From the first visit, Dr. Kong was a lifesaver for my dad: * He took the time to review my dad's ER records and explain clearly what was going on with his severely enlarged prostate. * He removed the catheter safely, did a careful voiding trial, and made sure my dad could urinate on his own before letting him leave. * He started the right medications, monitored my dad closely, and set up a logical plan for follow‑up and long‑term management. * He spoke to us with respect and empathy, answered all our questions, and treated my dad as a person, not a number. Long Version: I came to Dr. Wachhorst for a surgical consult in early 2021. I was 29 at the time and had been experiencing debilitating back pain since late 2019. I was an active person and found myself reduced from trail half marathons to ginger walks around the block. I was in a bad place. From the day I met him, Dr. Wachhorst instilled a sense of optimism and hope. He clearly and kindly walked me through my options, giving me his (very logical) perspective but never once pushing me towards one decision or another. I met with three other surgeons but felt most comfortable and confident with him to carry out my microdiscectomy. I would make this decision again a thousand times over. Dr. Wachhorst and his staff are highly competent and made me feel like I was in the best hands. After waking up from my surgery, my pain had entirely vanished. I was even able to go for a mile-long walk the day after. The delicate procedure left me with a 1" scar, which has healed beautifully and is barely detectable. I am now sitting here a little over a year after my procedure, still completely pain-free, writing this long overdue review. Thank you, Dr. Wachhorst, for giving me my life back. As you can see from other reviews in various platforms, he is EXTREMELY impatient - and I mean outside the spectrum! Example: before surgery he would provide maybe 3-4 minutes (I'm not exaggerating) for questions before he gets up and starts walking out to his next patient. Post surgery he'd say "you need to shave the area" but there were so many details missing from that: what to look for, how often, what are the risks, what tools to use, which area is important, etc etc. Literally one sentence and he's out the door! So the problems resurfaced, and only after we transitioned to another doctor we were able to control the issue. I should've researched more and that's on me - but if you're reading this trust me, even if this is the only review do yourself a favor and find another doctor, one that will actually provide you with the necessary information before and after surgery.

Everything was explained clearly before it was done and there was absolutely no pain or discomfort. The lidocaine gel numbed the area beforehand where probe was inserted. I cannot emphasize enough that Doctor takes time to explain and is a good listener too! A few weeks back I had the opposite experience with another Urologist at the same Mtn. View location who dismissed the problem I had, arguing that it didn't exist and it was probably only a UTI. I left that appmt feeling despondent and told my Primary care, who took me seriously and made an immediate referral to Dr. Seufert. If you are looking for someone who is friendly, professional and diligent to find whatever problem you have, he will dig (pardon the pun) deep enough and you will know with certainty what your diagnosis is. He is already referring me for further assessment for an MRI. I was seen due to Red blood cells in my urine lab tests several times, which are not a UTI. The prep time for a cystoscopy and all the questions from the nurse take about 15 mins. but the actual procedure took maybe 5 mins., during which time Dr. Seifert tells you what he is seeing on the monitor. My test involved looking up urethra into the bladder. My close friend who is also my caregiver was able to sit in during the procedure and watch everything on the monitor, which was not visible to me since it was above my head. Since you are covered with sheets, etc. you will still have modesty. Dr. Seufert has excellent bedside manner, and guaranteed to put you at ease! The photo of him on here does not do him justice, he is better looking than the photo!
