Unfortunately, my recent experience following a procedure has been extremely disappointing and concerning. What was expected to be a routine recovery of approximately three weeks turned into a six-month wound after the procedure. The procedure attended by PA Andrea Margaret Williams allegedly did not include sufficient stitches, which resulted in an open wound in my foot requiring ongoing treatment. Initially, I was informed that the wound care resulting from the procedure would be covered and monitored appropriately. However, without warning, I was later informed that they would no longer be covering my care expenses, despite the wound being directly related to the procedure. I am now left with ongoing medical bills. While being told this situation is considered a "complication." It is frustrating and confusing to understand why coverage for my medical care began, only to be discontinued later, especially when the condition appears to stem directly from the procedure itself.

As no answer was forthcoming from his office, I consulted several MDs and Pharmacists about a second package of Prednisone. All indicated that it should not cause any problems whatsoever. I told Janssen I had a second package of the declining dose of Prednisone, and he hit the ceiling, giving several questionable reasons why I should have dared to do this - but the underlying message I heard was that he did not approve it in advance, and right or wrong, he was in charge. To me, that explained why so many staff members were fully controlled by this surgeon - this explained why the post-op nurse took ages to get his permission to address my extreme abdominal pain. Fear. He then accused me of not paying my bill for the procedure - I have three insurances, and all had paid, in sequence, the amount due for the procedure. He was paid and apparently made up the lack of payment as a way of ameliorating his bruised ego. His ego was gargantuan! He seems to care more about his trips to Europe to teach than his current patients. At one point in his career, he was undeniably great, perhaps to the point where it is fair to say that he was without equal - on that issue there is no question. Because of his superior skill and previous record of success, I selected him for my surgery. It seems his once unassailable standing had gone to his head. He was no longer a patient's surgeon - his ego took him elsewhere - there is a time to act and a time to consider options. Perhaps for him, the latter is the best solution. Fortunately, the Thornton Hospital had an exceptional interventional radiology department leader, Dr. Grzybowski. After several images and his placement of a drain, the pressure caused by the fluid build-up in my abdomen was almost fully relieved, and to the best of my recollection, my fever returned to normal. This DO in the Interventional Radiology department was the best highlight during my hospital visit - he clearly and unambiguously deserves a five out of five stars the highest rating Yelp permits. This physician cared about the patient! Also, to be fair, all the nurses I encountered on the floor were professional and collegial. The abbreviated first visit, a short second visit, uneasy staff at the hospital, his ignoring his patient in both the pre-surgery period and in post-op without so much as a "hello". Most concerning were the issues in post-op, especially when an otherwise stoic patient gave a pain level of ten out of ten, no follow-up until approximately three months after surgery and then outrage that I sought alternative opinions for Prednisone when I could not get a timely answer from him or his office, and finally making up a story about not paying my bill when all three of my insurances covered payment. In my observation he compiled quite a laundry list based on ignoring patient concerns, either directly or indirectly. I am sorry to say that this once super-star surgeon now fails at the most important step - rapport with the patient. It took an interventional radiologist to find the need and place a drain to relieve abdominal pain. The chronic back pain, if anything, is no better today, some 15 months after surgery, than it was before his surgery. Dear reader, do whatever you think best, but I, for one do not recommend this once great healer. Regrettable, unfortunate, but true. Perhaps his world-wide trips to teach the valuable technical lessons he has accumulated in his life as an exceptional spine surgeon serve a greater purpose. As a tutor to top-shelf surgeons, the general level of spine surgery performed by his students would rise and instructing other very bright surgeons would likely satisfy his seeming need to be in full control of all situations. This is likely now his first best destiny. He would no longer need to provide full attention to his patients, intentionally or not, and staff previously within his sphere of influence no longer would have any concern about repercussions for contacting him regarding his patients. A win-win situation, or so it seems. As I began, but here with an intentional misquote, To every living thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. There is a time to perform with all efforts focused on patient welfare, and a time to evaluate where your mountain of skills can be placed to best use as a global teacher. Perhaps that time has come for your personal evaluation of time with patients and the fact that some staff are fearful to reach out to you. You still have great value to the medical community, but perhaps your glory days now mandate your review, remember, "All glory is fleeting".

That should have told me he was unsure of his work. Well here it is 7 years later my leg was so crooked it caused my back to hurt. Luckily I found a wonderful doctor by the name of Aaron Baxter out of Platte valley medical center. He did a revision on my knee my leg is nice and straight now and the replacement is the correct size. Dr Baxter said it was not only crooked but it was too big.

They should probably rename the place from Cara Mia to "we don't Cara about You-a". The short version is I had an appointment, they sent me a reminder text at 3:38 the day before the appointment, and I showed up and they tell me my appointment was canceled the day before...yeah, the day they sent the reminder text. THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ME THEY CANCELLED- I learned that at the counter. At first they just said I wasn't in their system. When i showed them the confirmation text that had their businesses name, their address, the appointment time and date, along with the providers name and credentials, they then said it had been cancelled. Now, I don't know (yes I do!!), shouldn't one expect a profuse apology for canceling your needed healthcare and wasting your time, and not notifying you of the cancellation? And then, I don't know, try to reschedule with you or potentially call to see if other clinics in their network (they are in a wider network) could get you in especially given there was a serious health concern? NOPE! The staff chose to argue with me about whether I had an appointment. So now we know the management either never trained their staff on appropriate responses or the staff were insolent and refused orders...yeah, basically it's on the management. There is much more to the story (continued below) but you get the gist. For entertainment purposes you can keep reading this if you want. The reason given for the (un-notified) cancellation ended up being that they didn't take my insurance. But wait! - the plot thickens. I wanted to do a full body scan for skin cancer and had been to this place before so called and they scheduled me. As you may know it can take weeks or months to get an appointment. I get a call as the appointment was approaching that it was canceled because they didn't take my insurance (yeah, it gets SO much worse for Mia No Cara about You-a). I had an app scan of a mole that indicated it should be looked at as soon as possible (it said moles like that may develop into melanoma). So I had a call from THEM saying that they NOW ACCEPTED my insurance! Because of the urgency I accepted their first available workable date. Consider this businesses level of incompetence: they CONFIRMED they took my insurance, they sent me reminder texts and I confirmed my appointment, they CANCELLED with NO notice because they said they DIDN'T take my insurance, and they offered ZERO assistance to help the customer with a serious health concern. Ask yourself would you ever use them? No? Good, spare yourself heartache.

Quick and efficient, but also thorough. Wijy asked and listened to me explain my issues, and then adjusted my upper back and C2 on both sides. Very smooth. Range of motion and pain were immediately improved, but still a bit of pain. He also scraped some of the neck muscles to loosen them up...a real and unexpected bonus! I had seen a neurologist at this clinic back in 2013 after suffering a series of mini-strokes…read more Recently I had some concerns that made me want to get a check up and my primary doctor sent a referral to their office. When I called to make an appointment I was advised that Dr. Stambuck had left their practice and moved to Kaiser and that it was sort of a "policy" that none of their neurologists on staff "would accept new patients with existing histories". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was being told they wouldn't even give me a consultation just because I had a previous history of neurological related issues. They didn't even ask my name or review my history before advising this. It was just a "Sorry, we won't help you". To me, that is unprofessional and unethical.

In the past 15+ years, I have seen at least 10 neurologists for migraine management in four…read moredifferent states. Without any doubt, Dr. Trevor McNutt is the cream of the crop when it comes to neurology. a) He didn't pull the "oh, so that's what the OTHER doctor said, but I need to run all my own tests (which will cost you $$$) because I don't believe that you know your own health history/I am smarter than your doctor. Instead, he read my questionnaire with my history, asked a few questions, and really engaged me about my own health. b) While I have no idea about his personality in general, he seems nice, genuine and not full of hot air like many doctors. He gets you from the waiting from himself, writes his own prescriptions, talks to you like a person. Plus, his front desk staff is always awesome, timely, and seems happy. That's a good sign. c) He is creative. I've been through pretty much every barrage of meds for my migraines; both preventative and as they happen. However, he busted out not one, but TWO treatments that I haven't tried before. One didn't work, and the other (botox for chronic migraine) cut my migraines from 3-5 a week to about 1 a week. Talke about results. d) He'll go to bat for you with insurance (or at least his office staff will). Very few places have made me feel confident that they have my best interests (health and financial at heart). e) I'm usually in an out in less than 20, more if I have more questions. Little to no time in the waiting room, and since you seem him directly (rather than a slough of PAs), it seems less like a time trap, and more getting stuff done and getting out. I'd be happy to recommend him to any migraine sufferers; he really did change my life.
