Several months back we moved into a new condo and the garage door kept "sticking" when going up, and one of our remotes wasn't working. We were a little concerned seeing that we just moved in, and I recently met Jason of Dependable Garage Door Service. He came over and tested to see if the unit just needed to reset/re-sync with it, but the remote ended up being bad. I purchased a new remote which he had on his truck. Delighted to have a functional garage door again! We bought a garage door with a Wayne-Dalton i-drive motor around 10 years ago at a Fall Home & Garden Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. #lessonslearnedthehardway It broke down, of course, after only 2 years, (in which we may have opened it a dozen times) and, naturally, we could not find a way to get it fixed under the warranty. Just had Jason out today to give me an estimate, and ended up having him do the work as well - I couldn't be happier. I had gotten an estimate from another company, but they recommended a new door because the top panel was cracked pretty badly at the point where it connected to the arm. They were very nice, and the quote was reasonable, but it was more than I could do at the moment. Jason never recommended a new door and assured me that he could fix my existing door, and that he could do it in about an hour. I recently purchased a special offer from Living Social San Diego for a tune-up and roller replacement. Called Jason and made an appointment. He was right on time and performed the service quickly and professionally and pointed out how my 11 year old springs were worn out and recommended replacing them. The motor was doing all the work with no help from the springs and I was lucky I hadn't cracked the top panel. After he installed the new springs adjusted the tension, the door was balanced and very easy to lift by hand while being disconnected from the screw trolley. Jason did a great job on my garage door. First time I called him to have the spring replaced 4 yrs ago (replaced twice by another company in one year time prior to that) and up to now its still intact. A week ago my garage door was acting crazy - it won't close properly. He assessed the entire garage door from motor to hinges. It turns out the motor is broken. We decided to have it replaced since it is 16 yrs old - and broken. Now we have a new motor and can monitor the garage door if it's closed or opened through a phone app. He also replaced some broken hinges. The price is reasonable and we're happy with the result. He came out same day as I called, in fact a few minutes early, and figured out the problem pretty quickly. He made some adjustments to the tension springs and lubricated and checked all parts of the garage door to make sure it was operational and functioning as best as possible.
