If you are looking for a place for a good massage, this is NOT it. If you are looking for a place to get a happy ending, then this is your spot. My wife and I rarely get a chance to get away for a self care day with little ones so I was really looking forward to nice, relaxing massage. That's not what I got unfortunately. Things started off fine but the masseuse didn't seem to have a very good technique. Other places I've been there seems to be a flow to things. She was all over the place. When she had finished massaging my back and turned me over to my front side is when she offered "something extra." I declined and after that the rest of the massage got even worse. I could tell she was mad that I declined and she wasn't going to make money off "extra services." Once things were done, I offered a tip. She honestly didn't really earn it for the poor service but I was just trying to get out of there at that point. After giving her the tip, she looked at the money and started complaining about how much tip I gave her! Wow. You give me a crappy massage and just because I declined your happy ending now you are going to give me a hard time about how much I tipped you? Couldn't believe it. I was so overwhelmed after being evacuated from a severe storm in a nearby town. I needed some stress and physical support. Updating my review. This has been my go to place for almost 4 years now and barring 1 or 2 incidents here and there, this is by far the best place for me. The masseuse here (specially Yo-yo/ Jenny) are super friendly and are able to customize my massage specific to the area of concern for that visit. If there's one thing I would like to change, it's that $3 charge for using a card. It's been years since we have all moved out of it. For a $60 massage, I rest think they can cut some slack on a card fee! read more

The massage was decent. The vibe is killed through the workers talking to each other through the walls and you can hear nearby people in other rooms. But the thing that I hated the most was the way they demanded extra tip. They pretty much wouldn't let me leave unless I gave them and extra $5. There better places to in my opinion. read more

I started to go to this place since early this year, the place is clean, the owner is very friendly and welcome. For therapists, I only tried two female therapists before, they are good and friendly, skills are good, not too strong or too soft. It's easy to find parking here and I like the fact that they accept PPO insurance. Overall, good experience here. read more

I hate to write a bad review but what a terrible experience I had today. Went in because I saw that they took fsa (flex spending) but probably had the worst massage I've ever had. I think I walked out in worse shape than going in. A bad massage is a bad massage, but this stops in the middle to ask if I'm going to tip and how much. I was like wth? I thought 20% was reasonable for a good massage but at this point I didn't want to continue my massage but told her that I would decide at the end. She then rushed the already poor massage. Ended 10 minutes early. Told me she was done expecting me to get up... at that point I asked her to leave so I can put some clothes on. As soon as I walk out she yells at me... "tip!" Which I left in the room of 15%. She should've been happy I left any tip at all. I'm sure this isn't something that happens all the time but what a horrendous experience. Definitely not going back. Front desk was not friendly, who was also my masseuse. She took 5 breaks about 3-5 mins long each. (One break was to get clean hot towels and the other 4 were to talk to other people and on the phone) so i was expecting that she would make up for those massaging time lost but she didnt. I got there at 3:20 (my time on the sign-in sheet) and she was done massaging by 4:20, right on the dot. The place was really loud. I visited this establishment two weeks back because I wasn't feeling well and needed some relaxation. I opted for cupping instead of a massage to help relieve the tension I was feeling in my body. The lady therapist was decent and she did her job well the only thing I didn't like about her were her chunky platforms that you could hear her every step. I usually don't go to get foot massages because I am ticklish. The last one I had several years ago at a different massage place, I was laughing so hard and making the masseuse laugh because I was so ticklish (I almost peed my pants and fell off the chair. I could not wait for massage to be over. I even made a complete ass of myself because it was at the mall and everyone walking by could see). But I digress. Today, I needed a serious foot massage very badly. I sucked up my fear of foot massages and dropped in to Hometown Health Spa during my lunch hour and they took me in right away. Short review: I walked in late on a Monday evening and I got a really, really good "foot massage" from Isabel. It's a great value for the price, and I'll definitely be back. Long review: I had had a rough day hunched over the computer and needed a massage but didn't want to spend $70. I came here with slightly low expectations after reading a couple of the Yelp reviews but chose it anyway since a) it's so close to my house and b) the price is right. I was very pleasantly surprised! I think that one star review is a little harsh. The only Chinese foot massages I've gotten before were at Foot Envy in Los Altos, so that's where I'll draw my comparisons. This place is only a quarter of the size, and not as fancy, maybe a smidgeon less clean. The chairs at Hometown are a little older and squeakier, not quite as luxurious, but they were more comfy for my low back. I like the bucket for the foot soak at Hometown much better. It's round and deeper and doesn't remind me of a cat's litter box. The massage itself was very nice. I am a glutton for a foot rub, and she could have rubbed my feet all night long. When she got to that tender painful spot on my inner calf, I asked her to go more softly, and she immediately lightened her touch. The pressure was just right for the rest of the massage. She sighed when she got to my rock hard shoulders -- I can't blame her -- but instead of giving up, at the end of the massage, she had me sit back up in the chair and then worked on them for another 5 minutes or so, after already having kneaded them with her elbow when I was face down. Overall, I felt much, much better afterwards. Do not come here if you are looking for a silent massage. One thing I like about Hometown is that the employees seem like happy people, unlike Foot Envy, where everyone looks pretty miserable all the time. These ladies were whispering, giggling, and chatting amongst themselves here and there, which didn't bother me at all, because I was so relaxed from the massage. (And hey, I'd much rather get a massage from a smiling happy person than a silent unhappy person.) Here I wanted to give a good tip. At Foot Envy, I always felt like I had to because I had the sense that the employees were in some sort of prison. Overall, I feel that I got a good value for my money. Was it as amazing as a hot stone massage from Cara at Spirit of Health? No, but you can't beat the convenience and price for the quality of the massage. read more

Every experience has been mediocre at best in terms of massage, but they talk constantly and loudly to each other in their language (even when you get a body massage in one of the private rooms..they talk through the walls), every massage I have had has had multiple interruptions; to answer the phone, great other customers, text or just plain disappear for far too long. I was suffering from really bad shoulder pain... i think it is from the nature of my work, as I am always at my desk on a computer. So i have been taking help from a lot of yelpers near my work place. I found this with fairly low #reviewss, wanted to try it out as it is on my way to the gym. I was warmly greeted and taken in by a receptionist (who was fluent in english). I walked in for an hour massage (which is standard) and paid in full in advance. The receptionist assisted me till the massage room and was asked to undress and lay on the massage bed. The room was neat and had clean sheet of towels and sheets. The light was low and had some sutle music on. When the masseuse came in, I told her my back shoulder issues and she worked on it for 40 mins and the remaining 20 overall. I am soooo glad that i walked in. I feel so much better. My masseuse's name was LULU and she was sweet. She freq asked about how the pressure was. She did not use elbow which was great. She used her palms and finger to smoothen out my knots. The reason I gave it 4 stars because of the noise level. Lot of people were talking and even my masseuse did it a couple of times which is an annoyance factor for me. Overall, for the price and the pain I was in...i felt like I got my money's worth!! Massage is above average. It's $50 an hour, avg cost so I try to come here at least once month to releive my lower back pains. They do back walk that really helps. Therapists and front desks are very friendly. Only cons I have with place is it tends to be very very noisy as lady therapists would talk to each other across multiple rooms and sometimes yell (in Mandarin). And they would cook/microwave food at back and the soy sauce smell would blanket place. There was a time I had to come back to office and I smelled like a Peking duck dish according to my Chinese colleague. read more

The staff is very friendly and willing to please. However, none of them are actually trained in massage therapy. The massages are ok, and certainly relaxing. I actually ended my session in the middle, and left it was that bad. I paid in advance for 30 foot reflexology massage then 60 minute body massage. The foot treatment was consisted of me sitting my feet in a plastic bag lined wood bucket in an old lounge chair covered in an old towel (not a massage chair either). The girl continued her treatment by sitting there on her stool talking to her friend in whatever language while I soaked and tried to ignore the loud noise of other people coming and going. Tonight Mac daddy o with his girls came in singing like he was Johnny Gill. LMAO. Some oil was then rubbed on and she proceed to use her thumb to do the one and only move she knew- which is painful and consists of deep pressure applied at the base of the interior calf and then deeply slide up that muscle runs along the calf. She started her point so low she could have triggered labor - had I been pregnant. The paper thin walls I would have to endure if I stayed for massage was NOT gona happen. I asked for a refund and he kindly returned it. Bounce. If you have never had a real massage in your life maybe you love this place because it's cheap. If you have ever sat in the massage chair at Brookstone- you have had a more skilled massage- that felt good. read more

I came here on a weekday early in the afternoon for a foot massage after having something at Subway right next door. They were great at accommodating me at such short notice and then I realized why: most of the staff was just sitting around and speaking loudly in Chinese. Although I had asked for a foot massage, only 5 minutes out of the 30 minutes was the actual foot massage, and it wasn't even that great. By the time she had gotten to my feet, she was already losing it, not that there was much strength to begin with. She kept trying to speak to me in Chinese, and I pretended not to understand so as to avoid joining the verbal war. All in all, these two stars are for accommodating me with such short notice and helping me get through the rest of that day at such a reasonable price. I tipped her a good amount as she was focused on the massage and not so much the loud conversation in the background, and she was very pleased thanking me several times and asking me to come back.
