Been here 3 times and each time it has been different for me. 1st time I was rushed, not really helped with any questions I had. Second time everyone was very attentive. There was a female who seemed of importance due to the high level of assistance I recieved. At my every turn someone was there to greet me and ask and answer any question I had. 3rd time and it's going to be my last time. Spent about 150 dollars and I asked for a bag. Man was about to give me a box, I'm not trying to take trash home. I've been to GNC and other stores where they offer bags even when it's one or two items. Please do your self a favor and avoid walking into Vitamin Shoppe located in Sunnyvale on a weekend. Your gonna walk in and feel like it's a Monday. It has really bad energy especially the older lady that works at the register. She didn't even greet us upon walking in. She had a stinky look on her face. She was almost annoyed that a customer walked in. Life isn't that bad, it is what you make it. If your going to work in a customer service environment pls make sure to have basic customer service skills at least. I recommend this store. I bought a few bottles of supplements from their website but they didn't work out. I brought them to this store for a return. As it turned out, my order was shipped from their warehouse and was not properly recorded in their system. Ginine at the store tried a few ways and even called a few other stores looking for ways to process my return. In the end, the return went through. They have everything. EVERYTHING. You can find supplements, powders, weight loss products, pre-workout products, post-workout products...bottom line: you name it, they've got it. When I drove over on a Saturday night, I initially thought they were closed due to the lights inside being very dim. They were, however, indeed still open (albeit empty). So after my last review, the district manager of VS reached out to me via email to connect and correct my poor experience. We got on a call and she let me know about some of the changes they were experiencing at the time, which were all very fair but still not completely a valid reason to have poor service. She assured me that wouldn't be the case any longer. Since then, I've dropped into this location a couple times, and have been greeted extremely warmly by the staff, especially Jeanine. She's been there both times and she's been super kind and a pleasure to chat with. Sometimes I can be a basic consumer. Other times I can be "that" customer. Basically I did all my research before I came here! I wanted a good probiotic and multivitamin. Luckily I found one. It's vegan and raw. The one I buy is Vitamin Code for Women. It's $33 for the bottle. Two capsules twice a day. Customer service is usually fast. The store has lotssssss of different supplements. I'm glad I read the other one star reviews about this VS store. They helped confirm my experience I had when I took back a purchase for a return (with a receipt mind you). I felt interrogated for bringing my purchase back for a refund. It was an elderly lady and she kept staring at me as if I was lying? What the hell. The supplement did not agree with me and I brought it back in less than a week of purchase. It took five minutes for her trying to understand why I couldn't take the product, then she tried to get me to exchange for another item. I've called on several occasions to see if they carry various items, and each time the staff has been quick to tell me whether they carry the items (and if so, whether the items were in stock or not). Good selection of items. When they are sold out of something, it can take several days to get it back in stock. I had to do a return, and the cashier was quick to assist me. They have "buy one, get one for 50% off" sales often. There is a free Healthy Rewards program (earn one point for every dollar spent, and 100 points gets one a $5 gift certificate). The parking lot is nuts. They share parking with Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Panera, Rubio's, Pizza My Heart, etc. You get the picture. read more

It's nice to have this new store with helpful staff to buy vitamins, herbs and supplements. This VS is located in the new shopping center at the corner of El Camino Real and Sunnyvale-Saratoga Rd. next to Panera Bread & Rubio's. The store is well stocked, wide open, bright and clean. I went in knowing mostly what I needed and had some questions about a couple of herbs I'd researched. The store manager helped me and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He didn't pressure me to purchase anything I didn't want. I really appreciated his help and have found staff at other Vitamin Shoppe locations to be very informed about vitamins & herbs as well. They obviously provide good training to their staff. The store carries a lot of popular supplement brands as well as their own line of products in addition to a variety of vitamin/supplement strengths & quantities. It's helpful to be able to buy a small or large bottle of something or a higher potency instead of taking multiple tablets if required. Most of their prices are fairly reasonable, however you can get better deals online or at wholesale stores for certain products. Their website is also a good place to research their products so you know what they offer before going in. As of April 2011, VS is a #1 rated vitamin store for 2 yrs in a row by consumerlab.com for customer satisfaction! So they're doing something right! VS offers a Healthy Awards Club that is free to join and for every purchase you make you earn points towards a yearly dollar amount award certificate plus periodic coupons for savings. After $1,000 spent in any year, they upgrade you to the Platinum Membership where the benefits are at a higher level. They have a 30 day return policy in which they'll refund your money if the product is unopened & you have your receipt. In addition they'll accept and opened product w/the same requirements, but only for exchange. This is good customer service-most places you're out of luck it you don't care for a supplement, it doesn't work, etc. There's plenty of parking in front of the store and I'm happy to have them so close to home. read more

The store is located in a busy shopping area, right next to some popular food joints where local workers like to relax during the lunch breaks, so parking can be a pain in the behind. I was looking for some energy supplements and decided to stop by here. Right away, when I walked up, I thought to myself, "Whoa, this is way better then GNC and Vitamin World." Walked in, no greetings (usually I like that). Walked around looking for what I wanted. Stood there for about 5-10 minutes until I finally saw they were out of the product I wanted. So I started looking at the other products and checking reviews on the internet on my phone. One of the sales associates Angel walks right past me, looks at me, but kept walking. Okay? Way to be helpful, thanks. Finally decided to try one of the supplements out that was rated 4/5 stars. There was a lady being helped at the register, so I figured I could use the bathroom real quick. Walked up to Angel who was busy checking in UPS/MAIL packages by the front door. Stood for a few seconds while he continued to scan them, then he finally turned around annoyed that I had disrupted his package scans count. Asked him if they had a bathroom I could use, in which he replied no. So I walked back to the cash register annoyed by his attitude, and he walked over to the cash register to ring me up. Pretty much even exchange. Said the price, swiped my card, put my supplements in a bag, handed it to me, snatched it out his hand, and walked out. Horrible customer service! I came in looking for a particular weight management supplement. I'd been working out 5 days a week and hit a plateau, and a month on that supplement had helped me break free. When I mentioned it to the staff member (I forgot to get his name, but he was super helpful), he asked why I wanted that particular supplement and what I hoped to accomplish. After I explained, he recommended a similar supplement that would save me money and contained more natural ingredients. I wound up paying half what I would have had I bought the original one I came for, plus the one I bought wound up being enough for 2-3 months instead of 2-4 weeks. I'm not big on vitamins and powders and pills. I don't know much about vitamin and nutrient deficiencies, but I'm learning. And I appreciate the fact that the staff here is knowledgeable enough to help explain certain concepts and make product recommendations. They checked on me every five minutes or so asking me if I have any questions in regards to the section I was standing in front of. I politely said I was just browsing the first few times. Finally after finding a few things that I wanted, I had a question in regards to some heart health supplements in which the lady there was very helpful. She helped me make a decision on which garlic supplement would best suit my needs and even upsold me another cholesterol health supplement that I would not have known about if she didn't inform me. Plant sterols it was called I think. Also advised that I should always consult my physician before taking any new supplements. I really respect that reminder as well. As I walked around a little more to look for anything I might have missed, the man who was also working there offered me a basket since he noticed my hands were getting pretty full. Great customer service. Very knowledgeable and tactful. I wish I remembered their names so I could give them more direct credit here. I used to frequent Vitamin Shoppe in Elk Grove when I was lifting all the time and they were very professional. I suppose the same professionalism carries on to the Vitamin Shoppe in Sunnyvale too. Randy helped me and he was very informative and helpful especially since I am going to get back into lifting. Not only did he help with finding what was best for me, but he also knew how to carry an actual social conversation (didn't make it awkward). Each of the three team members (Zack, Ryan and Jeanine) I have interacted with have been knowledgeable, friendly and beyond helpful when it comes to scheduling deliveries and answering questions. This location also doesn't have an issue with parking as some others do. They are also the only local brick and mortar store that carries the all-natural products from my favorite company, The Genius Brand. Excellent customer service from the moment I walked into this store. You know that insecure feeling you get sometimes when you try something new and/or go somewhere new? I'm used to going into GNC, but my trainer told me to try Vitamin Shoppe because there was a sale on Isopure and GNC can be pricey! So I went here and it was empty in the afternoon on a weekend and was immediately helped by 2 associates. Chose the chocolate Isopure and I was also looking for Glutamine and the Manager suggested TAG brand. Took it home, tried it and honestly, the TAG Glutamine is fine, I'm sticking with it but the Isopure was crap! But for 2 weeks I kept drinking it cause I figure I spent like $40 so there's no way I'll waste it. After lots of complaining, my trainer told me if I don't like it, GNC accepts returns so she wasn't sure if Vitamin Shoppe does, but I tossed my receipt so I thought I was screwed anyway. But I called and one of the employees there said if I have the receipt or if I have a membership, they can look it up and offer an exchange but I told her I had neither and she said it should be ok and come in anyway and I can get store credit possibly. When I got there, she was gone, but the Manager was there and he accepted my return it this time. I opened a free acct just in case I ever need them to track my purchases in the future. Then I went to look for a new protein powder and one of the employees graciously helped me and recommended the Gold Standard fruit punch flavor, which I was very hesitant about cause I'm more of a chocolate person, but he said he suggested to many people and no one has ever returned it so I bought it. I'm so happy I listened to him cause it's GREAT! I no longer gag on my protein shake nor want to throw up when I drink it! I wish I caught his name so I can give him credit, but thank you slim, Caucasian guy with blonde hair (if I remember correctly) and pretty cute! lol Customer service here is above par, they are friendly and understanding, store is extremely clean and spacious, products on sale at good prices and I always find parking right out front. I always have a great experience at this particular location. Today however, I really was impressed with one employee especially. He was way above and beyond to help me have a better understanding about all the products I am interested in and was purchasing. Danny has assisted me with little things in the past and has always been friendly, eager to help and passionate about his job. Today he helped me in a way that no one has before. He answered every single question I had about every product I wanted to purchase and even recommended better products and supplements that I should be taking. In the recent years I have packed on a lot of weight and I am NOT happy about it. Danny, didn't make me feel ashamed about my limited nutritional knowledge. He gave me hope and motivation to take my health into my own hands. He spent quite a bit of time helping me and suggesting other products that I am not familiar with. Like I said, he broke down each product and explained to me exactly what it does for my body and how to take it. I value him and I am so appreciative for his help. I now feel confident about the items I purchased and I have a better understanding about how to use them and what exactly to take. Also, the store is always organized and neat. I too, appreciate that. I do wish they would have a little better prices... But, I will spend the extra to get my products from people who are happy and eager to help. Right near 24 Hour Fitness Sunnyvale, this is my go-to Vitamin Shoppe location. I have been in this location a couple of times to buy Protein powders and bars. Someone always offers to help me, but the woman during my last visit was especially knowledgeable. Sometimes they will also have samples of the products (because who wants to buy a huge tub of $40 protein powder that tastes disgusting?). They really don't advertise the fact that they will offer a sample as I had to ask and once before they told me they didn't have any samples. This is a pretty large location, however the one in Los Altos may be even bigger. The only negative is that unlike Whole Foods, where I sometimes also purchase products, I don't believe there is a moneyback guarentee if you dislike it. At Whole Foods, I was encouraged to buy the big tub of protein powder and the employee proactively told me to just return it opened if I disliked it. While the Vitamin Shoppe has a substantial variety of powders, I am always hesitant to buy a big tub because I am unsure whether I will like the taste. But, they have a huge selection and a frequent buyer card. The prices are also slightly lower than GNC. read more
