Adrian showed up, quickly assessed and addressed the problem caused by an automatic door locking mechanism not releasing. this caused the door to twist and side rail to bend. Thought the side rail would need to be replaced but he was able to straighten things out. My 30 year old door works again although the rollers will need to be replaced before too long... After PGDS lead technician Leo came by the following week, we decided to replace the hardware (springs) that was installed by "the other company." Precise Garage Doors Services handled this unique situation with professionalism and Leo went the extra mile by removing the labor on the spring installation and tuning up the garage door / replacing some bearings. As much as I didn't want pay for a second set of springs in less than one year, to not have to deal with garage door issues or the other company was well worth the cost to just be done and move on. After a quick look, the technician immediately said he needed to "open the spring" to determine pricing because there are different types and lengths. When I asked for at least a rough estimate first, he became defensive and told me I "should have asked for that," which felt dismissive and unhelpful. I declined to proceed and asked him to leave. About 10-15 minutes later, he actually rang my doorbell again and said his "boss" could do the job for $300. At that point, I no longer trusted the process or the pricing. I had Precise fix my door in the past and put on a new spring, rails, etc. A few months later, the door wouldn't close as if there was something tripping the sensor. Precise sent a tech, Ben L., out to diagnose and fix the issue. He said that, because it was a heavy door, it was vibrating the rails and tripping the sensors. He adjusted the spring and added another bracket to one rail to stabilize the sensor. It's now working fine. It didn't take long at all and I wasn't charged. This is what great service looks like. The cable along the left side of my garage had come undone and the technician charged me almost $300 to fix it and tried to upsell me wheels for $250. He also said my motor was shot and needed to be replaced and quoted me $1600. When I balked at $1600 he said he also had $1200 & $800 options. I told him I would think about it and he left. I reached out to another company and when that technician came out, he said the belt just needed to be replaced (my home warranty covered it) and that my motor was NOT blown or in need of replacement. He also quoted me $89 for the wheels. I would NOT recommend Precise. How can a technician state that a motor was blown and no longer fixable, quote $1600 just to find out from another company that the motor was NOT blown and charge a lot less for wheels?
