He started going through it and instantly called out about 8-10 small fixes and 1 bigger one that could help it work. He also pointed out that we had the wrong connector cables (thanks wasted Amazon purchase). He had it for a couple of days, called me back with a quote and timeline to complete the work. He then called me back a week earlier than expected and said it was good to go. When I came in to pick it up, he spent about an hour with me showing all the things we did but also all the functionality the player had that we didn't know about. He answered about 10 (what's this piece for) dumb without getting annoyed with me or kicking me out, which he was probably well within his rights to do at that point. I brought it home, hooked it up and it's been kicking butt for 2 days now. We can't stop playing music in the house and it's probably time for a used record store run. All in all, perfect service and communication. I cant speak for a couple negative reviews on here expect that this guy is old school. He does what he says he'll do and in return I think he expects his customers to actually reciprocate communication and transparency with him ie be on time, understand that all these machines are 60 years old and nuanced, etc. Thanks Dr. Dan! He said that he s driving for over two hours and I told him we were ~50 miles away I told him I could afford his diagnostic fee through the shell messager and that I did not expect him to not request this but that I do not carry that much cash and I offered him as much cash as I had to begin the job but they the rest he requested ($300+) would have to come from my care providers office and that I might not chose to negotiate any more with out them my handy capable condition has insisted that I might not be in full mental faculties to handle heated negotiations over money but that it is healthy to have interactions with business to get better I assured him that I worked give him 2 bags to take my machine but that I would like to have a buisness card or documentation that I had left him the machine with a little bit of an idea on the amont for his hours of labor. I showed up, walked in and was greeted by an extremely friendly and outgoing man named DeVontae. He didn't have my lens in stock but ordered it to show up the next day after 3pm. I paid and left. Super easy. The following day I walked in and met with Izzy who was also helpful and friendly. He took my phone and got right to work on it. He replaced the lens then put it in a small pressure vice so the adhesive could dry properly. Thirty minutes after walking in, I walking out with a fixed and functioning phone/camera. We thought the power source had burned. Last Saturday I took it to ubreakifix, and talked to Jacob. I told him what happened, he took it to the back. Two minutes later, he brought it back and said that he had drained the power out, turned it on, and the computer was working. I was absolutely surprised by how quickly he had figured out the issue, and by his honesty. He could have said that some special part was needed, kept it for a few days, and charged me a fortune.
