I love coming to this cute gem! They have been in this location for 3 years now and I love their mission statement: To support single mothers! Jazmine, the owner, is very friendly and welcomes each and every customer herself when she's in the store working, and she's there often! She's very passionate about what she does! Renato, her colleague, is super personable and just makes you feel like you have a friend there. I have found treasures there often, such as: brand name glass mixing bowls, baking pans, African wood bowls for home decor, children's clothes, and a handful of toys. I've also found a set of really great chairs, which I purchased and donated to the front reception office of a school - they LOVED it! This cute store gets daily donations from near and far, so I like to stop by at least once a week. Their items are fairly priced and their proceeds go back into supporting the single mothers of Utah! Love to support local businesses like this!

Honestly, I almost don't want to review this place. I would hate for everyone to swarm my favorite spot! :) but, they're for a good cause, and so I'll share (I guess.) Employees and volunteers are super helpful, kind, and funny. They have a ton of cute and fun items and knick knacks. Their prices are literally unbeatable. My kids also love this store, and request to come here instead of any big box stores. Absolutely, wholeheartedly recommend. read more

Ugly's Closet is the greatest priced thrift store of all time‼ Best thrift store ever; If there was a 10 star rating, I'd put that! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT GOOD ABOUT THIS PLACE ‼ Interesting items; I LOVE this place for "treasure hunting"!!! Occasionally a true antique. The perfect location to hit 3 great stores within a block-antiques, restored items & thrift within 1 min!!! It closes an hour later than the rest (6pm), & the owner is the best!!!!!!!!!! Even the real reason it's there is to help single mothers‼ They get free haircuts, as well as diapering & food supplies, etc -WOW! They accept, but never ask for, donations of those items as well. It's on P.G's cute old-time street w/ little lights strung over the street!! 2 great others as well: The Grove & Rosebud antiques. Uglys Closet provides an amazing deal for any type of clothes, house decor, shoes, books, and everything in between. Although many of the styles are fairly outdated, the friendly workers will be more than willing to help you find something you like from their wide selection of types of things. Plus, if you fill up a crate with as many clothes as you like and one pair of shoes, it's always $15. They change out their stock frequently, so you'll want to visit regularly to check out the new products! They keep it all updated on various social media outlets. read more

A hidden gem. I highly recommend to avid and experienced thrifters as this place is a gold mine of deals and unique pieces. You can find all kinds of trinkets and treasures here. I dropped by one day out of curiosity and left with one of my most favorite thrift finds to date (a vintage linen button down blouse). The fill-a-crate deal is amazing and the employees are so warm! I left with a frame, 4 picture stands, a planter box, 9 pieces of clothing (an assortment of blouses and sweaters including some H&M brand if that matters to you) and a chunky knit baby blanket for less than $20. This place cannot be beat. read more

I have to say this is one of my favorite thrift stores ever because they still understand how great it is to give a deal even when things are dirt cheap For example they will throw in this or throw in that or mark down this or mark down that. The staff is always friendly and personable. This charming store is full of so many Treasures you cannot even imagine! Please keep this place in business because they help single mothers.. they help everyone! I love the feeling there...not only that, but I believe... as someone who is part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint community that it is so important that we support those who are from other organizations and other religions trying to do good out there too! I love DI and I still support them but I also send a lot of my business here... the crate sale?.. you go and fill up a crate for $15 how great is that? Please visit! read more

Fabulous little thrift store in Pleasant Grove! Personable staff, great variety and prices. Supports women & children, so a wonderful place to invest your money and donate unwanted items. I visit when I'm in town and it's rare I leave empty handed. Keep up the good work UGLY'S. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Jazmine E.

Jazmine is owner/ manager. Renato is our assistant manager. Volunteers are our life line to maintaining our business functions. Jazmine has been a single mother 3 times and when she was in a stable relationship and position in life, she wanted to give back to others, choosing single mothers and their children as her main focus. Single families can shop for clothing and household NEEDED items at no cost, only being asked to help serve our boutique and attending workshops. Our motto is, 'we can't save the world, then again, if we can save one mother, we will alter generations to come."

Capital City Antique Mall came up in my search (well there was another but they are closed on Tuesdays), and I was very pleased to find that they were in a large warehouse with plenty of vendors. There were a few items that I wanted but couldn't purchase for the sake of space or other reasons, but they were absolutely beautiful. The photos I've shared below are only scratching the surface of the gamut of items that you can find at the antique mall. I ended up purchasing some small items to add to my shelf of collectibles at home, including my very first glass insulator. The staff are nice and everything is quite reasonably priced compared to CA antique stores. We will definitely be revisiting Capital City Antique Mall the next time we are in SLC!

They also had the beautiful hydrangeas lime light trees/shrub that looked beyond healthy which is rare to see at a nursery. But above all I might stop by once in awhile but I probably won't buy especially because the prices of the plants are so pricey.

Knowing the story behind this little shop, the mission, and the service to the community, including: helping single parents and refugees, community service reform site for troubled youth/adults (work off community hours), self-reliance classes, mobile-closet for historically marginalized populations, etc., makes this little second-hand boutique even more beautiful.
