I told A about the situation, so A called B several times on my behalf. That was when A learned that B was dealing with an unexpected family problem. What really impressed me was that A called me almost three times afterward to update me on B's progress. He told me that B was the best person for the job, but if I couldn't wait, he would introduce me to C. So, who was this Mr. A? Mr. James, the owner of Ray's Performance Marine. What touched me most was that James had nothing to gain from helping me. He couldn't repair my boat, and we never did business together. Yet he still took the time to help a stranger and continued to follow up on my behalf. That kind of genuine kindness and selfless dedication is rare. I finally found James who I can say is one of the true honest boat repairman. That is a fact. A minor repair is a minor repair to James. He doesn't turn the minor repair into something else. What I also found is he is so anal about the little things. If he has to replace a throttle cable, he recommends replacing both so that a month later, you have to come back and replace the other. You all know the cost isn't in the parts, it's the labor to tear everything apart. That is how the dishonest repair companies get you. He showed me an $8.00 part that the other company I used should have replaced when they tore my one of my outdrives apart. He said it would have taken them 10 minutes to do the other but they didn't because they knew I would be coming back to replace the other $8.00 part with $1200.00 in labor. James is funny too, he says he doesn't like to see the same customers more than once a year. He says if the work is done right, you should just be getting your annuals done and that's it. He is well known in the So Cal area as he works on some of the top racing boats in the state. Ray's is my #1 company now.

They were friendly, professional, and even cracked a few jokes while explaining exactly what they were going to do and how long the job would take. Their work truck was clean, they were well-organized, and all three technicians were professional and respectful. I left them working in my garage while I went to work, and when I came home a few hours later, everything was finished. The installation was outstanding. My garage was spotless, the brake system looked professionally installed, and all the wiring was neatly hidden inside the trailer frame instead of hanging underneath.
