The work looks good but the pain and time it cost me isn't worth going back to.

One of the main reasons I chose an all-women's gym was the sense of privacy, exclusivity, and safety that comes with knowing the space is specifically designed for women. Recently, the gym hired a male massage therapist, and the massage room is located within the same area as the gym. For me, that fundamentally changed the environment. It defeats much of the purpose of paying the premium price for an all-women's facility if men are now regularly present in areas where women are working out and receiving services. The gym has also opened a café that leads directly into the gym. Since the café is open to the public, it has brought people into the space who otherwise would not have access to the gym. I've noticed men lingering around the café, which made me increasingly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the coffee hasn't exactly been good enough to make that tradeoff worthwhile. At this point, I have to question whether the owner is more interested in taking women's money than protecting women's safety and preserving the environment that made this gym worth the premium membership price in the first place. That may not be the owner's intention, but that is unfortunately how these changes have made me feel as a member. I understand that a business can evolve and expand its offerings, but if the gym is moving toward a more co-ed experience, I think that should be communicated transparently. The value proposition of an all-women's gym is very different from that of a traditional gym. If the exclusivity and privacy are being diluted, members deserve to know that before paying the premium price. I really enjoyed working with the trainers here, and I would still recommend connecting with some of the personal trainers if you can find a way to work with them independently. There are genuinely great people here. Ultimately, I left because the gym no longer felt like the all-women's space I originally signed up for. I hope the owner seriously considers whether these changes are consistent with the reason women chose this gym in the first place. I also anticipate that the owner's response to this review may emphasize the gym's commitment to women's safety and explain why these changes are supposedly consistent with that mission. I would encourage prospective and current members to look beyond the polished response and consider the actual changes taking place. For me, the issue is not what the stated mission is; it is whether the experience and policies in practice continue to reflect that mission. Unfortunately, my experience has led me to conclude that they no longer do.

She made sure that before she took me downstairs she found someone to cover her at the front desk. About half way through the tour a woman, I'm assuming manager, came over to us holding a laundry basket. Before saying hi or introducing herself she basically scolded the woman giving me the tour saying "who is watching the front desk if you're down here? I'll finish the tour and you can go back upstairs". At that point this manager woman put on a big fake smile and introduced herself to me and then finished the tour. This interaction alone immediately told me this was not the gym for me. It may be a women's only gym but it didn't provide the feeling of women supporting women. The gym itself is honestly, depressing. No windows. No softness. It's a basement with workout equipment. I chose not to return for remainder of the free trial and certainly wouldn't spend $75 a month to go there.

Kathy's teaching style in particular is highly educated but relaxed and hands-on. All of the students were eager to learn in this comfortable environment without judgement or pressure. What makes this even worse is that nothing extra was even done to my face. No additional facials, no advanced treatments, no major add-ons, nothing. I genuinely believed I had far more visits or services included because there is absolutely no logical explanation for four thermal treatments turning into over $1,000 in debt. The lack of transparency and the way women are pressured into financing while already expressing discomfort is disgusting. I specifically voiced feeling uncomfortable in the office, and now I completely understand why. I am already pursuing legal action and reporting this situation because women deserve to know what they are walking into before being financially manipulated like this.
