We came in as a group if 7 for our friends birthday dinner because he wanted hibachi. When we were being sat originally, we were being sat in seats BEHIND the chef. I, and my group, had never seen a hibachi place with seats that are behind the chef and where you cannot see anything. What's the point of hibachi if you're not able to watch the chef? Then, you're crammed into the seats like a pack of sardines. Looking at the menu, the drinks do not have any prices. Our waitresses came around and took our drink orders, they kind of jumped around the table a little - taking order from half of my party and then jumping to one of the tables behind the chef stoves, then back to us. My husband orders a Strawberry Daqauri. I order a Pina Colada Daqauri and a water. Both of these are non-alcoholic. (This information is important for later) Drinks are brought out. It took roughly about 20 to 30 minutes for a chef to make their way around to us, no big deal. The music is loud and we can only hear the person next to us at best. Chef Harry and Nathan come out and starts cooking dinner. He warns us to backup and I cannot because my seat is in front of a beam, mildly dangerous. I had to turn away from the heat and brightness if the flames. Chef Harry starts cooking and he's very entertaining to watch and literally the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. When the protien is being cooked and served, they were served in very small portions. The NY Strip looks more like a flank steak and only had flavor from the fat of the steak. The chicken was dry and tasteless, the chicken teriyaki had no teriyaki. The food is mid, at best. It's absolutely not worth it for cheap chicken and flank steak from probably Aldi. The chef also seemed very confused by what order went to who and I don't really blame him with the amount of people that he has to manage. However, he messed up my friend's meal twice. First confusing his meal with his girlfriend's who was next to him, then the other he placed the shrimp on my other friend's plate then picked it up off her plate and moved it to his. What if they didn't know her or she was allergic to shellfish? We also received only one refill during this time. I drink a lot of water while eating so this was hard. Dinner wraps up, checks are served. My husband's Daqauri was $6 and mine was rang in as a virgin Pina Colada (I told them Daqauri) at $9. After mentioning this to the server, they have no way of ringing in a Pina Colada flavor for a Daqauri. She went to speak to her manager and we're informed that actually my husband's drink was also supposed to be $9 because all the virgin drinks are that much (much doubt). Then she walked away. Once the chef is done, they pretty much push you out the door, whether you're done eating or not, so they can turn the table. This is a tourist scam. I was very disappointed with my experience. We were seated all the way in the corner, which made it difficult to properly enjoy and see the show. Throughout the meal, one of the chefs repeatedly dropped a significant amount of food before it even reached our plates. Additionally, another customer was telling the chef's assistant to give extra food to a different family, and it seemed like our table was completely overlooked. It felt as though we were paying for food that was being given to others instead of receiving our fair portion. To make matters worse, when I requested lobster, it was mistakenly given to another family. I had to ask for it again, and it took quite a while before I finally received it. Overall, the service was disorganized, and the experience did not meet my expectations. The only thing that I was very satisfied was when my daughter got her face painted. Went here for a family dinner. The food was really good, like so flavorful and provides the quintessential hibachi vibe. Really hit the spot. The prices were a little steeper than expected but that happens. It's in the same space as a hotel, so prices make sense to be a little higher. I also liked that they had two chefs at our table. One making the meat and one making the sides. Also, our chef, Micky, was SOOO fun. He was engaging and funny. All the other tables were pretty dead, lol. Some notes: the floor is SOOOOO slippery. I had trouble staying in my spot. They should put some grippers on the bottom. Also, the seats are very tight. I had no room to move. Our chef, Harry, was so fun and such a showman and awesome cook, he and the staff made it the perfect evening! The restaurant and views are beautiful and the food was delicious! Meanwhile, a party that arrived AFTER us was fully attended to and even celebrating a birthday right next to us. It was honestly shocking how obvious the lack of attention was. We asked to speak to a manager, hoping the situation would be addressed, but that went nowhere. The response was dismissive and unprofessional, with zero sense of urgency or accountability. The only positive was our server, who was kind , but clearly unsupported. Management completely failed this experience. We ended up paying for our drinks and leaving without even getting to eat. Best Hibachi Filet We've Ever Had - Even Beats Hawaii! If you're in the Poconos and looking for an incredible hibachi experience, Desaki is a must visit. We ordered the filet, and hands down it was the best filet we've ever had at any hibachi restaurant, including ones we've tried in Hawaii. The meat was incredibly fresh, melt in your mouth tender, and cooked to absolute perfection right in front of us. You could tell the quality was top tier from the very first bite. Drove to this hibachi during our stay at a nearby indoor water park resort. It was overpriced compared to all the other hibachi spots I've been too. I ordered a gyoza appetizer and a chicken and filet hibachi combo. One of my daughters got a California roll and rainbow sushi. My man got the triple protein hibachi priced at $100. They have no dessert available, which sucked because we were celebrating a birthday. My food was of good quality besides the noodle being a bit thicker and unusual from other spots. I dipped my gyoza into the sauce and then dipped it in the red cabbage and carrot shavings, so delicious. Harry our cook was hilarious. My chicken and steak came out juicy. He made us a tasty home made spicy garlic dip. Our waitress was great. The area was spacious and clean. The bill was about $100 per person, would have been more if we were drinking. I came here w/ my family to eat & celebrate my niece's birthday. I should have checked the menu out before dining here. The prices are ridiculous. On the menu,it says you're paying for the quality food & entertainment. This was like a basic hibachi spot nothing spectacular at all. The food was not good. I ordered California rolls ($14.95)& a shrimp hibachi dinner($60+). The sushi rolls were small. The white rice tasted funny. The noodles that came w/ the dinner were so thick & soggy. The snow peas they served before dinner were so hard it wasn't edible. The onion soup tasted like faucet water. The only thing that was good was the shrimps(they were big) & vegetables. I didn't order any dessert b/c they didn't even have any. I gave this place 2 stars b/c of the chefs & our server Aylin. Aylin was one of the best servers I've had in a while. One of the chefs Harry Hibachi(that's what he goes by) was hilarious. The jokes kept coming.He made my niece feel very special. He kept giving her a birthday shoutout & singing happy birthday. Reviewing after my second time "dining" here. The value is absolutely not there. The prices they charge for the experience and value Desaki provides rivals robbery. The place is a tourist trap, located in the same parking lot as an upscale hotel. My family and I were a party of 12 people. They were trying to wrap our food as the last member of our party was served. We were asked to leave our table cause they had another party waiting. This is acceptable if they extend some form of hospitality. Something along the lines of "Can I buy you a drink at the bar while the children enjoy the amenities we offer?" is appropriate and acceptable. Three members of our party were still enjoying their drinks while the children were finally able to enjoy the amenities offered. We were never offered coffee or dessert. We had two birthdays at the table. We left feeling treated like cattle while being charged NYC fine dining prices. Our server, Chasity, was pleasant and efficient. Bar service was quick. Came here to eat on our way to an indoor water park. My family and I LOVE hibachi and have been to various ones in PA. To start off they have a cooler/better show than any other hibachi place that I've been that cooks in front of you. However the food isn't great. My husband ordered a medium rare but got well done. The spider roll we got was ok. Then the rice had the consistency of chia seeds which was gross. The portion for noodles was super small. I also got the veggie hibachi but it seemed like others got more vegetables than me. Over all the bill was $150 and we left with buyers remorse. First of all, the green beans were very nice very salty and cooked to perfection. I don't know if everybody gets them, but I think so when you start. I got the strawberry lemonade. It was very good not too sweet and not too sour so I approve next we had the spicy tuna rolls these were very nice delicious taste and texture. I really enjoyed them with a beautiful clash of soy sauce and wasabi. Sadly, I forgot to take a photo of these, but I recommend them they were great and lastly, the hibachi came out. I got the lobster. It was really delicious and I enjoyed every bite and savor it. I dined out recently at Desaki for an acquaintance birthday dinner . Rather large, active, and packed restaurant . We enjoyed the customer service but we were impressed with our two chefs . Their presentation was nice and favorable . Very entertaining. The food served healthy large portions and was able to eat on my plate for two days . I had one cocktail and it was strong. I took my time . We dined around 7:30pm and the DJ wanted us to stay and be entertained on the dance floor . We would stayed after dinner but the concern was having young children on the dance floor after 9:00pm . A suggesting would be 18 or 21 and over after 8:30pm. This was the worst meal ever. I ordered the Filet Mignon at approximately $55.00 The presentation was nice but the meat had a disgustingly spoiled meat taste to it. I complained to the waitress, Hunter, who advised she would speak with the manager to see what could be done. I patiently waited for her to return. Came here on 7/17/25, and it was my birthday. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and then seated. After a lot of reccomendations, we decided to come to Desaki and I'm really glad we did. today is my birthday and the hibachi chef acknowledged it and sang happy birthday multiple times. The chefs were soooooo funny and so friendly - so entertaining my kids LOVED THEM!! usually my son is very shy but he enjoyed the singing, jokes and constant interactions. We're from New York and honestly none of the hibachi chefs are as funny lol, also the foooood... the food was so flavorful. One of the best hibachis I've ever had. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, a lot of space, ambience is welcoming and friendly. Brianna, our waitress was also amazing. She was very attentive and friendly, also she checked in on us frequently to make sure we were ok or if we needed anything (refills, sauces, alcoholic beverages etc) it was our first time here but definitely not our last. read more

Desaki is very conveniently located next to the SwiftWater hotel in the Pocons. The service was absolutely excellent. The Hibachi presentation was lots of fun and crated the entire experience. Both chefs were top notch put on a good show. The food was definitely tasty but on the expensive end, however the portions are large and you will not leave hungry. Visit this place if you love wasting your money. While staying at a near by water park,we thought we would take the children out to dinner for a little classier experience. That was not the case. For a Saturday night we were able to walk in with no wait time. Thought that was odd being an establishment with $$$ but ok. Great for us. Why would you give 1 child a glass drink and the rest of the children cups. What does a child accidentally do? Drop it, now there is glass by the child feet. Didn't make sense. Mixed drinks stay away from until they have a bartender who knows how to mix drinks. Waitress took the mixed drinks back but seemed annoyed. What we thought a safer drink option would be (sangria) turned out to be worse than the mixed drink. Mix sprite and cranberry juice, that's there sangria. Was this intentional?! When brought to the waitress attention it felt like being chastised for bringing it to her attention. The manager is asked for. The waitress has a conversation with him at the bar. He walks past our table and looks at us and walks to the other side of the bar and has a phone conversation. He approached our table seeming annoyed that he had to speak with us. He made no attempt to make the situation right. The gentleman/chef who made the food for us was good. Good entertainment for us. Food was ok. A nat was found in one of the children's food. Desaki is always my go-to when at the Poconos! Prices are very expensive but you do get a full plate. The chefs are great and entertaining. There is an automatic 20% tip on all bills. Love how big the area is and that there is a big back room and a dance floor. Anytime I've ever gone it's usually full of kids, but makes for more of a family friendly restaurant. My last experience, the owner was monitoring how much yum yum sauce our waitress was allowed to give us, and made a comment to her to give us less. I went to Camelback Resort on a snowy weekend (which i left a review on) and this was the best part of my trip. The food was unbelievable. We went on a Saturday night so i was expecting some kind of wait. I was with my family of 4 and was told there was a 15-20 minute wait. After 5 minutes our buzzer went off and we were served. The show was amazing and the music/disco stuff was so cool. We loved the food and our server Kaden was phenomenal. Our chef was Jeremia and he was amazing. We were a large party of 16 people trying to find someplace to accommodate us after we finished a long day of skiing. We went through a few options and ended up at Desaki. Immediately you could tell the ambiance is a bit more upscale than most of the surrounding restaurants. Fortunately for us they had a large seating area and we all fit nicely (7 kids, 9 adults) and Heather took us right to the area and settled in on our drink orders relatively fast. The hibachi show was pretty nice. I wasn't expecting much based on location, but it had a few things I hadn't seen done before. I did feel that the show itself was maybe shorter than I expected, but our chef's personality made it all worth the while. His assistant was mild mannered and very helpful as well. I had the filet mignon and the fried rice, as well as the onion soup, and I got myself a 1800 Silver mule. Everything I tried was spectacular, but the meat itself was very tender. Good selection on the staff's end. It's a bit pricey but the service more than made up for it. Would definitely return if we end up back in Pokonos for skiing. read more

Over-priced garbage. I was visting the area from So. CA. and heard this was a really good place to eat. First, the food is disgusting. It's a mix of Japanese, Chinese and whatever else they could throw in. I went to the Hibachi side (had to choose between it and the sushi side) and had the NY Strip and Jumbo shrimp (?). The edamame appetizer to start was just ok, followed by the onion soup which was not bad. The fried rice was disgustingly salty. The so-called chef added what looked like teriyaki sauce to the fried rice which was not needed. The sauted vegetables were ok, but broccoli, really? The kid sized portion of NY strip and shrimp was over-cooked (I ordered medium rare and came out well done). Then the prices are outrageous. Several locals recommended this place, but its in middle of PA, so I guess its about as good as you're going to find in the area. Looking at the sushi, there's no way I touch that weird-looking crap. I would avoid this place and read all the bad reviews first, if you do go. Almost all are accurate, including the slippery floor and annoying chefs. read more

We were staying at the Swiftwater next door so we figure this would be convenient and looked good with all the hype and billboards we kept seeing. Not sure what this restaurant is like "in season," but on a Tuesday night, post Labor Day weekend, it was pretty empty. Service was so slow and while the server was doing his best, one person can't do it all. There's either hibachi or sushi section. I didn't take one photo, which is pretty rare for me. The Kani salad was probably the best thing on the menu that we enjoyed. The sushi was just OK and the side of hibachi rice was pretty tasteless. Although Desaki Restaurant is sometimes rated as having the best sushi in the Poconos, I found that to not be the case -- and definitely not worth the price. I took a date there on a Friday evening not realizing they'd have a very lame DJ blasting country music during dinner hour. Moving by the sushi bar, I saw an assistant texting on his phone and he seemed disappointed to be there. Not a good sign. We were seated at a table near the swirling disco ball that no one was dancing under. The service was fine and my date and I ordered sushi for two and their cold silver sake. The sake was excellent. The sushi, however, was delivered on a giant boat with many gaps. A smaller boat would have been far more appealing. The rolls were nothing special and the sushi was not worthwhile. The tuna sashimi was drying out. However, the salmon and white tuna sashimi were stellar. Overall, one can get far better sushi, including more at lower prices, from Sarah Street and Yusan in Stroudsburg. read more

Amazing experience! After reading the reviews we almost did not go. But decided to give it a chance. I am very happy we did! My uncle could not stop laughing at Micky our hibachi cook. And the food was absolutely delicious. The seafood was very fresh. I got the shrimp and scallops and omg they were huge! I didn't order anything aside from the hibachi like I usually do and I needed a doggie bag. As did most of our party and we did not order anything additional from hibachi. More than enough food I don't know how anyone could say it didn't have enough food or protein. The rice doesn't have protein bc you order that separately. The portions were large and delicious. I would absolutely go back here! You won't be disappointed. Yes the price is more than a normal dinner I would say but you are getting a show on top of it so yes it's going to cost a bit more for the experience. By far, the worst Teppan restaurant experience of my life. The soup tasted like burnt soy sauce. I really don't think they taste their food before serving. All they used during cooking were soy sauce and teriyaki sauce, way too much.. The chefs seemed to lack any skill.
