We spoke to a rep from EHI and explained our problem, and explained that the work performed was not done properly and some important vents had been covered in our crawl space. Someone came out soon after and half heartedly corrected the vent situation, but again we noticed no improvement in the cold floors. After two conversations with a manager and Mr LaHood, no resolution was offered. No follow up contact was ever made. We will never use EHI again, and in my opinion, would not recommend them as a reliable insulation contractor.

I was first turned off by the gruff attitude I received over the phone, and numerous times to call to get any return call. After they Re worked our attic I am glad I did not give up. I could not be happier. I worried about my new roof being cut open to add 8 vents to my ranch home. The guy on the phone did the math with me and explained the codes and how he calculated the number of vents. This team even visited my home spent a lot of time taking pictures measuring, and looking for missing baffels in my attic soffit vents. It turned out we were missing almost everything to do it right. This proposal Engineer spent 45 minutes evaluating everything. Vaulted ceilings in 3 areas of my ranch home. Truly are experts, not just a name, its actually real honest and scientific expert type person. My heating bill in the first 3 months went from 230 per month to 89.00 a month, and the two rooms in front which needed heaters for the grandkids now stays at 68 min to 73 all the time. 8 vents 2 bathroom fans and re designed with proper size hoses 6 inches of blown in installation that from the side looks like my crew cut hair cut. How they got that to be perfect is awesome in itself. 9 vent baffles were installed, sealed all lights and any holes they found My roof vent from Storm Guard roof company had 2 areas where the roof vent went sideways and was never glued down. They repaired it too. Not one detail or little detail was missed. You can trust these people to do it Right. They did it all in 4 hours 15 minutes. I may go for the automatic Attic Fan in 2022 now, I just saved the money for that install in 4 months ROI is easy to justify. Paragon Insulation has done an excellent job for me twice this year. The first time in January, I…read morehad Randy come out to quote attic sealing and insulation. While he was there to provide the quote, he noticed the kitchen floor was really cold (he took off his shoes when he entered the house). He pulled out his thermal camera and we saw the floor was 30-40F! I had noticed that area of the kitchen was cold in winter, but didn't realize it was coming from the floor, where kitchen is cantilevered out past the foundation wall. He proposed insulating the cantilevered area with spray foam, and then said he could insulate all the rim joists in the basement for the same price. A week or so later, while he was onsite doing the insulating, I mentioned I was going to finish the basement later in the year, and expected to use 3 inch foam panels. He suggested using spray foam instead since that would give me a few inches more space in the room. He gave me a price and I said I'd think about it. As I thought about it, I realized getting a few more inches in the room, and also getting a better sealing product would be worth it, and would save me many hours of labor and a lot of material costs. In summer, I started work on the basement project, and once I had the framing up and electrical roughed in, I called (now July) to schedule the spray foam. Randy honored the price from January, scheduled the job quickly, and it looks great! Something I especially appreciate about Randy and Paragon is that the guy who quotes the job actually does the job; it's not some sales guy, it's the owner who quotes AND does the work! Because of that, any questions get answered and you know exactly who is accountable for quality and completion. I did get other quotes for the attic, and Paragon was very competitive. I really appreciated Randy's suggestions, and they did not feel like a sales pitch; it felt like I was getting good options to consider that would solve a problem I had.

One night the heat went out and the indoor temp dropped to 49 degrees, so that sealed the deal, we needed better insulation. They also encapsulated the crawl space with spray foam. Turns out there were mice living down there that we had no idea about. One even fell on a worker while they were pulling out the old stuff. Made sure to tell my wife who was on the fence originally about having this done. Big difference since then.
