He wanted me to ask the other company questions to justify their lower price (i.e., cycle count, quality of hardware). He actually told me nobody else would be lower and to take the other bid. Cons: He didn't do any diagnosis and asked what the other company said. He then quoted me more than double the other bid. Then after I said it was high and he asked what they bid, he lowered his price 43%, which was still higher (presumably because it was a higher cycle count, but that was not mentioned.) Later in the day, I got texted two bids. One at the standard cycle count, which matched the price that I said the other company bid (they actually bid less and I told him the wrong amount). The second bid they included was the price he quoted in person with a higher cycle count. In the end, the other company had a 3 year warranty vs. 1 year with this company. Had this business been more competitive up front, they may have earned my business. However, they ended up coming across as untrustworthy. When I contacted the other company to ask about cycle count and hardware, they weren't even interested in trying to upsell me, which sold me on their trustworthiness.

Our house has a huge garage door and so soon after buying our house we had to replace the opener (motor had burned out). Called around and Brett at Garage Door Giant had the best price and he could make it to our house within a few hours. Last month one of the springs broke on the door (again, huge door) and because it's a specialty door he drove out here to measure and make sure he ordered the right parts. This would likely make the new opener unable to function, and garage door springs are not safe for a DIYer to mess with, so I was stuck and decided to call in the professionals. I reached out to a few businesses on Yelp, and... Pros: They responded quickly to my Yelp request with an actual estimate (only company who did) They stuck to their estimated schedule, arriving right in the middle of it Devin is an awesome guy and a super skilled installer who knows what he's doing and more importantly: cares about doing it well! He was really friendly, worked quickly (took about 90 mins altogether for everything), took care of all the little details, cleaned up the area when he was done, and walked me through all the operations of our new door opener at the end. We chatted a bit as he worked and had a pretty good time while still getting everything done blazingly fast. Easy Open accepted Zelle for payment which is super convenient for those of us who never have cash and don't know where their checkbook is! Cons: None, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone who asks. I'll definitely be calling them when we have any more garage door related needs!

After discussing with him that the original hinges were a bit old and should also be replace I decided to have this done in 2 weeks. We had our original garage door re-skinned about 6 months ago with Eichler paneling and the handyman did a horrible job - I had to add some extra 2x2 to help secure it - I asked James' opinion and he said he could fix it - we decided to get it redone - 2nd appt - James showed up with his helper and after about 3 hours we had a new skinned door with new hinges and adjusted - open programmed - done and done Great service and just an overall great guy !!!
