I love this DI compared to other locations. It's organized well and the employees are kind and helpful. The prices are definitely lower compared to other locations, however, they have gone up the last few years. I love the book section and can always find at least a couple of current/popular books to add to my collection. I always never skip their kitchen section and have found amazing bowls, plates, mugs, and serving trays. I've found amazing items that I've been so happy to get. I can always leave with a treasure! Just note that on Saturday, this place is pretty busy and it can be a little overwhelming. read more

My family has recently become obsessed with repurposing our used items and giving other used items a second chance by shopping at thrift stores, or D.I. In this case, in our attempt to be more sustainable. We frequently visit this location and we never know what we're going to find but we always seem to walk away with some treasure whether that be in the form of new clothes, toys for the kids, or even some books. You never know what you will find but that is what makes the D.I. so much fun. I have found some quality clothing brands (ex. Lululemon, The North Face, Vineyard Vines) at this location so if you look hard enough you can find name brand clothes for a fraction of the cost. We often find things at DI that are helpful. I especially enjoy perusing the book section, and my husband always goes through the electronics. The Yard area is fun to look through. The employees are always helpful. The prices have gone up in the last few years, but things at the stores are still a good value. read more

As with everything else in this economy unfortunately I have started to see inflation at the DI . While I understand that wage increases with current inflation is helping the employees these items are 100% donated so they really should have a lot of overhead costs and inflation shouldn't be as much as it has been. I used to pay $2 for a hardcover book and my recent visit it was upwards of $5. Same thing with clothing. I also hate that they charge more for plus size clothing. This particular location you can also expect to not have cell service. read more

This is one of the cleaner, more organized thrift/secondhand stores that I have visited. All of the clothing is neatly hung on racks-and organized by size AND color. Makes shopping much simpler! There is a good selection-but due to the nature of the inventory, you have to be flexible when shopping. You can't show up looking for something very specific, but be willing to see what little treasures you find. I love to start out each season with a trip to a thrift store to pick out several items without breaking the bank. You can use the dressing rooms to try on the items you select-which I highly recommend since they don't do returns. You can bring things back, with tags on, for store credit, however. They also accept donations (that's the stuff they are selling-in case you weren't sure how it all works). Be sure the items you donate are in good condition and clean, and they will do the rest. read more

They've redone the whole building which is nice but the prices have skyrocketed. You can't find any jeans under $10 and I'd rather just buy new since the prices are so high now. Not worth thrifting if there's no bargain. read more

Almost every single time that I have come here to donate, they are closed. They have a sign that says their donation hours end at 4 PM... I came here today with a car completely loaded at 3 o'clock and they were closed for donations. It is so frustrating that this is happened multiple times. Every time I have donated though, the staff is really friendly and helpful.. I just think that if you're going to have flexible donation hours, customers should be aware. read more

I was given incredible customer service at this store. I am incredibly obese and had a hard time finding clothes. A nice guy named "Thor" helped me out when I got stuck in the fitting room. I decided not to try on any more clothes, but that's ok, they have a great return policy. I was worried about my body odor, but they assured me as long as I have my tags and receipt I can do an exchange. At the register, my fat ass only had two dollars, but I was still able to buy a 5XL BYU shirt. Go Cougs! I will be back for sure! read more

Family and I come here when we are looking for specific items such as boys jeans, shorts, and boys collared shirts and pants for church. I love that this location is about a 5 minute drive from home. It's a pretty big location! The clothing racks are pretty well organized according to color. We have also found some good footed pajamas for girls. For the kitchen, I feel you do have to come at the right time of the week to find treasures! I found glass mixing bowls and even a huge deep baking pan for the oven, hardly used! I also found a decent Dutch oven here that I gifted to a dear friend as I knew she never had one but wanted one. Also found some organizing bins of various sizes and also a pair of jean shorts for myself. Oh and also discovered a great well known brand back pack for girls so that was indeed a treasured find. We also donate most of our household items and clothing to this location as they have a drive thru drop off station. The employees are friendly too. read more

Timing is everything! If you love the hunt for a treasure this is a great place! Great home Decour items and children's clothing. My husband even found a beautiful pair of Designer men's shoes that were new. There are a lot of junkie items as well, you just have to sift through them to find the treasures. I don't understand the pricing lately especially for children's clothes! :/ I went the other day looking for shirts for my 2 year olds... t shirts were $3-$4!! I can go to target And get brand new cat And jack brand t shirts for him for $4 REGULAR priced. Kids t shirts should be no more than $1. I found a few but didn't buy them becuase I couldn't justify it! Same with infant clothes. Also the toddler pajamas were $4 for a top And $4 for a bottom...might as well buy new. read more

Lately the pricing is insane. $4 for a single by or worn out kids top? $8 for a toddler dress? $6 for kids pants? I can get a whole outfit brand new off amazon for $5. Kids clothes should be $1-$3 not $4-$8 when it's used. Also a lot of their items have stains on them. read more

I have donated and shopped there for 15 years and never had any issues. The staff and managers have gone out of their way to help me.

Everytime I come shopping here I notice how rude the Employees are. I think they all need to be trained a little better.

I had previously posted a negative review about this location after a misunderstanding that had taken place there. Once I spoke with the manager Nephi Carter, he took care of our concerns and even reached out to follow up with us while a family member of his was in the hospital. He was a great listener and was very professional with the way he handled our concerns. I've changed my mind about this company and Carter has done a great job winning our business back. read more

This location is always one of my favorites as far as thrift stores go. They put new merchandise out quickly and regularly and every week it is a brand new selection. The employees here are always nice and helpful, they do a really good job on customer service training. The prices here are also always low and fair, and they're usually willing to meet you with a lower but fair offer. I have also found a few really neat treasure here, such as a handmade flask that was limited edition and handed out to artists at the Grammy Awards. Half of the fun is finding a hidden treasure buried on the back of the shelf. The other half is scoring sweet deals and saving big bucks. The third half of the fun is wondering what incredible journey some of these items must have taken to end up on the shelves of a small town store in Utah. And the fourth half of the fun is that it is the type of store where you can be ridiculous and nobody will judge you. Try on the ugliest mismatch of clothing you can find and use the poorly tuned guitar to lead Christmas carols in the middle of the store? Go for it. read more

Great place to find deals on wood furniture and sports gear (baseball bats, weight lifting, etc..). Couldn't agree more with the review that said that "timing is everything" as you need to go consistently to catch the good stuff. I'm not a big fan of thrifting or used goods, but have a scored some fantastic sporting equipment for pennies on the dollar (some of which I resold for a nice profit). Great selection of thrift store items. Always very stocked. My family and I have gotten some good stuff from here--clothes, Halloween costumes, books, bags, toys, decor. It's always worth a look before paying full price for something elsewhere. The workers here are well trained and kind. The aisles are maintained well--despite the free-range kids who make every attempt to destroy the toy aisle. Some stuff can be priced seemingly too high, but still cheaper than retail. This is our go-to place to donate new and used goods we no longer use. read more

My favorite thrift store! I almost always find something fun to buy. I love their book selection. They are pretty organized and cycle through and toss out the old to make room for the newer items. My only complaint is the way the clothing is organized. I wish they would go to straight long racks so that you could look through all of the jeans or skirts or dresses in my size. The way they have it is on round racks and there might be 5 racks of jeans in all different sizes. Kind of frustrates me to shop for clothing. read more

This is feedback for Deseret Industries Thrift stores. I am finding the "thrift stores" that we donate to are becoming overpriced. For example, the American Fork location is asking retail price or HIGHER for items in the "collectible" counter. When I asked why the price is high for items...the response I am told is that they LOOKED it up on eBay. This is simply unacceptable for a thrift store (non-profit) to behave like every other retail store. If it wasn't for the sacrifices of others there would be no store. If I wanted to pay that much for items I would go to eBay. People shop at thrift stores to find a good deal. Your own website says the purpose is to provide items at a "low cost". This is not what I am seeing at Deseret Industry Thrift stores. What I am seeing is a retail for-profit business. At least I have seen the other thrift stores try to keep their costs reasonable. I have been donating to Deseret Industries for 7+ years...immense amounts of items. Thanks for viewing my complaint. read more
