look, I explained to him that I didn't feel comfortable doing that due to the experience I had with them, he simply refused to make it right and this feels like scam to me. read more

Stopped in to get my hard drive removed from a Mac Air and the guy quoted me $150 and they couldn't get to it for 4 days. Really? That is crazy. I ordered a $6 set of screwdrivers for the computer on Amazon, got them the next day and had the hard drive out in literally FIVE minutes. And the computer back together 3 minutes after that. I would have happily paid the guy $35 to do it while I waited, but $150 and four days? That's nonsense. There are dozens of YouTube videos on servicing your own Macs - it's not that hard. And with the kind of mark up they are trying to get, there's no way I would trust them alone with a computer that had any kind of business or financial data on it. NOT recommended. read more

This place takes poor customer service to a whole new level. With limited places that actually repair apple watches other than the apple store i personally try to go and support local business with the hope of a possible return relationship for any other mac repair or references. I recently purchased a new apple watch series 5 and made the stupid choice of not adding a screen protector or even insured it right away and accidentally dropped the watch on a concrete floor causing it to crack. Calling around this place seemed to be best bang for your buck. With labor and material the cost was $250 also with the assurance it would be about 3 days for pick up. I picked up the watch everything looked fine it was dead however and the lady who checked me out was real sweet mention how she was the Technician and asked to leave a good review prior to purchased and she'd discount $10. Taking it home i noticed the screen was kinda loose so i called back and they said to wait a while bc the glue was still drying (nothing mention prior to my departure) after a while and putting it on the sensitivity of the apple watch was all over the place so i went ahead and returned it to the owner said they call me back with the Diagnostic, i never from them till i called back 3 days later then was given the excuse that they were waiting on the glue to dry. So i called the next day and was told that the watch's main "chip"was dis functional and they perhaps would have to send it to a third party and they'd give me the amount it was going to be to fix? "WTF.......!" I simply said I'd prefer to take the watch back as it was turned in and refunded? Charlie (the owner said thats fine itll be ready the next day ). I came in around noon the owner no where to be found they mentioned he was at a doctors appointment . As the cashier comes around and bring me my watch i notice the entire screen was pulled off after that I was adamant to speak to the order so they called him from the landline. After what was a waste of time and money the owner felt that the screen didn't need to be on considering it was the reason why I initially went in to get it fixed. Also he'd be returning the full amount so therefore why did he need to owe me anything back????? After the service that was displayed from this establishment and the poor management and communication I highly suggest you guys get insurance for your devices and just stick to the masters and not the rookies. This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to leave a bad review. I understand that things go wrong and I generally just move on because we've all been there--but my experience was really disappointing. I'm hesitant to even post this because I'm a strong supporter of small and local businesses but I don't want anyone else to have the same experience . I originally brought my Mac in for water repair after my toddler got it wet, I was charged around $350 and picked it up thinking it was fixed. When I tried to use my laptop again, my screen was white and blurry (it fades to just the borders after a few hours but is almost completely white when booted up). I called Denver Mac Repair and they said to bring it back because their work was still under warranty and they could take a look at it. At this point, customer service really dropped. I called them to see what the diagnosis was a few days later after I hadn't heard from them and they told me that they were going to test my computer with a new display ...after they did that they said it would fix the problem. I agreed to the price and said to go ahead with the repair. They didn't give me any updates unless I called to see what was going on--even after they gave me dates that the work would be done. I would call the day it was supposed to be finished and they would tell me the new display was on back order, they had shipping issues (which is not the issue, I understand that shipping is tricky with Covid, I would just expect to be updated), or the technician was out of the shop (all of this over a 2-3 week period). Eventually, when the display did arrive, I paid another $500 and was told that the problem was fixed. When I turned my laptop on after bringing it home, the screen was still white and blurry which makes me think they didn't even check to see that it worked. I called and left 3 voicemails over 2 weeks (very polite messages, like I said, this is my first bad review, I'm not a "let me talk to your manager" kind of person) with no response and no one answering my calls. Finally, I asked my husband to call (since they seemed to be avoiding my calls) and they answered his call the first time he tried. They said they didn't see any calls or voicemails from me and they didn't have any suggestions to help except that I could that I could bring it back in and they would take a "deeper" look. After spending over $850 dollars with no resolution and, most importantly, really bad customer service, I will not be bringing it back--I'd rather just start over at a new shop. I brought my iPhone in to have its screen replaced. That's all--pretty straight-forward. I was told the repair would be easy and would be completed by Apple certified experts in about an hour. Best of all, only $100! Here's the problem. Yeah, they "fixed" the screen insofar that it's not cracked anymore but unfortunately the front camera no longer works, nor does the light sensor (meaning no more True Tone display). Also, the screen is unresponsive about 20% of the time to the tune that I have to to turn the display off then on again, and even then that doesn't always work. Finally, the screen just feels cheap. I know that may be subjective, but I've been using Apple products for 10+ years, and this is my first broken screen. That is, I consider myself well-versed in what an iPhone screen *should* feel like... and this wasn't it. What f'ing a waste of money. I ended up buying a new iPhone. Avoid this place. I normally wouldn't write a slightly negative review, but I'd like to help others if they end up having the same issue as I did with my 2017 MBP-- (flashing folder with a question mark at boot) At first, I do think that Denver Mac Repair tried to help by checking out my 2017 MacBook Pro. They were kind at arrival. My laptop randomly shut off while I was working during the COVID-19 shutdown and then wouldn't reboot. A flashing folder with question mark was popping up and it just wouldn't turn on past that. Apple Store was still closed until an undetermined date, so the only possible option was to go to a certified Mac repair shop. I thought it may be a hardware issue, so it was definitely not cool for a 3 year old MBP to be running into this issue. The diagnostic fee was a $95 and in addition they quoted me a $1280 + tax logic board replacement OR a $550 repair that may or may not have worked--and it would take a few weeks to get it all back to me. I decided to hold off because that price could essentially buy me a new laptop. I found a way to boot my MBP through an external hard drive until Apple store reopened and took it there to get a second opinion. They ran diagnostics for free and found that it was a software issue (not the logic board) and they fixed it in two and a half hours. My laptop was out of warranty and has no AppleCare plan, so I was ecstatic that it is now fixed at no cost and works as new, but if you're running into the same folder with question mark flashing issue-- go to AppleStore in Cherry Creek first (Or get their second opinion)! read more

I never write negative reviews, particularly with a small business but DMR cost me $600 and two full days of my time to get back to normal so feel people should have a "Buyer Beware". I so wanted to support them. Took my phone in for a battery and screen. Waited an hour, picked up phone, by the time I got home, phone did not work at all. Battery would not charge, touch screen glitchy and dark - could only be read at 100% brightness. Took it back (along with an old iMac for a refurb as I liked the dude), no problem, they could fix it. Another hour. When I picked it up screen still did not work properly. Could only be read at full brightness. The guy (non-owner with the owner next to him) says "I don't see a problem, looks fine to me the only thing we can do is put your original screen back on. You will have to bring it back tomorrow." My first thought is you're repairing this and you cannot see there is an issue. Two he was a jerk. And the only thing you recommend is putting back the original screen? And tomorrow? After already spent three hours pfaffing with them. I went directly to the Apple Store. Diagnostics said the ambient light sensor and touch screen was indeed not functional as it was a cheap non Apple part. The battery connector was held in place with tape. They could not repair it (as there was some water damage - in fairness DMR had reported that) and I had to get a new phone. Apple had to keep the old phone. Call DMR, could I get anything back. I didn't even ask for a full refund. Only if I bring back the parts. I said I had to turn the phone in. Too bad so sad. I would have been happy with a $50 refund. The guy could care less. Two hours later he calls back offering me $40 off my data back up on my computer refurb if I went forward with that. Seriously?!?! I get a discount off work that hasn't been done after wrecking a functioning phone and refusing to properly repair it. All while wasting two days of my time getting back up and running. I am a luddite. And mid pandemic craze, when everything was closed I replaced both the battery and screen (with legit Apple parts). And both worked far batter than the work these "experts" did. If you value your time and money avoid this place. It's janky and their service could not be worse. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR COMPUTERS HERE. I've been taking 4 of my computers to them for 10 years and all of my company's computers. Apparently, customer loyalty means nothing to them and all they care about is gouging their customers for as much money as they can. They put a bad hard drive in my computer. When it failed, they refused to pay for the cost of the data recovery. Then they tried to charge me for the cost of the old hard drive so I could take it somewhere to be recovered. This is not the first bad part they put in my computers. My original batter lasted 8 years, their replacement lasted less than two. They replaced two fans that lasted less than two years. I cannot say enough nice things about these guys. Earlier in spring 2018 I took in my 2012 MacBook Air due to some liquid damage on the keyboard. They were unable to save my laptop but transferred all of my data to a new laptop for only the small deposit I had put down. Today, I brought in my iPhone SE because the Touch ID had stopped working. In 10 minutes, they reset the cable, bringing it back to life, and didn't charge me a thing. I will put up with the Genius Bar if I absolutely have to, but Denver Mac Repair is now my first call no question. read more

i had a macbook pro with a failed gpu (all my online research pointed to that problem) . they quoted me $120 for a diagnostic which took over a week (after they said "only about 3 days"). i had to call them, only for them to tell me what we all already knew: that the gpu had failed. they tell me "we can definitely install a bypass chip and get your laptop working again" and waive the diagnostic fee "should take less than a month" okay so that at least sounds very fair. but then a few months go by.... no word from DMR at all! i call them, wait for 30 minutes, and finally get through and talk to a guy in the back. he tells me "we ordered the part and it's still on its way" (did you maybe forget to order the part??). the repair guy says 'ill let you know as soon as its in and we get it installed'. ...another month and a half goes by. again, i hear nothing from DMR! i call them again, and wait again for a long while on the phone. finally, the repair guy tells me he tried to call me (total lie as i checked my call record/messages afterwards and there was nothing from DMR). he then tells me he installed the chip but actually "the whole logic board is fried now". sounds like a completely incompetent repair! and he says it'll now cost me an extra $400 to get the whole logic board replaced(could you actually trust them to do any decent repair at this point?? do i need to wait another 5 months?). or i can leave the now toatlly fried macbook with them and he'll make some money with it by up-selling the parts. or otherwise, i can just pay the diagnostic fee to get them to give me my now 'even more broken than before' laptop back. either way they get your money (regardless of their terrible job)!! i even tried reasoning with them but they wouldn't give me the laptop back without paying them for their completely bad repair/diagnostic, really unprofessional non-communications, and extreme bad wait time along the way. I had two encounters with these guys in the past two weeks: 1.) My granddaughter closed the lid on my MacBook Pro with a marble turtle on the keyboard. Yeah, she did. Broke 'em both! I called DMR and the guy told me, "Yes, we could fix it but we have to pay a premium to get our hands on a late model display like that. It'd run about $1000. Better you go to Apple. They are doing them about $750, save yourself $250." Sure enough, Apple hit me up for $735. Great advice. Totally did right by me. 2.) I'd been having trouble getting my iPhone to charge. After suspecting power cables and trying multiple brands I began to suspect the power port on the iPhone itself. I called DMR. Guy said, "Yeah, we can fix that. Bring it in." I was there in an hour. He took my phone to the bench and returned a minute later where he handed the phone over and said, "All better. Pocket lint..." Really? He could have told me anything. Could have taken it apart and charged me for a new port anyway or worse, could have cleaned it and said he replaced it and charged me for parts and work he didn't do. Instead, he handed me the phone and said, "Here you go. No charge. Bring it back in if it happens again..." Great service. Totally did right by me. Twice. Great outfit!! They're nice - but dishonest. I found out after htey did the repair - after they took my money - and after the "warranty" expired that they replaced my screen with USED parts. I had been told that it would be as good as the mac store. The insinuated that the repair would be with new parts like the apple store. But the screen they installed was used. I found this out after i took my macbook into the apple store and they verrified my screen had been replaced by a used screen. So be very very very very very careful if you choose to use this repair store - or understand that you will be paying for used gear in the repairs. read more
