Dr. Taylor is extremely thorough when giving an all over skin cancer check. I brought a list of a dozen freckles/moles/pimples that I wanted her to look at and she methodically went through each and every one. When one looked like a pre-squamous cell, she froze it right then and there and went to the next item in my list. This way nothing was overlooked or fell through the cracks. When she was done with my list, she provided an all over check of her own, measuring, having her assistant take notes, sometimes pictures. I've spent a lot of time in the sun growing up near the Jersey Shore and as a daily lap swimmer. One tiny pink pimple turned out to be a basil cell carcinoma, confirmed through a biopsy. Since it was on my jawline, she recommended MOS surgery, where the surgeon will remove tissue around the area then before suturing runs the tissue to the lab to check for clean borders. If the borders are not clean, they remove more. This type of procedure is best for the face where you want to remove the least amount of tissue needed to achieve clean (no cancer) borders. Dr. Tayler referred me to OHSU Dermatology - Dr. Lettenberger performed the surgery and did a fantastic job. Cancer removed and 6 weeks later, scar hardly noticeable. The office is located in the third floor of Lloyd Center Mall off the foodcort area. If you come out of Macy's, make a right and her office is halfway down hall on the right. The office staff, and paperwork they sent, didn't explain this so I was a bit late for my appointment. Office itself is clean, as is the waiting room. All the people who worked there were kind and efficient. After seeing a dermatologist in Hillsboro for 18 years, I'm so happy to find a really good dermatologist closer to where I live. Since it was my first appointment, there was a three month wait. Wear sunscreen! But now that I am a patient, it will be easier to get appointments should a situation arise. Note: OR has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the country! Wear sunscreen everyday! In January 22, I saw a PA there. He diagnosed eczema. I'm 60. Who gets eczema at 60? So I used the steroid cream and cetaphil and it got so bad that I would wake scratching my arms with blood all over my fingernails. It traveled up my arms to my upper arms and shoulders. I went back to the same guy (but never again) and he said that I should continue to cetaphil and he said it did not look better but as the cream had reduced the itching, he said for sure it was eczema. Did not take a sample, did not use a wood's lamps. Nothing. Just his expert opinion. Now it's on my shoulders, chest, back, neck, and starting in my hair. At age 60 who gets eczema that steroids make worse and that itches until I bleed from scratching? I canceled the follow up and I have been treating it with OTC antifungals but it's all over my upper torso and it's out of control now so I went to Legacy urgent care today and was given nothing for the pruritis and nothing for the rash. Also the urgent care didn't have a wood's lamp? What's up with that? And the PA wouldn't ask his attending for help? What's up with that? Treated very rudely yet again within a 6 month time frame. Will not return to this office. Very covid phobic and to hell with you as a patient if you haven't been vacinated. Started seeing in 2018 for sun damage and skin tags with feezing. Had no problems with her or staff until the pandemic hit. read more

As Yung Joc so rhythmically stated, "Meet me in the mall, it's going down..." Dr Taylor's office is right by the food court of the Lloyd Center Mall. Almond chicken sample, Orange Julius sample, skin sample. I felt a little weird sitting in only a gown with only blinds between me and the general public with the tunes of N'Sync floating into the room. However, Dr. Taylor and her staff are awesome. They spend a good amount of time in the exam room explaining and performing procedures that you feel you got your money's worth when the bill arrives. The office is quite nice and the exam rooms are extremely clean and organized. Dr. Taylor is a great dermatologist, even though the path to her office is a strange one. read more

Dr. Taylor is a good dermatologist, but friendly PSA to patients in larger bodies: be aware that Dr. Taylor is not Health at Every Size-informed, does not provide weight-neutral care, and will push weight loss unless you tell her not to bring up your weight. Even having that conversation with her was difficult and triggering for me as someone in ED recovery, but I'm glad she respected my wishes and that I only need to see her a few times to get a wart removed. I love Dr. Taylor and her very friendly and helpful team! I have been seeing Dr. Taylor for several years and highly recommend her. Dr. Taylor is knowledgeable, adaptive to my needs, and friendly. While she occasionally runs a few minutes behind, I am forgiving of this as I know why this happens - it's because Dr. Taylor cares and wants to fully address a patient's concerns, which is what she does with me when it becomes my turn. Another thing I love about Dr. Taylor is that she is willing to troubleshoot skin issues and flex when the game plan isn't working as expected - no shame or hassle, I can trust that Dr. Taylor is in my corner. Another secret in Dr. Taylor's treasure chest is her Billing Manager, Rylee, who was super patient and excellent with helping me navigate the mysteries of insurance vs. self pay options. I called Rylee twice in two days, once to inquire on rates and a second time to correct my own ineptitude at navigating complicated insurance. Rylee didn't miss a beat, didn't get fussed by my numerous calls, and even sent me a how-to sheet to help me understand insurance better by email later. Pro Tip: Check the self-pay rates with Rylee first because mind-boggingly enough, sometimes if you pay in cash up front this is cheaper than insurance. Her office is tucked upstairs in a corner of Lloyd Center. Although initially I thought this was an unusual location for a medical office, the whole wing in that corner of Lloyd Center is medical offices - so she is in good company and on the mall directory. AND over the years, I have come to appreciate the 'easy' parking (!!) that is Lloyd Center in the day time, compared to other more popular parts of Portland. read more

Dr Taylor was abrupt and to the point. I kind of appreciate that but also felt like an inconvenience to her during my first visit. She's a straight shooter, zero small talk and will take 5 minutes to evaluate your needs and you're done. I feel pretty neutral about our treatment plan moving forward. The receptionist was TERRIBLE and so shockingly rude. I felt judged and not supported during every interaction- phone call to schedule, assistance with my prescriptions, asking questions at check out, etcetera. She told me "I'm too busy to do that". Seeing her for one visit made much more sense, than paying Kaiser $200/month for a year, and yet never making an appointment because I couldn't afford the co-pay! I don't have very many skin concerns, but I'm almost 26 (insurance will run out) so I am making all those appointments I should have made a long time ago. I didn't know what to expect from a dermatologist. I wanted a full body scan and a look at a couple concern spots. My whole appointment was like 15 to 20 minutes long, pretty short. I learned a lot about my skin in that short time frame, which I am grateful for, but I don't feel like I got the help I was looking for. I asked a couple questions and was shut down - like go do your own research. The whole thing felt rushed and like me being there was a nuisance. I have one spot that needs monitoring, so I guess we'll see if service improves in 5 months. read more

She quickly made the correct diagnosis of my unusual skin condition while ruling out other possible causes. The treatment prescribed enabled me to recover from this condition. This review is for the completely incompetent administrative staff who works there and, therefore, for Dr Taylor who must think their treatment of patients and lazy processes are okay because no matter how much we complained, we were ignored. As a doctor, she was satisfactory. Only spends maybe 5 minutes with you and is pretty abrupt, but she was personable and answered questions. But as an office, the place is a mess. * First, they refuse to check and see what is and isn't covered by insurance in the office - they literally have the codes and rather than pick up the phone to check coverage with insurance they tell you to go home and do it yourself (meaning, you can't just schedule a procedure because it takes a hell of a lot longer for a patient to get a response back than a doctor's office who can not only verify coverage, but do the basic math since they know how much they bill for procedures and we as patients do not). Example: after having a tiny skin cancer removed and having a scar, a year later, the size of a quarter still raised, Dr Taylor said *I* should call insurance to see if they could remove it for me. God forbid her administrative staff lift a finger! My husband has had equal amounts of trouble with the staff getting prescriptions called in and was appalled by how rude they were to him in the office when he went in for his appointment to deal with scalp issues. * Second, even though I had no appointment scheduled nor was told I would need to make a follow up a year and a half after this BCC was removed, the staff left 4 voicemails telling me I needed to come in for a followup. When I responded to them to make an appointment, they actually - rather than check my file first - asked ME what the appointment was for even though they were the ones telling me I needed to come in without ever stating why. * Third, and absolutely the most annoying, they refused to stop the incessant appointment reminders via text and email. l had told them in person and in writing a year ago that these have to stop - seriously, you make an appointment a month in advance and you get not a confirmation but a "reminder" the next day - both via text AND email, then every week until the appointment, then 3 days before, then the day before, including a demand on the text messages to "confirm" the appointment. The one that *I* made with them. I again asked them, in writing, to stop this reminder overload, and they had the nerve to say "we can't, it's the system" and I told them they need to find a way to stop these reminders. I don't care about a reminder call the day before, but I did not give them permission to text or email me, and even though they said they "are required" to do these and they are somehow handcuffed by Dr. Taylor's software and are just helpless to respect a patient's wishes. The great irony? She admitted that there are 3 reminder options they can do - calls, texts, and emails - yet they refused to eliminate the email /text reminders even though it IS possible. So Dr Taylor's staff was choosing to be disrespectful and ignore the patient's wishes. As you can see in other reviews, I'm not the only one to notice the staff's complete disinterest in working with patients. Why have you hired people who don't care about patients to sit at the front desk? Maybe because you don't either, Dr Taylor? I can't imagine any other reason why you'd hire these kind of people and implement processes that clearly show you're only about the money and not about patient care. Why not save even more money and get rid of the staff altogether and let us schedule online (considering you say you have a patient portal that, despite multiple requests, we still haven't been given access to), and put in a button for us to push when we arrive since the front desk clearly could care less about patients? read more

I had a horrible experience here. I came in for something that has a simple solution, that I have been diagnosed with before and have had for my entire life and ended up with a very expensive bill for unnecessary lab tests. I came in for a check up and to get a prescription for steroid cream for my eczema. She took one look at it and said it is something else, which confused me since I have had this since a was a child. She used fear tactics to get me to do a biopsy for something that I already knew I had. She tried to convince me that it wasn't eczema and it was a fungus so she didn't want to prescribe me anything until she knew what it was and to preform a biopsy. I felt pressured and I felt like the whole biopsy thing was rushed. Low and behold, it WAS eczema. Now I have a 360$+ bill from a lab to tell me what I already knew. I will not be coming back here and I don't recommend anyone else to come here either. read more

I am someone who has been struggling with skin problems for many years and went into a new patient exam with many questions regarding my condition. Dr. Taylor allots 15 minutes of time for new and returning patients. Nearing the end of my appointment, I was prompted to stop asking questions and was advised to wait 3 months for the next consultation. After confronting Dr. Taylor about the short appointment slots, she became visibly uncomfortable, began to come up with excuses such as she does not have "unlimited time like naturopathic physicians", then subsequently stormed out of the room.
