I like this location! Awesome thrift store, no tax since it's a church organization. They don't have a huge plus size selection, but great couches, tables, and other furniture. Their books are not super organized but I still found good stuff! read more

The workers at the West Jordan D.I. did such a fantastic job when helping me with my recent furniture purchases. When I asked for a dolley to move my chaise lounge, they were so wonderfully compliant! I asked them to go about loading my furniture into a car in not at all an unusual but maybe not PERFECTLY normal way & they were complete good sports about it. The fact that my furniture had to be transported back to my home in an Uber & not a normal car, could have caused shakines; but it didn't with how solidly they went with it. I am TRULY appreciative! This D.I. (Deseret Industries) is little, compared to some other ones in the area, but the staff are really nice and helpful. Like almost ALL the D.I.s in Utah, this is just as super clean. They have clothes, furniture, toys, housewares and an extended coveree outdoors area, for bigger miscellaneous items, like bed frames, mirrors, but even rando things like blenders. Most of the store is more organized though. I like to go to the D.I.s and check out what they have in their special "glass cases." This is where they typically put more pricey items, which, in Utah typically include Mormon books, but I've also seen ice skates and Magic cards in them too. I just enjoy checking out what gets selected to go in there. One time I found a Seahawks helmet, not at this location, but another one, so it's never bad to go sneak a peak. ;) read more

I've been hitting up a lot of thrift stores lately. Who says I'm not a good gift giver? Actually, "The DI" as it's known locally is a great place for hard to find odds and ends when I get a crazy idea. Homemade aluminum backpacking stove. You betcha! Get your parts here. Terrible sweater for the holidays? Absotively. And I hate the word absotively, but that's the kind of randomness available at D.I. This particular location is one of their newest. The store's in great shape with tons of clothes. The knick-knack aisles in the back are at least well-clumped by type, color, and material (all the glass stuff is together, all the dinnerware stuff is together) but you'll still have to dig a little in the great thrift store tradition. The building here also houses LDS Employment Services. On the west side is the donation center which is a convenient drive-thru with friendly dudes out there helping you unload your donations. Lots of parking out front (north side of building) and easy access to/from Redwood Road. read more

It never fails, every time I have been here there are tons of people. Any day or time of the week. I think that must mean they have some good stuff. I have scored some great buys here. My sister in law needed a bunch of mason jars and I found over 20 of them here for a quarter each. I also found a few gorgeous picture frames for a couple bucks each and just painted them to give them a new life. I love the thrill of the treasure hunt at DI! read more

This is a huge place and tons of clothing. The store was clean and they sort things by the size and the color so it was easy to find the size I was looking for. Compare to Good will, some clothing price was little high for the quality but overall I was satisfy what I found! read more

Whoa! Color me impressed - this is the cleanest most well organized thrift store I have ever seen. Clothes are organized by color and are clean and possibly pressed. Miscellaneous items are grouped by type in bins at the back of the store. Staff was friendly, efficient and plentiful. This place was hopping on a Saturday. Lots of drop offs and tons of shoppers. Seriously - I have never seen a cleaner thrift store. Well done DI. read more

This is one of the newest Deseret Industries Stores in the Salt Lake Valley and is well organized and generally quite clean. I can't comment much on the products they carry because I'm usually singularly focused on finding old cameras for my collection. But like most DI stores they seem to have a good selection of clothing, home goods, games, and electronics. Prices are dirt cheap and staff is generally friendly. read more

I am a big fan of the DI, especially this location. I honestly don't understand how Goodwill and other thrift stores can stay in business around here when competing with the DI. The prices are rock bottom here and the quality of items is usually pretty good. I enjoy going here because it feels like a game, and finding that special winning item for dirt cheap is always a great feeling. I go here to buy lots of old records (.75c) and books (~$1). They really have just about anything though, and each visit is an entirely new selection. I also like how the store is well maintained, neat, and organized. It amazes me how they can keep such a mishmash of things looking as organized as some department stores. The jobs program they have is also neat, and feels good to support. Garage sales around here tend to be lame from my experience, so I just go to the DI every weekend instead! read more

Holy people in here. Everytime I am here, there is always a lot of people here. No kidding why. Cheap! lol This DI has heck more of everythings compare to Sandy's DI. A special department with collectible items located in the back of store. If you found a furniture that you like, reserve it asap with a staff or someone will take it before you noticed. I come here to find couple old sweaters to cut it up for my new pillow case. I also found a 75 cents nice big china bowl for my cat to slow down his eating habit. Generally, everything is very cheap and do check the quality before your purchase it. They also do have a lot of staffs and they are all friendly. read more

I didn't go inside the store, but just dropped off a truck load of items. Not the friendliest staff but I wouldn't be happy either unloading someone else's truck first thing in the morning. The guys did work very fast though and took all of my stuff except for an old tv since it wasn't a flat screen. read more

Huge Fan of D.I.... Especially the West Jordan location. The store (and bathrooms) are clean (and most other D.I.s are too); The Managers are Great and most of the workers are friendly and helpful. DI has a large variety of items... from Furniture to Brand Name clothing for both Men, Women & Children. I have found Treasures and Awesome Deals on full collections of items; Designer Clothes and purses, backpacks and bags (I use the backpacks and bags with wheels to make Emergency Preparedness Kits); DVDs, CDs & VHS, Electronics, TV's, Kitchenware, items to "upcycle", etc. Also, a "Collectibles" Area that has more unique items. It's always a joy when I find that one item I've been looking out for for ages. A "Yard" area for larger items, bikes, furniture, lamps, lawnmowers, sporting equipment, garage stuff, skis... and of course toys, games, stuffed animals, kid play sets... the list just goes on. read more

Quick and easy to drop off donations. Because of the area the offerings inside tend to be SLIGHTLY better than the DI by my house in West Valley or the locations downtown that get picked through more often...but alas, it's still a thrift store. So furniture has rips and stains, tables don't have matching chairs, and if you're looking for a specific size, you'll need to do some digging. But that's all thrift stores, so this is no different. I'm just mostly impress with the ease of donation drop off. Three dudes run out to empty out your car, you don't even have to get out...except I got about three blocks away before I realized they also took the car seat out of the back with my son still in it. read more

Not as good a selection as a couple of others that I went to. Still I am sure there will be finds. Pricing is consistent across stores.

I shop at the DI at least twice a week and I donate from time to time as well, However on a few occasions I have asked the management to come down on the price of larger items like dressers and furniture and they refused to at all not even $3 on a kid sofa that was pretty dirty and tattered. I just feel that for things that are all donated they are pretty greedy. And its not just one store its several. Sometimes there are things that people really need but cant afford. I thought it was about helping people and not just the money. But I guess I was wrong ! Sincerely a single working mom of 6 . read more
