Containers with lids and it's nearly closing time!

This is by far the most organized thrift store I have ever been too! It's huge with 2 levels... clothing is upstairs while the furniture & home items are downstairs. I was delighted to see brand new furniture & mattresses from the Homestead Furniture Collection!! They go above & beyond by offering job training, assisting people in finding jobs as well as receiving education. You can also volunteer here, share your knowledge & help transform someone's life!!

    Wax!

Kind of confusing layout, I don't really understand why everything is where it is. Good selection of frames though.

I like taking my donations here. They're great! They take everything but the kitchen sink. Lol who knows maybe they take that, too.

Ask the Community - Deseret Industries

Did the store open on the 22nd? I called a couple of times but was not able to get someone on the line which is okay I understand.

Yes, thank you for your inquiry. We are open Monday thru Friday, 10am to 5pm.

    Are you open now?

Deseret Industries will hopefully open on September 22nd.

    Will you guys open tomorrow?

No. Deseret Industries is slated to open on September 22nd. Our modified hours will be Monday thru Friday 10 to 5.

    Is the shop currently open?

Not yet. We will most likely open September 8th.

Are they open for just drop off donations?

We are not accepting donations at this time. We will receive donations when the store re-opens sometime in August.

    When will the store reopen?

The store will re-open approximately June 15th.

    Is there any men jewelry?

Yes, but not nearly as much as the women's and they are usually mixed together.

Hello do you sale books for toddlers?

Yes, we have an entire children's book section.

Is this place open today July 4th?

They don't open on 4th of July.

How large is your selection of vintage jeans, particularly Levi's and what is the price range like? Thanks!

We don't have a vintage jean section. All of our jeans are mixed together and they range from $4.00 to $10.00 per pair.

    Do you have couches?

Yes, we do. The selection changes about every day.

Do you guys have a set of left-handed golf clubs? Not the most common question that is asked. I didnt even think about this until my friend bought a set a year ago.

It is really hit and miss on the golf clubs. We don't receive that many and as of today, we don't have any left handed sets. Come by and take a look, maybe you will get lucky.

First off this place is huge! There's so much to browse through, and most sections are fairly well organized, though a few shelves and aisles looked pretty picked over and messy, which I mostly avoided. Still, the selection here is impressive. They carry everything from furniture, purses, shoes, and clothing to appliances, books, CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, jewelry, electronics, vinyl records, dishes, and toys. My brother-in-law and I spent some time in the toy section and we both actually ended up leaving with some teddy bears. His was only $3, and when he looked it up in the store it was worth up to $70--he was so excited about that find! Overall my personal experience was very pleasant and the customer service I received was great. Most employees seemed friendly and helpful. I did notice a slightly awkward interaction between an older female employee and another customer browsing near the VHS/DVD and jewelry counter. The employee called out "next," which made it seem like she thought the customer was ready to check out. When the customer didn't respond right away, the employee called out louder to get her attention kinda sounded annoyed. The customer looked a little caught off guard and replied that she was just browsing before continuing to look around. It was a bit of an odd moment, but when that same employee ended up checking us out, everything went smoothly and we had no issues. Overall it was a fun thrifting trip and I'd definitely come back again. Next time I want to spend more time exploring the clothing section!

Don't let this tiny little store…read more- located in a tiny little corner of Little Tokyo - fool you: It's like a treasure trove of rare finds. I've been on a huge vintage kick lately, so this store has been my go-to source for old tees. My reasons for going vintage are primarily environmental since the carbon footprint and resources needed to make new clothes are substantial - and incredibly wasteful when there's so much awesome used clothing out there. Another reason: Your friends can't copy your style. Most recently, I picked up a few tees from the 1970s and 80s. Being in L.A. they get a lot of local and California vintage shirts with logos, designs, and jokes that only true Californians would get. I couldn't resist buying a Castroville "Giant Artichoke" tee they had over the summer. Personally, I tend to gravitate towards regional finds like these because they bring back such great memories of my youth and of family road trips up and down my home state. They also carry old college (Go Bears!), high school, and everyone's favorite - summer camp tees. Plus, you cannot beat the vintage fit from the 70s/80s. Caveat: Today's "S" is equivalent to an "M" or bigger because people were presumably thinner back then. So do your part for the environment and look effortlessly stylish doing it by shopping used and vintage! And there's no better place in L.A. for this than Raggedy Threads.
