So much leg room and double thickness arm rests which lift up like they do on trains. Very nice indeed. There is a little bar there too.

They sell a variety of organic snacks and drinks which you can take into the cinema with you, in addition to the drinks which you can buy from the bar upstairs (a big plus of this place is being able to take beer and wine in to the cinema) The chairs are extremely comfortable- far more comfortable than usual- and are worth the extra few pounds that you spend on getting in.

Unfortunately the seat I was seating in was on the back row and was worn so much it felt almost like I was sitting on a wood plank. For the ladies who always get stuck waiting in the queue for one of two ladies toilets at cinemas, there are plenty of toilets and room to do makeup. The staff a very friendly and went out of their way to help me. There is also free wifi, yay! Over all a pretty good cinema, but they need to sort out there seating!

The layout is very much the same but the facilities have benefitted from a much needed upgrade like the toilets have been done up, almost all the screens now have premiere seats located at the back. The establishment has decided to get rid of the waffles and replace it with milkshake a instead. Also, they have an array of chocolate bars to add to the shake mixs such as, toffee crisp, malteasers, rollo etc. This is a great addition, especially when you are considering the nice cold drinks to go with the summer films. Additionally, look at your full price receipt brought at the box office as they have been giving out 2 4 1tickets as a nice bonus!

Negative points because of the recent rise in tickets. I remember paying below £7 for several shows once upon a time. That seems like a distant memory now - or perhaps I'm just missing something. Also, for no fault of theirs they have to be penalized because of the lack of pre- and post- movie things to do.

It was reminiscent of the Planet Hollywood Mall except it is [semi]circular. There is a Wetherspoons located on either end (yay!) as well restaurants that specialize in worldly cuisines. I went for the first time to see my favorite boy band, Five, on their reunion tour. A 20,000+ person capacity arena in the center of a "mall" is wild. The arena had great sound, and even though I was in the upper tier stage-left, I had a clear view of the stage. For a first time visitor, it is important to note that the upper tier is very steep. I was only in the 2nd row from the ledge, so I did not have any issues with vertigo/motion sickness. However, I would personally avoid seats near the top because I know I would have issues. There is a separate merch store outside the area to avoid crazy lines once you enter the arena. You can bring small packages and pursues inside but they made others rent a locker to place large packages and jackets. In addition to the arena, there is a smaller venue that was simultaneously hosting a K-Pop concert and the dinner venue for Mamma Mia! I wish I would have arrived when the shops first opened as I could have easily spent an entire day wandering around. If you are visiting London and have the opportunity to see a show at one of the venues, I highly recommend making a day of it!

Do you like your floors sticky and your music loud? If so, The Venue is the place for you!…read more For many years now, The Venue has been a great place to come to watch bands. In actuality, one of THE ONLY reasons to come to New Cross. The building that houses The Venue is actually a pretty grand affair. Aside the sticky floors, the building seems to be well maintained (I have seen a two-man team cleaning the walls early in the evening!). Most of the bands appearing at The Venue are tribute acts, so if you are thinking of going to the top floor to check out tribute versions of ABBA, The Killers or The Prodigy... consult the website to see who will be playing that evening. When on the top floor, you will mingle with a lot of local students and some (fairly young) people swaying in drunken fashion, while your shoes adhere to the floor and your gut gets punched with the low frequencies from the fierce PA system. Great fun in anybody's book! The lower floors house some pretty cool bars which are actually well designed and have a decent enough range of drinks.
